Ambro had a rush of blood to the head - where were the rest of the veteran leaders to pull him aside when they saw he got angry at the ref? Someone must fill in the leadership vacuum and take charge of the team - that is what is most troubling right now.

Its always tough when a coach gets used to working with saavy professionals and veterans, and in comes a young rookie who is still learning the ropes. Still, I think the culture needs to change at Milan and more youth must come in - and if Carlos cannot relate to 20 somethings, then perhaps the writing is on the wall

Maldini deserved better than a 3-2 loss to Roma, but at least Totti and the rest of the team paid him his respects.

Dida has been playing well as of late - hes not as good as Cesar, but he has improved and does have some trophies in his closet

Ronnie and Becks have sold some jerseys to help out with revenue, although the results on the pitch have been lacking

Has the quota system been approved and passed the lawsuit/legal tests? I see a big legal stink in the European Court of Human Rights

And just like that, nobody cares about Becks. Its interesting how the affair gets more press than the ensuing relationship!

The training regimen probably plays a role, but on the other hand, Maldini is still going strong despite his age and Pato has not had too many problems. I think the solution is younger players, not a new team doctor

Sheva has to earn his minutes on the training pitch - Inzaghi and Pato are both scoring goals and the chemistry is good

A replay rule for all goals to make sure they were onside would be agreat - it would not kill the rhythm because you only review if a player scores (and the rhythm is dead anyways)

Plus, it would let linesman let close calls play out, knowing they could be reviewed if there was a goal

I like the former player rule...so Riijkaard is next up right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Ancelotti would be an upgrade over Juande, but Im sure Berlusconi wont let Carlos go without a fight.

Maradona was popular everywhere - unless you were fan of a rival he played against, the little bundle of energy was tough to dislike.

Marca is the Spanish equivalent of goal dot com. I refuse to post even something resembling a link.

Ancelotti would have been a good fit for Perez's old team of aging galacticos who had no shot at a league title

Someone has to take responsibility for Milan playing UEFA cup football. Pirlo and Gattuso are not getting any younger, and the Senderos/Flamini signings have been total busts.

Both teams created quality chances - the difference was finishing. Adriano should have gotten a yellow card, not a goal though. I think if players can get fined for tackles not called, then forwards should get fined for such antics.

Maldini para SIEMPRE. His reading of the game is fantastic - with Ambrosini in front to do the running at a defensive CM, Paolo could play another 5 years

He and Inzaghi will play until they get their retirement pensions jajjaajja

The Galaxy bought Beckham to make money and he played a key role in sponsor deals and ticket sales. If he goes, lots of angry MLS customers in America. Milan, however, views him at a 33 year old right sided midfielder on his last legs. Hence the divide

And Juan Pablo Angle has done great in MLS - a class act and still have a great first touch

I am just generally bored by the current crop of player celebrations after goals. The yellow card for shirt-taking-offery has really dealt a blow to the creativity of the game.

Italian players will understand the history and the passion of wearing the red and black, but perhaps the jersey weighs on them too heavily? Brazilians can come in and play without stress and thus with confidence.

I also actually like the "foreign magnet" approach - I recall a Dutch-laden Milan squad winning quite a few trophies. Perhaps we should have sold Rijkaard and Van Basten when we signed Ruud Guillit? Based on your reasoning, that would have been necessary right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Someone approached us about buying Emerson? Wow. All this time fretting about how to dump his salary, and along comes Pompy

Yeah 10 million should do the trick. MLS needs to be smart and sell him on good terms, so in 3-4 years it can re-sign him. He really did help attendance, help sell t-shirts, and help sell TV deals. All those thing will be possible again in 4 years.

Plus 10million is a fair price for a 33 year old in a down economy.

I could see Fabregas as a long term replacement for Pirlo. However, as noted elsewhere, the last two Arsenal signings have thoroughly failed to impress

Becks is not the long-term solution but has scored some goals and still has a few more seasons left in him. Plus, he wont cost much to sign from America

Neither of the Arsenal signings have impressed. Senderos is less of a disappointment because the expectations were so low. Flamini I thought would be decent, but he has shown little tactical saavy
