QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Sep 2 2011, 07:59 PM) They weren't booing, they were chanting England. There is a big difference, but I agree it shouldn't be done. Though we generally don't make noise during an opposition anthem (unless it's a select few nations) so I imagine it was done in annoyance to the Bulgaria fans not respecting ours.
Don't know why you'd even mention the chanting if you don't care about it. If it was racism/bad taste, fair enough. But that's the kind of song that happens at every ground in the country on a Saturday! It's still disrespectful man, and I really think we were the innovators of this a few years back. I don't remember anyone doing it to us before. I just don't see how hard it is to shutup for a moment for a national anthem, be it England to Bulgaria and vice-versa. It's borderline pathetic. Yeah, you make a fair point there. On the field 3-0 at HT, impressive.

QUOTE (Milan Are Brilliant @ Sep 2 2011, 08:02 PM) It's still disrespectful man, and I really think we were the innovators of this a few years back. I don't remember anyone doing it to us before. I just don't see how hard it is to shutup for a moment for a national anthem, be it England to Bulgaria and vice-versa. It's borderline pathetic. Yeah I do agree. I don't see the need to be disrespectful. I can understand some people might get pissed off if their anthem is booed so they boo the opposition one, but there really is no need. I think it's more of a problem when we go away if anything because other nations dislike us. They boo ours, we boo theirs. At home both anthems are, generally speaking, both respected. 3-0 England, Rooney on the stroke of half time. As I said, we could rack up quite the score though we haven't played particularly brilliant. Just a solid, 'job done', performance. Scotty Parker proving me wrong again. Yeah, agreed about the Anthems. Vicious circle I guess.
Rooney looks so much sharper, I was reading he did no training over the summer, perhaps more players should do that. He looks a completely different player this year.
Parker! Nah, he's good and I was a doubter a few years back. I'm interested to see how he does at Spurs now, as he won't be the main man as he was with The Hammers last year. Almost like their saviour, it didn't really go to well at Chelsea when he wasn't the main man, unlike West Ham & Charlton.

6-2 against Austria (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Was almost too easy. Eight games, 24 pts. Quite OK, I think.

QUOTE (acid911 @ Sep 2 2011, 10:44 PM) Boy these Dutch, when they are onto it, they really are onto it. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Silky smooth! San Marino... QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Sep 2 2011, 10:45 PM) Nice. And one of the scorers even has a German name. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Jealous? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) Which of these names doesn't sound German: Götze or Schürrle? Oh, and Özil stole one from Müller. And even you couldn't argue that Müller is not a German name! Oh, and we even have potential scorers with English names. Yeah...we got it all...
