Borriello barricades Milan gates

Milan may be trying to sign Andriy Shevchenko, Emmanuel Adebayor and Ronaldinho, but Marco Borriello warns he’ll walk if competition increases.

The Italian international earned a recall to base after his splendid spell at Genoa proved enough to get him into the Euro 2008 squad.

However, talk of bids for Sheva, Adebayor and Ronaldinho risk squeezing him out of the side completely.

“For the present time, Milan have shown they wish to count on Borriello,” said agent Tiberio Cavalleri.

“If the number of strikers at the Rossoneri’s disposal should grow, then his position could well change.”

The 26-year-old scored a sensational 19 Serie A goals with Genoa last season, almost double his previous personal best of 10 in Serie C1 with Treviso.

His last campaign with Milan was 2006-07, managing one goal in just nine appearances.

“In any case, it is all hypothetical about the future, as Milan have been linked with many strikers, but nobody has arrived yet.”

Borriello must be worried that general manager Adriano Galliani has been so open in discussing their negotiations for these three top stars.

The chances of capturing all three increased considerably over the last 24 hours, as Arsenal appeared to halve their asking price for Adebayor to £20m.

Shevchenko and Ronaldinho are reportedly both willing to take a pay cut in order to facilitate the move to San Siro.

I think he knows where he stands. This is not any random club he is at. And not everyone can leave their mark here. But yeah, he doesn't seem to have any, if this is how he thinks (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Seriously though guys, no need to jump to conclusions as yet.
Lets see how it plays out for now!

He may actually turn out to be a gutless loser or even a big hit for us if he stays.
Either way jus give it a while.

He's basically saying that if Milan bring in more competition for him in the attacking department then he would leave.

To be honest, not the best time to say this. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) If things don't work out he can always get a transfer done in winter. But sending out negative signals even before the start of the season is just, meh.

What an idiot. We worked so hard to rise his price by sending all those "Borriello is a great add" messages, and now he opens his mouth and destroys everything with that kind of comment.

He's thinking first of himself, then about the team. That's a characteristic the Ancelotti Milan team really lacks. And I kind off want that to stay..
