CHELSEA STATEMENT
Posted on: Sun 22 May 2011

Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Carlo Ancelotti parted company with the club today (Sunday, 22 May).

The owner and board would like to thank Carlo for his contribution and achievements since taking over as manager in July 2009, which included winning the Double for the first time in the club's history.

However, this season's performances have fallen short of expectations and the club feels the time is right to make this change ahead of next season's preparations.

Carlo will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge, where he will be given the reception and respect his position in our history deserves.

Chelsea's long-term football objectives and ambitions remain unchanged and we will now be concentrating all our efforts on identifying a new manager.

There will be no further comment until that appointment is made.

Yeah. Roma with Carlo and new owners who're willing to spend $$$. next season could be way more interesting since there's gonna be like 5 teams fighting for 3 CL spots.

Ancelotti said he wants to keep coaching in England. He said he'd coach even West Ham. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Francesco Totti would like to see Carlo Ancelotti considered for the Roma job after his sacking at Chelsea.

The Italian tactician was dismissed by the Premiership outfit last night just hours after the 1-0 loss to Everton.

“I hope Ancelotti is in contention after he left Chelsea,” the Roma idol stated following Sunday’s 3-1 win over Sampdoria.

Ancelotti is a former Roma player and has never hidden his dream of one day bossing the Giallorossi.

Totti, too, has spoken of his desire to work with Ancelotti in the capital before his career comes to an end.

However, it remains to be seen whether a marriage will take place.

Ancelotti has told reporters that he’d like to continue working in England, while Roma have been interviewing numerous Coaches for next season.

New sporting director Walter Sabatini met Chievo boss Stefano Pioli on Friday and he has talks with other tacticians lined up.

Roma, who will officially be owned by American businessman Thomas Di Benedetto, finished the campaign in sixth, three points behind rivals Lazio.

Vincenzo Montella is currently in charge of the side after he replaced Claudio Ranieri in February following his resignation.

If Totti wants him, then he's going to come (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think my money would be on Roma, given he's already stated in the past he'd like to manage there.

I'm not sure how much I rate Carlo when the pressure mounts. After he won the Scudetto with us we totally stagnated and struggled for years domestically. And you could argue the same happened in his second year at Chelsea.

He's a nice man and I don't like to see nice men lose their jobs, but I suspect he may be slightly over-rated. That said I do think he'd give Roma a boost.

Well, compared to Montella, Ranieri or Spalletti, he'd give them a pretty nice kick.

Gutted about carlos sacking. our f****** owner is so critical over our managers WIN CL OR ELSE (in a deep russian voice). villas boas has said he will stay in his post at Porto. so the likely chances are itll be hiddink zola or van basten. hiddink i would like most tho.

THANK YOU CARLO

He will end up at roma unless montella gets a perm job then he will end up at Juve. i just cant see a good man lower himself to a dirty club like wet spam

Yesterdays match tho was freaking dire. the team showed nothing no desire apart from getting on their summer holidays
Its a shame. its the players who let carlo down real shame
