RICARDO OLIVEIRA-
Date of birth: 06 May 1980
Height: 183 cm
Weight: 82 kg
Position: Forward
Current Club: Real Betis (Spain)

He was 11 times on the Brazil NT, scoring 4 goals.
I watched him in Brazil and in Spain. He's good. But to replace Shevchenko?
I'd prefer someone younger than 26. But, if we really get this one, I would not be sad, just a little bit dissapointed.
He might be a good surprise in Calcio, if this new is confirmed.
Posted by: han2503 Aug 25 2006, 04:10 PM
I'm not buying into anything until it is confirmed on our official site, we have already gone through the same cycle twice first with Sobis then with Ronaldo, with everyone saying that they where ours and in the end not one of them even came.
I still can't get over the fact that they let Sobis go to RACING SANTANDER

Just heard on TV Record - brazillian tv - that Ricardo Oliveira is gonna be on medical tests @ Milan this afternoon, and if everything OK, he'll sign for 12-15M euros.

Calm down people. NOTHING OFFICIAL YET - http://www.acmilan.it
In the CL he has a good record, if we look at Gilardino for example:
Oliveira: 5 matches, 3 goals
Gilardino: 6 matches, 0 goals

let's just wait and see ... Oh and Marca??? they're just toilet paper!!!!!

Well some people that frequantly watch La Liga are saying that he is really good one even said that he is better then Torres!!
But they said that he was a bit injury prone because of a terrible injury that he suffered, I would have been more happier if they got both him and Sobis, at least we can rotate them and if one got injured we wouldn't have a big problem

Well according to http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?action=read&id=37566 it is official that Oliveira has signed for Milan.
Now my thoughts about this.
Last season he was injured when playing in Betis and despite this he scored 4 goals at 9 matches. After that he went to Sao Paolo where he scored 12 goals at 7 matches (!!!!),according to me that is much better than Tevez.
And the season before that he scored 22 goals at 37 matches.
This guy is great, and I am satisfied with this transfer.
My thoughts about all this.

As I said before some people on other forums who watch La Liga matches frequantly said that he is even better then Torres, I don't know if he is right, but his scoring record is certainly impressive, let's see if he would be enough.
Just want to add that I keep seeing on a lot of Italian TV sports shows that we will give Foggia to Lazio in co-ownership + cash for Oddo. If they did this then I think it would be a good deal, we need Oddo and I'm pretty sure that Foggia won't get that much playing time.
Posted by: fresh_prince7 Aug 25 2006, 07:01 PM
Hmm I can't really comment.. his statistics are pretty impressive, particularly that recent form. Well we have one ricardo in our team.. if he's half as good as that, were in business. Hope he slots in well for us.
Anyone got his videos of his champions league goals from last season?
Posted by: Captain Ambro Aug 25 2006, 07:02 PM
regarding Foggia, I hope were just talking about a loan here. I would be furious if they gave up on a player like Foggia, he's one of the biggest talents of italian football... I'd rather keep Foggia than getting Oddo, if I had to choose.

Milan pick Ruben Oliveira
Having abandoned their bid for Ronaldo, Milan are hours away from signing ex-Betis Seville forward Ricardo Oliveira, confirmed the player.
“I am happy to have been signed by such an important club as Milan,†commented the 26-year-old Brazilian as the private jet touched down this evening.
He was accompanied by Rossoneri transfer gurus Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani, who were in Spain this week to discuss Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid, but turned their attention to another Liga-based Selecao star instead.
It’s reported Oliveira will put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth £1m per season after sealing a £10m switch from Real Betis Seville.
The transfer depends on the results of a medical, though, as Oliveira was the Spanish League’s top scorer in 2004-05 with 22 goals before snapping a cruciate knee ligament in November last year.
He was loaned to Sao Paulo in his homeland to help recover from the injury and helped them reach the Final of the Copa Libertadores.
Posted by: han2503 Aug 25 2006, 07:14 PM
I think it will be announced first thing tomorrow morning with him being presented to the press in the afternoon.
All he need to go through is a medical and it will be done

I assume the idea of having co-ownership is if another club is after foggia.. I suppose it'll need agreement from both sides. It Also probably give us the option to buy back the percentage of foggia lazio will own or vice versa. I think thats the key, chances are we will want him back and we'll have that option to buy out his lazio ownership. Thats my newly developed skills of law.. sounds reasonable lol. If thats the case wouldn't be the worst thing to do.. he'll get alot more game time and we'll get oddo. Seems a good solution.
Posted by: X-Offender Aug 25 2006, 07:16 PM
Haha, it's Ricardo, not Ruben.
Anyway, yeah, he has to pass Milan Lab first, but that isn't a problem, he's ours. I don't know if this will be enough to complete our attack, but he's definitely a good signing.
Posted by: KillerMax Aug 25 2006, 07:17 PM

Well, good to have him on board.

Yeah I think you're right, I'm sure that he will spend most of his season on the bench any way if he stays and that just a waiste of talent that needs to develop. I say give him to Lazio for a few seasons, see if he develops into what promises to be a great player then if we want we get him back.
Plus right now we really need Oddo. I would also like to see them go for Gallas but I don't think that's going to happen. I would be happy if we got Oddo

That is what concerns me the most, will he be enough to at least provide us a bit of what Sheva gave us, I don't know I really hope so, this is why I keep thinking that they should have gotten Sobis, I know he is not confirmed at Racing but it really seems like they have totally lost interest in him

Lazio has Behrami injured for 3 months so they definitely need Foggia. I agree with han, if Foggia stays on the bench (which is very probable), it will be just a waste of talent. Better loan him to Lazio + cash to get Oddo, who we need a lot more.

You really want Milan play a Xtree formation? With only one striker up front?
The xmas tree has worke wonders for us on many occasions, remeber the Man U games and the Barca games in 04/05, we played them with the xmas tree and we won 3 of the 4 matches we lost to Barca 2-1 in our away match but we still managed to score something we didn't manage last year with 2 strikers

Are they in a position to give Trezeguet 6m € per season? NO. But that is what they are doing, they want to keep their best players at any cost because they want to get out of serie B as fast as possible.
And I think if they would EVER sell Buffon it will be to the merda, they already said that they have a great relatioship with eachother now because of the Viera and Ibra transfers.
Juve will not sell us any of their players.
I don't know how much Buffon would want to go to Inter, he has already said that Milan are his choice, but Juve will definately NOT sell us any of their players, not even ZEBINA

ofcourse we'll need Oddo+Gallas(+Buffon) to play the Xtree!!!!
But you sound like the Xtree is a defensive formation which is not!!! Maybe we wouldn't score 112 goals like last season but that doesn't make it offensive.

I think Trezeguet is staying, and if it's not 6m it will definately be something close to that nature, to convince him to stay with them in serie B.
They might need eachother, but I think they still feel burnt by us considerering how we handled the calciopoli thing, they where saying that Milan never did anything and it was all Juve and then when the verdicts came and they ended up the only ones being demoted I think that that got to them even more

I don't know. I just don't like that Xtree formation. For me I better see a outbox forward playing who in every moment needed can become a complete striker, then see a midfielder who can score, but isn't used to it.
Don't know, don't know.

Oliveira's stats look pretty good for Betis.
He's 26 so theres some room for development.
Hopefully his injury is healed and he's ready score some goals.
Ronaldo could have worked. But I was only suggesting a deal with situation. He's not worth 25 million and he's the last person I would trade Kaka for.
Do you guys think this is the end of offensive transfers? Still hoping for Tevez or others?
Are you guys satisfied??

Tevez's agent said that he is pretty close to signing for an EPL team so he is out of the question.
And I don't know if just him will be enough, my mind will be more at ease if we got someone else like Sobis, or some other forward that is good, he doesn't have to be as good as Sheva but someone to rotate with Oliveira, because if one gets hurt we'll either play with Pippo and Gila or have to rely on Amoroso to be our seconf rorward which scares me.
I think we should still get Sobis and ship off Amoroso and Boriello to some mid table teams

Yeah heres a recent article from planetfootball suggesting Tevez is going to the EPL
I would have liked to see Sobis come as well.
Agent: Tevez set for England
By Graeme Bailey - Created on 25 Aug 2006
Carlos Tevez's agent has claimed that his charge is nearing a move to England.
Chelsea have been leading the chase in recent months, but Manchester United and Arsenal are also both known to be keen.
Tevez fell out with his Brazilian club Corinthians at the weekend when he walked out following their game with Botafogo - claiming he would not play for them again.
Corinthians coach Emerson Leao has not been shy in condemning the Argentine striker - who looks as if he could be on his way to Europe.
Adrian Rucco, Tevez's agent, admitted a move to The Premiership was on the cards.
"Tevez is very close to moving to an English club," said Rucco.
A host of clubs from Europe are interested in Tevez, with Milan and Bayern Munich also linked.
But Corinthians director Humberto Grondona confirmed that they were under the impression Rucco was setting up a move to England.
"I am convinced that Carlos will go away to some European league," Grondona told La Nacion.
"His representative, Adrian Rucco, was in Rome three days ago and now he has gone to England to look for a club for him."
Reports in France have already stated that Rennes have made contact with Chelsea about the possibility of taking Tevez on loan, should The Blues sign him and decide to let him leave immediately.

It's official, oliveira will wear the ac milan shirt, for the ones that understan spanish here is the report, from espndeportes.com web site and it sais that after milan failed to sign in ronaldo thay wen for oliveira, they are not mentioning the fee, but i think that he didnt cost that much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Except Henry and perhaps Ronaldinho, no-one else will ever be able to fill Sheva's gap. Neither Torres, Tevez or Klose. So just be happy we finally got a new striker and didn't end up empty handed.

He's not even closer to Gila/Pippo type.
Gila and Pippo are in-box strikers. This guy can be that, or can play behind or towards the wing.
Stop that pessimism. Give the guy a chance. He's quality, he deserves it. Even Inter fans know he's a good add for Milan.

Was just about to post the same thing.
We should be happy we even got someone. There was no time to be picky, we only have six days left and this guy came cheap, so why are some still complaining, if he doesn't work out for this season, we'l sell him, I still think that they should get Sobis seeing as he strill hasn't been announced in any club. Thjat way we will have more depth in our front line.
Oddo might come also and I think that will be it for our transfer market, which wouldn't be bad at all

Glad that he is happy with the signing, hopefully he'll settle fast in the team, especially with all the Brazilians we already have

Ricky is happy!!!!???? I'm glad!!! Please Ricky don't ever leave we'll sign a bunch Oliveiras for ya if that makes you happy!!!!
Oliveira's good!!! And even though he's not any big name it proves what some people here -like me
- have been talking about. Milan don't miss out on anyone. They buy anyone they really want in just a few hours.
It's just obvious that they don't wanna spend right now, dunno for what!!!??

I just hope people start calling him the right way: Oliveira! Ricardo OLIVEIRA!
Not Olivieri or Oliviera, Olivera... etc
Don't be like the Arsenal's fans calling Viera to Patrick Vieira, 3493494393494985 seasons after they signed him.
PS: And this name is not as hard as Shevchenko.

I'm happy with Pippo, Gila, Oliveria and Amoroso. I can't think of anyone who we can realistically sign that would add anything to that line-up. Maybe Torres, but as someone has mentioned Oliveria has a better scoring record in Spain.

Oh and BTW to the person that said he thinks that we are getting over-run by Brazilians, I think you're wrong, we have the right blend of Brazilians and Italians, being over-run by a lot of foreign players is something that Inter do well, they only have 2 Italians on their team and the rest are almost all Argies, they should go and play in the Argentine league

We will sign Torres next year for sure! I know that Milan are interested in him and the only reason he didn't sign for us this season is because of the excellent relationship we have Atletico. Yes, you heard me right. It's because they want to keep him just for one more year so they can satisfy the fans and Milan are no Real Madrid. When Torres leaves, he will leave for Milan. And that will be a big day for all Rossoneri fans.
I would be glad to see him around, and hope he would make all my bad spanish memories (read: Jose Mari, Javi Moreno,...) disappear. If you would ask me for my feeling, I would say next season Rijkaard+Ronaldinho will join us
, but then again I am to often wrong...

Ricardo is a good guy. About a week ago, I watched an interview in a brazillian TV, where he said he gaves $$$ to his people (poor people from Brazil), visits them month to month... he's an humble guy. A good worker.
Not the usual brazillian superstar like Ronaldinho or Adriano who don't give a fck about anyone.
Sobis, for example, is more... how can I say... "independent"... only his business mathers.

That's why I think that our Brazilian group works, Kaka and Cafu' are also great guys and both give alot to charity, Dida, Serginho and Amoroso I don't know much about what they do but just by looking at them you can see that they are good people.

Cuz if it is, I'm gonna go commit suicide ..
I still find this a mediocre transfer .. Oliveira, Bonera, Favalli, & Gourcuff didnt give me goose bumps since they signed for us.
I don't know what Milan is up too, but I so want to believe that by the end of the transfer session we will have one hell of a team

We already have a hell of a team. But yeah, Oliveira isn't properly a surprise. I hope we'll sign another forward cause Gila, Pippo and Oliveira aren't enough, whereas Borrielo and Amoroso aren't Milan quality.

Ricardo already knows that he starts off from the bench, he has expectations but no high hopes.
I hope he does fantastic for Milan, but if Gila is on form he'll have to sit it out, IMO
Posted by: Captain Ambro Aug 26 2006, 09:44 AM
I hope that Oliveira will be a starter along with Pippo or possibly Gila. Not that he's any better than them, but Milan can't afford to have Gila and Pippo on the pitch at the same time, they don't work well together...
Posted by: Jack Sparrow Aug 26 2006, 10:06 AM
Have to agree with Skipper Ambro there...Carlo's gonna keep Pippo for the CL, that's the only place he'll start, Ricardo and Gila for the stock games. Pippo playing 90 mins day in and day out won't last the season...and Pippo is our nuke when it comes to CL...ask Bayern..
I also heard that Ricardo can pass a lot better than Gila and Pippo even though he's not a play making FW per se..so Gila and Rico will start and Pippo will be supersub..just like last time.

It says that Oliveira did and pass the medical tests, but he still hasn't been announced cause Milan and Betis haven't yet reached an agreement.

It seems that we're having some economic problems on the transfer.
Sky Sports said that, if the negotiations fail Milan will go for Huntelaar, the young one from Ajax who CAN'T PLAY IN THE CL. (Already did with Ajax)
Err... we need Oliveira, not another in-box stiker like Huntelaar.

Oh dear, if this is our Shevchenko replacement, the eagerly awaited 'surprise' and treat for AC Milan fans we were promised, then we have much to fear for the competence of our altered borad. I am so, so disappointed at this, a virtual nobody, hes 26 already. He sounds like a great 4th striker, someone to replace Amoroso, but its clear hes not going anywhere so this cane only be our Sheva Mk II. Oh dear. I am in complete frustration at Milan's pathetic action on the market this summer. They missed good defenders and seem unwilling to rescue the talented Tevez from a club he is in open rebellion at. Then we get this unknown from lowly and nearly rlegated Real Betis. I really hope this guy proves me wrong, but at the moment I'm pretty sure he won't be anywhere the quality we need to step in Sheva's shoes. Worrying days at the San Siro I feel.

I agree with you about our board and their scandalous market this summer. But Oliveira isn't a nobody. He scored 22 goals with Bets in La Liga 2 years ago. I guess that's enough for a player to prove his abilities.

Suazo also scored a lot last season. Doesn't mean much IMO! Consistency is a huge factor and one that this guy is missing.

The reason why he is missing consistency is because in the beginning of last season he suffered a terrible injury, he still managed to score 4 goals in a few matches. And fans of Spanish teams said that he liked to score against big teams and in derbies, he scored a brace on Real and a hat-rick on Barca at one point.
Oh and btw even after being loaned to Sao paolo when he was injured, when he recovered he still managed to score quite a few goals at Sao Poalo.

Jankulovski is not a bad decision, when he has played he has always impressed not to mention scored a crucial goal for us last season. Janku didn't play last season because Serginho was having one of his best seasons so Carlo picked him not to mention that he was going through an injury for almost half of the season so he couldn't play.
Imo Ronaldo would be a mistake, he will take a lot of time just to recover from the operation and find his form back, and we can't just buy him and wait for him to return to fitness when we have no back up and our only alternative is to play with Pippo and Gila, which is a big no no

OLIVEIRA ISN"T GOOD ENOUGH
Ronaldo will require at least 2 months to get back to form and start scoring goals again. He just isn't worth all that money Real are asking for him. Oliveira is good, some people just need to give him a chance, don't label someone as 'not good enough' when we haven't even seen him play once for us, it just isn't fair

What han2503 said...but I've just about given up on him coming over.
I'm convinced...Silvio is saving every filthy penny he can to mount a winter bid for Gaucho...that's why we have all this molly-coddling with Gaucho's elder brother...

At this moment Oliveira is as good as it gets

You know what...I'm not scared anymore, the past few weeks starting with the Crespo incident have made a fatalist out of me...
Sh!t happens..so what, wipe ur face and move on...there's always next season...and there's always Ronaldinho's transfer to look forward to..
you know what's reallly scary though...the thought that Silvio won't transfer gaucho now...but wait till he is 30!!!
So no transfers for another 4 years..
Sadistic laughter of course...
I get your point... In 4 years we can also buy Gerrard...and Klose...he'll be only 32 by then. That's the master plan of our officials! Players like Tevez, Torres and even Klose are way to unexperienced, so we buy mediocre players instead of them to fill the gap untill they're experienced enough
Posted by: I_Rossoneri Aug 27 2006, 08:58 PM
It wouldn't surprise me if got Ronaldinho next season or maybe sooner

That is IF we even get Oliveira, from what is coiming out now and goal.com removing him from the transfer list I'm beginning to think that we won't even get him

Experience is great to have, yet it is kind of overrated

If Ronaldinho plays in any of the CL games, then we can forget about him coming this season. I don't even think he will come next season. Barca will not let him go, I'm sure of it

If they are in any kind of debt they will need to recoup some money. And also I reckon the Oliviera signing was a smokescreen, we were in talks with Ronnies brother about a switch. Only time will tell...

I don't think so, if it was just a smokescreen they wouldn't have brought him to Milan and make him take a medical.
And why would they try to mess around now, when there are only 3 days left in the transfer market, because I'm sure that Barca won't just agree on a sale concerning him in just a few hours.

Does the Supercup match count as a CL match? Cause if it`s so, then it`s allready clear...
But I think it is too late for a Gaucho switch...it will be good if we get even Ricardo

No I don't think it counts. But you're right it's too late for Goucho even if it was possible.
Let's hope that they will at least make the Oliveira switch by tomorrow official
