But just wanted to say hey, and hope you're all doing ok.

I've barely watched any 'Milan' this season, because the whole operation has nothing to do with what I recognise Milan to be.

I fell in love with Gullit, Rijkaard, Kaka, with Sheva, with Seedorf, Pippo - you name it - the pantheon of greats that this club used to be about.

It wasn't even about winning - we only won a single Scudetto under Carlo - and just one under Allegri. It was about being Milan, being proud, playing energising, bums off seat football which we could be thrilled by.

Watching Kaka tear Man Utd apart, or watching us competing at the top of of Serie A, of Europe - it was more than a club, it was a complete football culture. Sacchi's catenaccio then Carlo's more marauding play - turning Pirlo from a good player into the greatest player.

I look at what I am fleetingly seeing in our colours now and I have zero identification with any of it.

If there's one word which really sums up where we are now, it's 'boring'. We play horrible, boring, bland football with journeymen players who don't deserve the shirt. And while Rino is doing his best, he was always the easy option and completely out of his depth.

Meanwhile Bonucci looks like Bonucci again at Juve, giving you some idea of what seems to happen to good players when they're in our shirt.

I'm no gloryhunter - I will always support Milan, and we don't need to win everything, because we never did, but until I feel it's a Milan who loves itself, I doubt I'll care much what happens.

How did it come to this....

Unfortunately the forum represents the battered spirit of the fandom.

Hey Danny! Long time, no read (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

My view is that if we have survived during the closing of the Berlu era and the mess under the Chinese, things can only get better from there, so we're in for the long haul

Things are finally looking up for this club. The backroom staff is in place, and I think that will slowly but surely translate on the pitch. It's just a matter of patience.

If Paolo was convinced by these new owners to come back then that is enough for me personally

The Chinese ownership, the Bonucci and Higwan stuff - it turned me away. The fanbase also got a bit toxic too, including myself.

I'm liking the more chilled out feeling in here now. Maybe we've embraced what Milan are now, rather than expecting the best. And slowly (very slowly) building back towards where we were rather than anticipating something beyond what this team can deliver is a good move.

It'll take me a while to feel my way back into the club. A 6-12 month break really does leave you so far out the loop.

I don't expect the Scudetto any season soon. But I am liking the fact I really like a few of the players now. Piatek, Cutrone, and if Gigio can play more often like he did v Roma I'll love him again soon. Kessie improving as well.

Still not big on Suso, I'll just never like the guy no matter how well he plays. I also nearly barfed when I heard we were interested in Delofeu.
