I just hope Mourinho forgot to tune in.

Well, I get what you're talking but the gap is still big IMO. Is any Italian club even near of winning a trophy in Europe bar Juventus? I don't think so. All the while Man Utd may be crappy yet still win EuroLeague titles and have a decent run there. Arsenal are very bad as well but were insurmountable for Milan in our last meeting.

I think English teams are much much better in general. Not so much in terms of player quality, but in overall management, marketing strategies, projects, etc.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Dec 29 2019, 02:05 PM) *
Elaborate what?

Why you think Serie A is near(er) to EPL in terms of quality. I must disagree.

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Dec 30 2019, 12:22 PM) *
Impotency? Let me quote Mourinho for you

It's a simple equation really.

Last season we had the same squad, yet scored a lot more. I understand your position, but it's more then just that.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Dec 30 2019, 09:10 PM) *
We've reached an agreement with Barcelona for Todibo, loan with right of purchase. Waiting for the player's decision.

Just what we need. Another teenager to fill in. Idiotic strategy...

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Dec 28 2019, 10:44 AM) *
Defenses in the MLS are not as tactically oriented as Serie A. The overall quality improved yes I agree, but the defenses Zlatan faces are not the same and hence I am skeptical he can bring in the same goal tally.

But what I am confident about is him bringing the fire into this team.

Even a third of the goals he scored for Galaxy would mean a huge improvement compared to the level of impotency we're currently at.

To a certain extent. I clearly don't think Serie A is the best league in Europe, La Liga is. But I think the gap between Italy and England, for example, has been reduced substantially.

Care to elaborate?

He's nowhere near Kaka. Speed was always an integral part of Rickys game. Ibra on the other hand has still plenty to show for us at this moment. Naturally I don't expect him to score 20+ goals but he'll surely beat Leao's and Piatek's staggering goal total.

I think we lack proper management, that's about all. With experience and a good plan results would come and we could build our way up as long as it takes. But with this management? A non-existent president, two rookie legends who both showed countless signs of vanity but no true know-how and a hedge fund counting our every move so they can sell us to yet another adventure it really looks grim.

Yet, I believe things could still change fast.

We need Ibra more then ever. His winning mentality will once again bring in a champion in the team. Never mind his age, even if he turns out to be unable to perform with regularity he'll be sorely needed as a presence.

Next we should find a proper management tandem and fire Boban and Maldini ASAP. Only if we lack resources or options should be keep the duo and give them another chance.

The amount of bad decisions they've made is staggering. Piatek for one was a bad signing, for that kind of money and considering his limited ability. A row of questionable moves, be it in terms of quality (Rebić, Krunić) or prize (Leao, again Rebić), the inability to free us some space and money (Rodriguez, Biglia, Hakan, Castillejo), no real conception or feeling what the team needs and on top of it a poor choice of managers. It turns out they completely missjudged Gattuso who seems to be potentially a very good manager. Especially since they knew (obviously) that we cannot afford a more experienced coach who's won something like Conte or even Spalletti.

All wrong moves. So, the change should start from upper management. Then we should try find adequate replacements for our team. We need a rebuild.

Naturally it is.

Napoli is in bad shape but we made them look even worse. The same happened to Roma as well. And Lazio to an extent.

We're simply a catastrophic team. Insecure, completely lost, no leader, no true passion, no grit or idea. It's time we changed the core again because releasing players like Biglia or Hakan won't do the trick alone.

Sadly. Anyone watched the game? I tried, but failed. We're so bad it's really a pain to watch. Even good or solid teams look bad when playing with us.

Kessie is terrible as well. I guess Pioli tried to rely on Bonaventura's experience. But not that this sub mattered. Krunić was bad, Bona as well.

Juve-Milan coming up. No one here to comment or give line-ups and pre-match media writings. Well, as expected. How low have we fallen...

Yet we have to consider the conditions of our present time.

Hamburger SV never were a true German giant, they just had much success in the 80s (and some in the 50s and 70s). Leeds is huge, I didn't want anyone to get insulted. But in terms of titles they cannot be compared to any of the top English clubs. I think Milan is in a whole different league then the likes of Forest, Leeds, HSV, etc. Not that this can be helpful or a dire warning to us.

But to answer R7, our 7 CL titles won't show up on field. But the will show up for the marketing and business side. Milan still can attract investors because unlike the aforementioned clubs (bar HSV) Milan is located in a relevant and attractive city (Milano) and still represents a prestigious brand. Now everything can be devalued and Milan could easily face the fate of Leeds etc. But our history makes us still attractive to potential buyers. If we find a suitable parton we can hope to get rebuild one day. Until the we have to forget about sporting results, hope we somehow crawl into the CL and manage to up our prize and then again hope to get sold to the right owner. There's a lot of ifs and buts, I'm completely aware.

Again, Milan ain't Leeds. We have history and value, I think someone will come and pick us up soon enough.

Interesting match.

Calabria-Duarte looking very bad tonight.

Castillejo had perhaps the best game in his Milan career but then got injured. Talking about luck...

I think there's still much to do.

In January we need a new right fullback. Abate would help now sooo much. Calabria finally proved his limitations while Conti is just Serie B material. We need a stronger and more pass-friendly fullback. Or even try Rodriguez (who is terrible at the moment but still better IMO) there.

Next we should try the Duarte - Romag combination. If that doesn't work perhaps Rodriguez - Romagnoli? He used to play CB for Switzerland so I don't think it would be that strange. His passing is better then Musacchio and Romag, so this could be a improvement.

Next we should bench Kessie. I was watching yesterday, the sheer stupidity with which he operates plus the amount of onforced simple errors is disastrous. Please put in Krunić, put in Bennacer and Biglia with a double pivot, anyone else... And in January, please bring in a normal DM and get us rid of both Kessie and Biglia. O how I miss Bakayoko...

Next is attack. We tried without Suso, but deploying Castillejo is like trying to play with 10 men. He's yet another junk player we signed from Spain and I hope he's headed there back soon. Useless. The irony is that I think GP system might have worked if only we tried playing without Suso. Now that we are back with the trident, there's little to do. Against teams like SPAL I would deploy Rebić-Leao-Suso, but what against teams like Lazio? I'd bench Piatek and Suso but the options are very short here.

If we keep going like that we'll be a relegation side by Christmas. My God how deep are we in mess.

And yes, Hernandez is a great catch. If only he had someone to play with. Leao seems to be fading away rapidly as well..

Biglia??? Get off Kessie. Have you seen what he's done? Also Dzeko's goal is on him as well. Kessie is a walking disaster. Conti also. So many mistakes and wtf moments. A junk player.

Not that Biglia did good, but those two were terrible.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 24 2019, 10:24 PM) *
He's never been great since he's joined us. Good at times, terrible at others.

Since he joined us? You all overrated him stubbornly thinking he can be something which suited our dream modes but in reality he was a player that failed at Hamburg and Leverkusen before coming here an failing once again. Next stop Galatasaray or Besiktas or whatever.
