Hoping to win against Atalanta... how the mighty have fallen. Come on, let's keep up the positive mentality. We are Milan. I think we can manage Atalanta.

What the hell is wrong with Bennacer? He?s been out for such a long time.

Oh I fear we've rushed him too early last time he recovered, yes?

And this is precisely why I'm so frustrated with Tonali. He's simply not stepping out, not even trying to bring his rythm, tempo and playing intelligence into our gameplan.

We snapped him up from Osijek when he was 24 and at that point he'd just eked his way into the Croatia NT.

He's got a rival now for his position with the NT, Lille's Domagoj Bradarić. Only 21 but breaking through.

I see you're well informed regarding our NR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jan 19 2021, 11:55 PM) *
On what basis do you think the contrary will happen? The official statement has always been to bring Milan back to the top of European clubs.

We will sell Theo and Donna if a club comes and offers them 10M per season and us 70-80M euros. There's no escaping that, because we can't afford those wages and we can't close an eye to that much money. But it's not that we're signing youngsters in order to sell them in the future for cash. They are two entirely different things.

Answering a question with a question, hah? Well... the fact that we signed Gazidis, that he openly tries to emulate the Arsenal model, the fact that we're still far from being financially in green. The official statement may be suggesting that but I think "bringing Milan back to the top" means exactly that - functioning like Dortmund or Arsenal in the Gazidis years.

And I disagree. I think we're most certainly concentrating on cheaper youngsters, we'll try to rise their value and then sell for profit.

With Romagnoli, Theo, Bennacer, Hakan and Saelemaekers out, I doubt we can win.

Atalanta are a tough opponent. They beat Lazio and Roma 4-1 both times, tied against both Inter and Juventus, won against Liverpool at Anfield in the CL! They have the second best attack in the league. Almost made the semi finals in the CL last season.

This is hardly a half-baked team, man.

Half baked is maybe too harsh, but mark my words, we'll win this one.

A draw?

If we want the scudetto we have to win against such half-baked teams. They humiliated us last season, Kessie said it was the focal turning point for us. I'm sure we have an open score with them and we'll do just about anything to win.

Good to hear that. He's still not that known to us here and only recently started to play more for the NT.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jan 18 2021, 01:27 AM) *
Sorry, I don't agree. I don't think that's our philosophy at all. We're not like Dortmund. The only reason we go after these young profiles is because, given the current circumstances, we simply don't possess the financial power to go after established big names who demand insane wages.

We're paying good wages to most of our players. If they excel even more, then we'll offer them a higher salary like we're doing with Hakan (around 4,5M I read), which is what he's really worth. That's all there is to it. But I don't think we have the objective to sell people like Donnarumma, Theo, Kessie, Bennacer etc. just to make a profit.

On what basis do you think this is going to happen or is our plan?

I think Han is right. Don't get me wrong, I root for your vision but I don't see any reality in it. In order for this to work, we need a sugar daddy like Berlusconi. With Gazidis (and Elliot) Milan officially settled for the Arsenal model; so yes, if the right offer comes along Donna and Theo are gone. It is not our objective to sell them, but do you honestly think we have a chance of keeping them when City, Madrid or Bayern come knocking on the door?

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jan 19 2021, 01:25 AM) *
Fillipo, I forget you're Croatian. Must be nice having two countryman playing for Milan. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It is. Especially after the last few (Strinić, Kalinić, Pa?alić) turned out not that impressive. This must be what, perhaps the 10th Croatian playing for Milan. We only need a keeper to have a all-time all-Croatian Milan team ready (IMG:style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif)

QUOTE (Danny @ Jan 19 2021, 02:10 AM) *
Croatian players are some of the world's absolute best. Another one of his plays for Rangers.

Is Bari?ić really doing that well?

Yeah, they've been very lucky with injuries/infections. Wonder how they'd fare within our current situation.

Probably they would crumble.

Because selling him for insane money is what will bring us profit. I don't think Tomori is the new Maldini. If we can sell a top defender at a multiple inflated prize, I'm all for it. We can buy ourselves 2-3 addition afterwards.

But anyway, let's not get ahead too quick. We haven't really signed him yet.

But wait... explain to me... if Milan has 4 COVID positive players, why is the fixture going through anyway? I mean Napoli refused to play against Juventus. Why should we play anyhow? If Juve were without Ronaldo, Dybala and two other blokes they would have suspended the game already.

Let's be patient and see. I'm sure Juventus and Inter will make some good signings. Milan only signed Meite so far, and he's a okay backup but nothing more.

I'm not sure why we are thinking so long about Mandzukic. Also, we have to bear in mind that he hasn't played any football for 6 months and spent last season "playing" in Qatar. He might turn out to be not as well prepared as we remember him.

Tomori would be a good signing, agreed.

But I still believe we need an upgrade for the wings. Alexis is okay, especially in big games when his energy and running is crucial, but we need a deadlier option then Samu as well.

To be quite honest, I wouldn't mind Juve winning and then losing to Rino's Napoli.

I agree. But what does this matter when Pioli raters Kalulu above Musacchio and does not want to use him? Look at today, he subbed him off at the first possible chance.

I disagree about Belotti. To replace Ibra, we need someone with a winning mentality, not a 27 year old Torino striker who stopped scoring. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to sign Belotti but throwing the entire budget for him is ludicrous.

Depay is by far better if we speak of players who deserve a second chance.

But Ibrahimović showed the club what is needed. Not half-baked players like Belotti, winners is what the club needs.
