Crap performance. Once again we fail to produce anything meaningful. I really fail to understand our gameplan sometimes. We play these games like we're playing against Sampdoria.

Very lacklustre performances by many players, CDK above all. Completely anonymous. And don't get me started on Pioli's subs. Pobega, Brahim, Messias, all so so sh*t.

We could have used someone like Adli tonight but of course Pioli had to prefer Balotelli-Toure over him.

We lack a European mentality, simple as. Salzburg were OK but nothing exceptional. We could have won with a decent performance.

Felt like we were okay with the draw and happy to slow the game down...

This is probably one of the toughest games in the group though. So a point when we started a bit shaky is okay. I'll take it. Zagreb are going to be a nightmare though. Played a very low block against Chelsea apparently. We tend to struggle against that. At least we're at home for that one so we must make sure we get the 3 points in that one.

Salzburg are an impressive team though. They clearly got very tired in the 2nd half, but they have such talented youngsters.

Hopefully Moncada and co had their eyes on Okafor and Fernando. Really impressive players. Dedic also looks interesting. Kept Leao fairly quite and was able to keep up with him.

Have to say, we also looked tired there at the end. With no end in sight to the games every 3 days I really hope they can recover well for Samp

The European mantality is key. We just lack the know-how in the CL imo, and Pioli also is a factor here. Plays it too cautiously.

I think Salzburg were really good in the first half. Pressed us very well, quick, good movement. Better than the majority of Serie A team we face if we're being honest here. 2nd half they completely dropped off and Pioli f@cked it up with the changes.

He needs to try Brahim on the right side. Simple as. He's not doing it in the middle where it's congested, his turn of pace and close control would work better wide. Messias is garbage man. A Serie B player playing in the CL and we expect him to produce something... Alexis was probably our best player

Calabria as well, he's a good Serie A player, but he's not a top CL level player, he get exposed athletically in these types of games.

No no no man, Brahim on the right would be even more useless. He'll be pushed and bullied like a 10 year old.

I think Saelemaekers is the least worst alternative there. At least he's unpredictable. Messias entered the pitch tonight like an old ex-footballer in one of those legend charity games. Absolutely appalling.

But let's not try to focus just on that right side. A lot of things didn't work out tonight. If it wasn't for Leao we wouldn't even have scored any goal.

An intense match!

Milan had chances and RB Salzburg had chances, a draw was a fair result considering Milan is not in accustomed to CL tempo as of yet.

I was impressed with Milan?s goal, started with CDK?s pass to get out of a pinch in Milan?s half then Bennacer pushed it forward quick to Leao and Salaemakers closed it off. A brilliant display.

I?ll take this draw considering the opponent was more than capable of taking all three points tonight. Though some of Pioli?s changes were questionable, I don?t doubt playing every 3 days is gonna take its toll on this team and introducing fresh legs is what allowed Milan to hang on and push hard till the final whistle. Let alone giving those that worked their socks off a breather, noting the packed schedule.

P.s. this Dest kid is an interesting player, his cross to Origi was on point. Give hik some time and he could be worthy of challenging for that RW slot!

He'll find more joy and space out wide. It's in the centre where he gets bullied. Alexis is just as capable as Messias of having a major stinker btw, I think he offers a bit more but we really have a handicap on that side. There is not harm in trying different things out.

Re the game in general, I think it was clear that we were struggling a bit to find rhythm. A lot of errors as well with the passing. We're struggling a bit with this schedule imo which has been quite a difficult start compared to most other teams in the league who had had at least 2 easy games while we have had a difficult match every 3 days. It's going to take its toll. Krunic and Rebic injured does not help as we cannot rotate effectively

Pobega is simply not a valid option. Not even in Serie A, let alone the CL. This is going to stretch Tonali and Benna to their limits. Theo also looked very laboured at the end there with some cheap give aways which were clearly down to fatigue

Against Samp, Pioli needs to rotate this squad better than he did against Sassuolo. Theo needs a rest, Bennacer needs a rest, Giroud needs to sit it out and if Rebic is back so should Leao.

We can always make changes early in the 2nd half if needed but we need to give these players a breather.

Dest, Vrancks, Adli, Origi and FBT, all should be given a chance to start.

The 3 games a week is going to be a killer. Not getting that extra top mid is going to hurt us. We really should have sold Pobega when he was wanted by other Serie A clubs. He's just not at the level we need and that's going to hurt us

We need Krunic and Rebic back ASAP

Chelsea just sacked Tuchel... My God. Thankfully Gerry didn't come in and wear all the hats at this club like Boehly...

They've been absolutely sh!t but how do you spend nearly 300m in the summer to get him the players he wanted and then sack him 7 games in?

Hopefully they're still a mess when we have to play them

Next Wednesday against Dynamo is going to be absolutely crucial

???

The team famous for bottling it when things get tough??

Liverpool have been pants all season, even an awful United beat them.

Napoli have been very good at the start, but that's nothing new. They're always good when there is no pressure on them, they were probably even better at the start of last season.

Liverpool just don't look like the same team they were last season, Trent has been completely exposed defensively, Salah looks similar to Messias atm, rather than the world class player we've become used to. The loss of Mane has hit them especially hard as well. And Van Dijk has looked absolutely terrible all season as well. People actually campared this guy to Paolo. Lost a step in pace and turns into Harry Maguire (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Credit to Napoli, they were great, that Kvara kid is a star in the making for sure. So bitter we didn't get him last summer when we were strongly linked. But this Liverpool are not the same team us and Inter played last season. Just look at the EPL table, says it all, closer to relegation than top spot in terms of points

It don't matter. They showed to everyone how to approach games like these, regardless of how awful Liverpool are. I'm sure we wouldn't have won so convincingly had we faced them.

I wholeheartedly disagree. For me Diaz on the wing would be the most useless thing on the planet.

You can't say. When we played them last season they were in even better shape than when they faced Inter during that period, Salah was in insane form, they still had Mane and a fit Thiago. This Liverpool isn't even a shadow of that team, and we still put up a fight against them.

Napoli, in general have had a lot more recent experience in Europe, our team is still very green in that regard, but essentially we went out last season thanks to some horrific refereeing.

I think you're making too much of a big deal about our draw against a side, who did not lose once at home last season either. They're a very weel coached young side. We were never going to go there and run all over them.

Napoli are capable of playing some one the most beautiful football in the league btw, they're a very good side, but they're famous for sh!tting their pants when it comes to the business end of the season. Same for their coach. So lets not get ahead of ourselves about their know-how and approach.

you cannot sh!t all over it when it's never been tried though. Can you honestly tell me that you wouldn't even consider it when Messias and Alexis are stinking up the place every week?

Got a good pay rise as well. A deserved renewal and increase. He's an exceptional professional. Took the cut, worked his @ss off and now he's better off for it

Should be 3-0 up right now, the final ball and finishing have been sub-par.

And does anyone know why the goal was ruled out? I was watching in French so I didn't get the reason, Giroud was offside, but I don't think he was interfering
