The agent of under-fire goalkeeper Nelson Dida has stood up for his client by attacking the Milan defence. “It’s their fault, not his,” Oscar Damiani argued.

The Brazilian was blasted in the Italian media for his performance in the 2-2 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday where he seemed at fault for both goals.

Those mistakes, coupled with a few more unconvincing displays this term, did raise question marks over the club’s decision to recently hand him a new £2.8m a season deal until 2010.

However, Damiani has today followed in the footsteps of President Silvio Berlusconi by backing the South American.

“The truth is that the Milan defence is inexistent and everyone is simply shifting the blame on to the goalkeeper,” the representative claimed.

“The errors at the back against Bayern, specifically by [Massimo] Oddo and [Alessandro] Nesta, were significant and my client can’t pay the penalty for those.

“Journalists need to take into account this aspect. Milan won’t get anywhere if they don’t put their defence right, no matter what Dida does.”

The World Cup shot-stopper, born in 1973, has been the Rossoneri’s undisputed No 1 since the 2002-03 campaign.

LMAO

Dida's agent has officialy been living under a rock since football started.

Milan defense inexistent? Whether or not the defense played poorly, both goals he let in where his fault.

Goal 1: Makes himself smaller instead of bigger making more of the goal visible for Van Buyten to score.

Goal 2: Lets it in at his near-post. Jeeze, you do NOT let a goal in at the near-post, especially not from there.

Haha, this is modern football for you, now your agent gives you a vote of confidence!

Why on earth has he stated this in the press? Surely you would think he would want to look after his player and wait for the press to stop the mentioning about it, now they are just going to more. Perhaps he just wants to be known...

I'm usually the first person to come to Dida's defense, but I just can't this time.

He has, easily, made saves like that before. This is the freakin' Champions League...you throw your body on the line each and every minute. The first goal he made himself small so he didn't hit the strikers foot...that is inexcusable. There are tons of goalies who would love to throw their bodies on the line for Milan. The second shot a tree could have made...how he let that go in is beyond me.

Like I said, I love Dida...but this last game was the worst I've ever seen him play in.

In American football...if a quarterback showed blunders like this he would be benched to learn his lesson...benching is the ultimate form of punishment and should be used in this instance. Let Dida know that we don't HAVE to start him.

Why is everyone blaming Dida all of a sudden ?! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

He has been simply marvelous for us. In any case, at a time like this, I think Milan fans should understand and support their Milan players than condemn and put down our player's efforts ! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

U r not true fans, all u do is complain and moan, moan and complain every single day !! It is getting too retarded at times.

We ALL get the point ! The team is old, our Gkeeper isnt what he used to be, Gila is a flop, Carlo should be hanged, and Silvio should leave the club. !

Now find something interesting to talk about !

Just the same old **** being circulated. Ooohh and new young players (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Jeeezzz Something new plz !

When it comes to inconsistency, between Dida and Abbiati, Abbiati takes the cake like a fat obese kid!

If you were referring to me I wasn't even moaning just replying to the topics story (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I don't think it's the case though, this is a forum, it's basically a mass debate. If we all agreed Milan have the best players, every player is as good as one another, agree on every transfer etc what would be the point of this forum?

No ones really moaning apart from the initial disappointment when we lose a game. I think it's more putting things up for discussion (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Nice. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Don't forget those five goals he had to pluck out of the net about a month ago. For some reason, Channel 4 is a fan of his; why, I have no idea.

How do we know Dida was actually scared of the ball, anyway? We have no idea what's going on down there on the pitch or the players' mindsets.

Absolutely. Gentlemen prefer blondes huh dst? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) That said is she a genuine blond?

Look...I think the issue we should bother about here is why is his agent making this kind of statement. Whether Dida is or is not at fault I'm afraid is subjective...but then his agent making this kind of statement throws the club in a really poor light. Since when does a player's agent have the authority to judge a team's functioning? I hope the management has sent this bloke a memo or something.

Look, I don't know how you guys feel, but I've always felt (and I think someone posted a similar thing on this forum) that Dida hasn't been the same after the flare incident against the merda. Sort of like what happened to Ali and Frazier after their epic fight. That unflappablness, that icy cool somehow seems to have cooled down. There is an air of nervousness in his positioning. Just compare any random matches before and after.

Again a subjective opinion, but there is an air of apprehension about him, where earlier there was just concentration.

I think Dida needs a psychologist. Misha...get ur tickets ready bro.
