For the last few days, the Italian press has been reporting that the Genoa authorities may ask for away fans to be barred from the game. The reason is that the last time this fixture was played, a Milan ultra killed a Genoa fan. There have been rumblings in Genoa that 'revenge' is being plotted and so the request has been put forward as a matter of public safety. (The family of the man who was killed don't want revenge; they have been quoted as saying that football games should be open to everyone, should be peaceful, etc).

Gazzetta has its probable formations for the weekend games up early.

Here's who they think will start for Milan:

Dida
Oddo Nesta Bonera Jankulovski
Brocchi Pirlo Ambrosini
Kaka Seedorf
Gilardino

Gattuso and Kaladze/Maldini resting for the Super Cup?

I don't think we should underestimate Genoa. The 3 points are really important. To have a good start.

God isn't healthy yet - he's expected back at the end of September according to an article on the club website today.

I suspect Gazzetta thinks Gattuso may be rested because of national team duty. No clue about Kaladze. Then again, Gazzetta usually gets at least one place wrong in their probable formations.

This should be a piece of cake .. But I think Milan won't demolish newly-promoted Genoa; something like a 3-1 or 2-0 for us would be sweet (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

It really really won't be. Teams like Genoa and Napoli will be fighting with all they got and will be hard to beat at home soil.
