Hmm, in fact, if I don't know his father is Paolo, I will guess he is Pirlo's son.

But at the moment, no one can sure that C.Maldini will be Maldini III, Cruft II or Maradona II ... smile.gif

Remember Weah Junior 19 year-old now and he even stand behind Adregmani ...

i think Il Capitano started as a striker, then they started to move him to the back

Huge expectation. And this could hurt him. I sure that already in games ,children trying to prove something against him.

yer i agree with you, i think he should just concentrate on his game and try to get as fas as possible

Now, am I mistaken, or is he really Carlo's son?

http://www.acmilan.com/InfoPage.aspx?id=30553

Posted by: Tennie Mar 23 2007, 12:17 PM

Not sure. But Carletto was coaching Parma during that time. The picture of Davide in the Forza Milan magazine I have shows a boy who /does/ sort of resemble Carletto. (Sorry, don't have a scanner. It's the November 2006 issue).

Posted by: dst Feb 5 2008, 04:57 PM

All talk about the lil' heroes of the rossoneri colors here!

For the official page of the youth teams click http://www.acmilan.com/InfoPage.aspx?id=267

Posted by: dst Feb 5 2008, 05:08 PM

The biggest hopes of young players coming into the senior squad (according to what's being said... ) from these programs lie with the following Primavera players:

GK:
OFFREDI Daniel

DF:
BRUSCAGIN Matteo
COSNER Andrea
DARMIAN Matteo

MF:
GUERCI Alex
LUNATI Matteo

AMF:
DI GENNARO DAVIDE (on loan to Bologna)

FW:
UMUNEGBU Kingsley
PALOSCHI Alberto
AUBAMEYANG Pierre

---

Ancelotti's son Davide plays for the Primavera.

---

Christian Maldini, the first born son of God, currently (Feb 2008) plays for the U14 team of Esordienti B, which is the class of '96. He is listed as a defender.

See http://www.acmilan.com/infoPage.aspx?id=51022

In the same team, there is also a kid called Christian Galliani... anyone knows if he's related to Adriano Galliani?

Posted by: Tennie Feb 5 2008, 05:20 PM

So far during the Torneo di Viareggio, tuttomercatoweb has been absolutely gushing about Kingsley Umunegbu. They really really like the kid.

Lunati has been loaned, btw, to San Marino til the end of the season.

We can always buy strikers from Brazil. wink.gif

Albertazzi is highly rated although i have not seen him play. We have a goalkeeper (cant remember his name at the moment), but he is also highly rated

Edit: I dont think the keeper is on the Primavera team, probably a level below

I want a truly great talent to come out from the youth teams!! It's been so long...

Why isn't Di Gennaro on that list?? He's supposedly better than Paloschi? At least more talented?

Posted by: Darunia Mar 5 2008, 07:13 PM

Anyone know how Di Gennaro is doing this season? Bologna is doing well.

Posted by: Tennie Mar 5 2008, 07:24 PM

Di Gennaro isn't getting a whole lot of playing time, but when he is put on (almost always as a sub), he seems to do well. Average player rating of 6.5. Bologna are doing very well in Serie B and have a very good chance of being promoted up to A next year.

Posted by: Tennie Mar 14 2008, 10:50 PM

2 Primavera players, Michelangelo Albertazzi and Filippo Perucchini, have been called up to the U17s for the upcoming Group Phase games in the Euro U17 championships.

Albertazzi is a highly-rated (left) back and Perucchini is a keeper.

Yay for the ragazzi! 96.gif

Bad incident this past weekend for the Primavera.

Andrea Cosner - the original first-choice striker for the Primavera this year - was playing his first game after 7 months off due to a torn ACL. Partway through the game, he injured the same knee again and had to be stretchered off. sad.gif

Posted by: dst Apr 28 2008, 08:18 PM

****! That's sad! sad.gif

Posted by: acid911 Apr 28 2008, 08:28 PM

Oh, dear. Not the knee! It takes so much out a player, particularly a football player, trying to recover from a knee injury. sad.gif

Eew! sad.gif

Davide Di Gennaro is part of the Azzurini U20 team that's currently partiicpating in the Four Nations tournament (with Germany, Switzerland, and Austria).

Radio Morte had interviewed Luca Antonini ... A player co-owned by Milan and Empoli, and he showed his desire to play for Napoli above all other teams: "If I was to choose, I would choose Napoli. But my contract is with Milan and Empoli, and they will meet up to decide my future, since there are several clubs who I am receiving attention from, but if I was to choose I would put Napoli on top of the pile."

Posted by: Diavolo Jun 3 2008, 01:20 AM

For the info!

Italy's U-19 has qualified for the final stages (last eight teams) of European championship. They were winners in 2003 and this is their first appearance in the finals in four years. In the last qualifying round (Elite round) they beat Sweden, Switzerland and France - all with 2-0. Paloschi scored against Sweden and Switzerland.
Also 3 other players from our youth system have taken part in this games. Darmian and Bruscagin (both defenders, class 89) have played all 3 games, while our youngest player (is said to be one of the most talented defenders - Albertazzi - who is also Italy's U-17 captain, class 91 and is already playing for our primavera although he is 2 years younger) has played the whole game against Switzerland and the second half against France. With Milan young defenders Italy didn't concede a single goal smile.gif!

For the moment it looks like we have a bright future ahead of us - at least for our defence.

If you are interested here are the dates:
Final tournament - Group stage 14 - 20 July 2008
Semi-finals 23 July 2008
Final 26 July 2008

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Jun 3 2008, 08:42 AM

Thank heavens for that. We need centre backs. Nesta is going to leave in another 3 or 4 years.

But it's the complete lack of the mid-field that bugs me.

Posted by: Tennie Jun 16 2008, 01:52 AM

It's a day late, but a belated happy 12th birthday to future captain Christian Maldini! 96.gif

Also of note: the May issue of Forza Milan (they show up here a month late) has two interviews with primavera players -- Alberto Paloschi and Matteo Bruscagin, who also figured in the little Azzurrini U19 games. They're nice interviews and they seem like good kids. If anyone's interested in details, pm me.

There's not usually a whole lot of news on the 12 year olds, but their record (see first page of this thread for link to the primavera pages on acmilan.com) seems to be pretty good. I count 11 goals as having been conceded all year.

Livorno have loaned two of our Primavera boys. One is Perticone, the other i cant remember. Perticone is a defender is memory serves correct.

Good way for them to get experience (if they play regularly that is)

Edit: Yeah Guerci was highly rated. He is/was the captain of the Primavera's

And Matteo Bruscagin is going out on loan to Serie C side Monza.

Posted by: Tennie Jun 24 2008, 02:38 PM

Offredi was the Primavera keeper, yes. He's decent enough. It's the Allievi Nazionale (class of 91) goalkeeper who's supposed to be a real talent. His name is Perrucchini. He should be the Berretti or Primavera keeper next year.

Maurizio Ganz's son Simoneandrea will be playing with the Allievi Regionali team (this is the team for 15 year olds).

I remember him! Good luck to his kid.

MILAN - Simoneandrea Ganz will play next season with the Allievi Regionali of Milan. A nice epilogue for the son of one of the protagonists of the 16th Scudetto victory, the tricolore won in the 1998-99 season thanks to decisive goals by Maurizio Ganz against Piacenza, Bari, Parma, and Sampdoria. Without those goals, the title victory would not have been possible. Ganz still feels very close to that triumph.

Particularly satisfied about this are Ariedo Braida ("In football the difference is made by human relationships and small things, that's why Simoneandrea will be one of ours, we have an excellent relationship with his parents") and Ruben Buriani, the man responsible for the youth sector: "We will put no pressure on him. He will start to work with Fulvio Florin. Then we'll see whether to let him go to the Allievi Nazionali with Walter De Vecchi."

And what about father Ganz? "It's not entirely true that he's like me. Simoneandrea is physically stronger and doesn't just think about goals, but also about the team." The young striker will be on training camp in Cles (Turin) with his new team mates, starting from 18 August, after having played three years in Masseroni Marchese, the Milanese sporting club who host the Adidas Cup matches throughout the year.

This is from the official website. I'm wondering if this is really good news or aren't we a bit to much..nepotistic?

The market for primavera age players is hopping right along. Milan have loaned (with right to buy) one Piermaria Carini, a 17 year old striker from Padova. [17 is generally the age for the Berretti, the team currently coached by Franco Baresi, unless you're REALLY good like Albertazzi, who's playing with the primavera.]

Posted by: Tennie Jul 11 2008, 03:38 PM

The final call up list for the U19s has been posted and all 4 Milan players made the final cut: Albertazzi, Bruscagin, Darmian and Paloschi.

Well done, ragazzi! 96.gif 96.gif 96.gif

I heard we loaned Ardemagni out again, he was in the Primavera a couple of seasons ago and was amazing - scored bags of goals. Don't know how old he is, think it's Triestina he's gone to.

Posted by: Tennie Jul 12 2008, 04:04 AM

Ardemagni was at Pro Patria last season, I believe.

Posted by: vahid Jul 12 2008, 08:54 AM

Yea Ardemagni (21) is at Pro Patria.but i think he is a complete Patria player, not a loaned player

Hi all,

I know paloschi scored today for u19 1-1 against greece. Has anybody watched the game, news on the other milan players and news on them.
thanks

Anyone knows what's happened to last year's Primavera players?

There were some promising players there Offredi, Bruscagin, Cosner, Guerci, Umunegbu,...

I only know about Darmian, Paloschi, Di Gennaro and the Aub's...

By the way, I don't want to be bitchy but I don't like it that former players are in a sub-forum... I don't think there are so many threads that a new category was needed anyway...

Hey there, check http://www.milanfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6259 thread!

Bruscagin has gone on loan to (I think) a Serie C side, as has the Primavera keeper. I'll poke around and see if I can come up with a full list.

FYI the new youth team squad lists are up on acmilan.com. Alberigo Evani is now the primavera coach and Franco Baresi remains Berretti coach.

Of note is the young Wellington Feliciano De Morais CAFU, a defender in the primavera who was accompanied to Milanello this morning by his father.

Yeah, I saw that a moment ago... his father is... our own Cafu, right?

Posted by: Tennie Jul 25 2008, 03:01 PM

Yep, his dad is our Marcus Cafu! I don't know where young Wellington will play in defense, but he IS listed as a defender.

Of note regarding other young Milan players: the one that the Italian press are buzzing about right now is Michelangelo Albertazzi, who plays as LB for the U19s. The kid is really good - if you get a chance to watch the U19 final tomorrow, you'll get to see him play. He's definitely one for the future.

Who do the Italian media hail as the best young prospect nowadays? I guess Fiorillo is one of them...

And have you read anything about Lazio's Tuia!?

Posted by: Tennie Jul 25 2008, 03:17 PM

Right now, they're liking most of the U19 squad, dst. smile.gif There are a lot of positive vibes, at least in Gazzetta and Controcampo. Albertazzi is the little rossoneri they're talking most about. They also like Fiorillo, Okaka, Forestieri, etc. There's been some talk about young Tuia, but not a whole lot at least in the stuff I've read.

Posted by: dst Jul 25 2008, 03:26 PM

You mean Albertazzi is the most talked-about player or the most talked-about rossonero?

Posted by: Tennie Jul 25 2008, 03:32 PM

A little of both, dst. He's definitely the most talked-about rossonero defender (poor Darmian and Bruscagin hardly get a mention) and he's getting as much press as Paloschi. He's also being talked about a good fair bit because he's the youngest guy on the squad (a full year younger than Paloschi, for example) and has played his way into the starting lineup. The pundits seem to like him.

Posted by: dst Jul 25 2008, 03:37 PM

Nice! Thanks for all the info!!!

Now here's a thought: Albertazzi is going to be our great LB for the next 20 years and Darmian will be our great CB for the next 20 years who will also be a bit overshadowed by our new great LB... biggrin.gif sleepysmiley03.gif

Posted by: kidfunka Jul 25 2008, 04:31 PM

albertazzi is the second youngest playr in the tournament behind a greek defender forgot his name that is also being linked with the likes of cheslea and arsenal . this 2 names are being mentioned the most since they both can play in the u17..

also di gennaro has been sold as part of the borriello deal.

Posted by: Tennie Jul 25 2008, 04:33 PM

Er. DiGennaro hasn't been entirely sold. He's on a co-ownership deal at Genoa, just like Abate is at Toro.

And I like your thought there, dst, though young Christian may turn out to be a centreback or (gasp) a RB. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Tennie Aug 1 2008, 11:05 PM

Speaking of Di Gennaro, he scored the winning (and only) goal for Genoa today in a friendly v. AEK Athens. 96.gif

Matteo Bruscagin, currently on loan to Monza, has been called up for the next round of U20 games.

Posted by: Tennie Sep 2 2008, 11:27 AM

We do. We just co owned his...assets...from Genoa to Reggina. wink.gif He's at Reggina on loan.

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Sep 2 2008, 11:59 AM

So genoa has sold their half to Reggina??

Posted by: Fillipo Simone Sep 2 2008, 12:22 PM

Reggina brought in Di Gennaro and Djordje Rakic a 22-year-old promising Serbian striker. I'd take a bet and say he'll be even better then Viola's Jovetic this season..

Posted by: Tennie Sep 2 2008, 12:26 PM

Looks like Genoa and Milan both agreed to a loan. There's no ownership or co ownership involved in Di Gennaro's playing for Reggina this year.

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Sep 2 2008, 12:30 PM

Now I'm totally confused. So Di Gennaro was never co-owned to Genoa in exchange for Borriello. He was only loaned?? If so, then this makes sense. Good, I want to see this lad Di Gennaro play. I'd rather he develop to be good enough to replace Seedorf in 2-3 year's time.

Posted by: Tennie Sep 2 2008, 12:41 PM

Hee. Nono, Jack. Milan and Genoa co-own Di Gennaro. That was part of the Borriello deal. The co-ownership didn't change; both teams just agreed to loan him to Reggina for a year. I think it's a good move for him - he'll get playing time for Reggina because with the late additions Genoa made, he wasn't likely to play much.

Centrocampisti: Bonaventura (Atalanta), Di Tacchio (Ascoli), Eramo (Piacenza), Martinez (Ternana), Poli (Sassuolo), Rossi Fausto (Juventus);
Attaccanti: Marconi (Atalanta), Okaka (Roma), Paloschi (Parma), Pasquato (Empoli).

Milan sign nine-year-old
Thursday 25 September, 2008
Milan have signed a nine-year-old Mexican boy, who has already been compared to Lionel Messi, Sergio Agüero and Diego Maradona.

In a piece of forward planning, the Rossoneri have pounced to secure the services of Edgardo Obregon.

The tiny trequartista had been learning the ropes at Guadalajara outfit Chivas where he has been nicknamed 'The Cat.'

Obregon impressed at the recent Milan Friendly youth tournament and was reportedly also approached by Barcelona.

“He's the heir to Messi, Aguero and Maradona,” Spanish newspaper Marca claimed.

Many of Europe's top clubs are recruiting players at a young age as the race to find the superstars of tomorrow becomes ever more competitive.

I know you want to take a swipe at Galliani bro...but the thing is Galliani already gave that interview, I think 2 seasons back when he was saying that Milan are looking at being more like Arsenal than Real Madrid.

- I think it makes sense, because it is the only truly sustainable business plan. The trouble with the transfer season we had is, we're gonna require seasons like this every 3-4 years to maintain quality

- We realised, we have to be like Arsenal. Everybody cribs about Arsenal stealing youth. But in the long run it makes sense.

I would just like to say that since it is extremely unlikely we will be able to tempt a world class defender away from their club we must make every attempt to try and groom our own youth players to become world class players. Whenever i see Juve's youth squad i am almost always jealous, especially in the way they intergrate them into the squad. While we will never be able to get Chiellini or the next big defending star (Santacroce/Criscito) we need to develop our players. It would be a shame to neglect Darmian or Albertazzi because i believe that at least one of them can go all the way

Abate is one of the very few Toro players getting consistently good marks this year. The press at least really like the kid.

Offredi has been getting consistently high marks -- 6.5 on the Italian scale is pretty high for a goalie and 7 is...REALLY good. Sure, it's for a Serie C team, but he's apparently really doing quite well.

whoearthepatriots can probably offer some elaboration on how young Alberto is doing at Parma since he's the resident expert.

Posted by: Tennie Dec 19 2008, 09:37 PM

Speaking of young Alberto, he's gone in in the 29th min of Parma's game v. Citadella. The game's still scoreless (in the 35th).

EDIT: +1 cookie to Paloschi for the gorgeous goal he scored in the 74th (so far the only one of the game). 96.gif

Parma won the game, 1-0. They're temporarily in first place in Serie B (the majority of B games are played on Saturday).

Note: Parma played the entire second half and the last few minutes of the first on 10 men. They had a guy sent off right after Paloschi came on. Talked to someone who watched the game and they said young Alberto's goal was really quite good and that he played well throughout.

heres Channel 4's take on the Parma game Paloschi late goal hero....hes learning from the king Super Pippo !!

Parma 1-0 Cittadella

Paloschi’s late strike gave 10-man Parma a precious victory over giant-killers Cittadella to end 2008 on a high. The Gialloblu’s 13-match unbeaten run was ended last week and it looked to be another stumble when the minnows had the better of the first half with Bonvissuto going close, Reginaldo picking up an injury and Falcone’s dismissal for a reaction foul on Meggiorini. Parma survived Volpe’s header thanks to a stunning Pavarini save and moments later Paloschi ended his goal drought by nodding in Antonelli’s cross at the back post.

Scorers: Paloschi 74 (P)

Sent off: Falcone 38 (P)
Parma: Pavarini; Troest, Falcone, A Lucarelli; Castellini, Morrone, Mariga, Kutuzov (M Rossi 46), Antonelli; Reginaldo (Paloschi 29), C Lucarelli

Cittadella: Pierobon; Turato, Pesoli, Cherubin, Teoldi; Volpe (De Gasperi 86), Castiglia, Iori, Carteri (Oliveira 80); Bonvissuto (P Rossi 70), Meggiorini

Here's a somewhat belated report on how the former Primavera players did last week:

Alberto Paloschi (Parma): Voto 6.5 (Serie B.)

Luca Antonelli (Parma): Voto 6 (Serie B.)

Matteo Ardemagni (Triestina): Voto 6 (Serie B.)

Romano Perticone (Livorno): Voto 6.5 (Serie B.)

Ignazio Abate (Torino): Voto 6.5

Daniel Offredi (Pro Sesto): Voto 6 (Serie C)

Alex Guerci (Pergocrema): Voto 6.5 (Serie C)

Emanuele Orlandi (Carpenedolo): Voto 6 (Serie C)

Simone Malacarne (Pizzighettone): Voto 6.5 (Serie C)

Also of note: Former Primavera centerback Andrea Cosner is currently at Seire C side Reggiana on a co-ownership deal, but Serie B side Ascoli apparently want him in January.

Posted by: Tennie Jan 14 2009, 01:15 PM

Perticone did really well for Livorno at the weekend (vote of 6) and Offredi continues to do well for Pro Sesto (vote of 6.5).

The primavera play Atalanta today. There's a note on acmilan.com stating that 'first team players Darmian and Cardacio will be playing with the primavera' in the game.

Posted by: Tennie Jan 25 2009, 05:25 AM

The primavera beat Mantova's primavera today 2-0. Goals scored by Scapuzzi (a striker, 2nd youngest player on the squad at 17; there's 1 16 year old defender) and Ruggeri on a penalty. Found that last a bit interesting as Ruggeri is a defender and they're not normally designated takers of penalties. I think he's the primavera captain this year though. Maybe that's why. Both boys are local, from Milan and the Como area respectively.

EDIT: I just checked and the Giovanissimi C are still unbeaten in first place in their age group and still have conceded only one goal. This is the team on which a young Christian Maldini plays.

Alberto Paloschi (Parma): Voto 6.5 (Serie B.)

Ignazio Abate (Torino): Voto 6.5

Romano Perticone (Livorno): Voto 6.5 (Serie B.)

Willy Aubameyang (Avellino): Voto 6 (Serie B.)

Daniel Offredi (Pro Sesto): Voto 6.5 (Serie C. note: they gave him this rating even though he conceded 4 goals. must have been a really bad defense for him not to be blamed for that.)

Simone Malacarne (Pizzighettone) : Voto 6 (Serie C)

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Jan 27 2009, 07:13 AM

Offredi needs to be dragged out, into Serie B or something. He's been doing well enough. Paloschi, seems to be having a series of average-good performances. I don't see him benching Pippo at this rate. The same for Abate. Damn...there doesn't look to be anyone who's gonna crack the first team.

I love his emotion...and his pippo-esque celebration

I was discussing with a friend over at a community on Live journal about Albertino and this is what she had to say about his celebration:
y'know, wee alberto is still searching for his signature celebration. I suggest him look no further cuz nobody can pull the pippo face off like him

Posted by: Tennie Feb 3 2009, 07:25 PM

Hah. Indeed not. He really does imitate Pippo to perfection in goal celebrations.

Young Alberto really did well Saturday for Parma, scoring one of their goals and getting a rating of 7 for the match.

Ignazio Abate also did well on Sunday against the cugini - got a 7 for that mach.

Davide di Gennaro played well too, for Reggina in their game. Got a 6.5.

Ignazio Abate (Torino): Voto 7

Luca Antonelli (Parma): Voto 5.5

Alberto Paloschi (Parma): Voto 6

Daniel Offredi (Pro Sesto): Voto 6.5

We should be happy for Di Gennaro, maybe someone higher up isnt a complete imbecile and noticed his good display. He just may be given a chance now

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Feb 10 2009, 07:39 AM

We always knew, Di Gennaro was outrageously talented. I think his coach (Galli?) said he was the most talented of all the primavera. Much much more than Paloschi. But his work rate wasn't so good supposedly.

Posted by: Ro Rossonera Feb 10 2009, 02:35 PM

As hurt as I was, I was very happy for Di Gennaro and his goal. He proved that our babies (youth team) can score even if it seems the management doesn't realize that.

Posted by: Tennie Feb 10 2009, 04:03 PM

The Primavera are participating in the Viareggio Cup tournament, a big tournament of youth teams with clubs from around the world.

They're playing the primavera from UNAM Pumas (from Mexico) today. At the half, Milan lead 1-0, with the goal by Angelilli.

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Feb 10 2009, 04:46 PM

@Ro: I wouldn't let this perturb me too much. We've had Pozzi score against us as well. Doesn't mean he's Milan quality.

In fact another reason, why I'm not all too keen about this is that Di Gennaro has only made it to the first team coz Reggina's dealing with a lot of injuries. I believe it is the same with Paloschi and the whole Lucarelli mess. So I'm still undecided and I'm guessing they'd be better off where they are for now.

I don't think Paloschi is the Pippo equivalent of Pato - a teen prodigy. Nor do I think Di Gennaro has it in him yet to replace any of our treqqies.

It's a pity he's not being given a chance with the first team.

Posted by: Tennie Feb 12 2009, 09:23 PM

Much as I wish things were different, Ro, I don't think either of us should hold our breath to see Darmian or any other Primavera being given a chance. Seems more fashionable to buy kids the same age from Brazil (Mattioni, for what it's worth, plays the same position as Darmian - though dst and I quibble over whether Darmian's better as a cb or a rb).

The primavera lost the second match in Torneo di Viareggio (or Coppa Canevale) against Vicenza. The Primavera took the lead in the 18th minute by a shot from Strasser but Vicenza equalaized and took the lead in the second half.

Milan - Vicenza 1 - 2

Perucchini;
Darmian, Romagnoli, Colombo, Ruggeri;
Strasser, De Vito, Novinic;
Osuji, Doukara, Furlan.

Subs: IN- Angelilli, Gianola and Scapuzzi OUT- Furlan, Doukara och De Vito.

Posted by: whoarethepatriots Feb 18 2009, 11:38 PM

I wouldnt really call him versatile (right sided player and Trequartista) but i do agree that he deserves a shot with us. You cant be a star for the Azzurini by being average. However, Carlo will never play him, so staying at Toro for another year may not be bad (for him)

+1

But then again, I'm terrible in judging young wingers abilities to play as fullbacks. And Milan on the other hand made a half-decent job with Janku and a really decent with Serginho. I know he wasn't the god of LB's, but he was class..what a pitty he had to fight Ro Carlos in the NT.

Posted by: dst Feb 19 2009, 05:21 PM

Serginho was bad defensively too and I remember crying about his incompetence at the back but his runs upfront more than made up for this. Janku is nowhere near him offensively.

Also of note, the Giovanissimi C (where Christian Maldini plays) continues to win and not concede goals. They're still in first place in their division.

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Feb 23 2009, 01:43 PM

Too bad we can't get any specifics of the players...is it truly a new golden generation?

Posted by: Tennie Feb 23 2009, 01:50 PM

No real idea, Jack. All I can ever find about the Giovanissimi is the results and (I think next month maybe) the odd article in Forza Milan.

Posted by: dst Feb 23 2009, 01:53 PM

Can they really be that good? It does not mean that they will evolve into great players but still, it's amazing what those kids do. huh.gif

Posted by: Tennie Feb 24 2009, 04:21 PM

So the Giovanissimi C won the Torneo di Gallipoli (traditional tournament held this time of year for the age group). They beat the baby cugini 4-3 on penalties and a Milan player (Matteo Gargantini, a midfielder) won the fair play award for the tournament. (they went through the tournament without conceding in regular time and only let in the penalties).

Yay for the baby rossoneri!

96.gif 96.gif 96.gif The Giovanissimi C are keeping their clean sheet record - they've just won the first round of the derby, beating the baby cugini 1-0.

Congrats to them

what age group are the Giovanissimi C. Under 16's?

Posted by: Tennie Mar 4 2009, 08:39 PM

The Giovanissimi C have conceded ONE goal all season. They're the group that Christian Maldini plays in. They're in the 12-13 age range.

The coach of the Giovanissimi C is a former coach from the Atalanta primavera system. Could help explain why they're doing so well.

It sounds very funny laugh.gif

Personally i think Atalanta's youth system is the best in Italy, so its no surprise that the Giovanissimi C are doing so well under an ex Atalanta coach

Posted by: Fillipo Simone Mar 4 2009, 10:34 PM

Exactly, Atalanta's school is top. We once had a good basis there as well. Hope we can rebuild that realtionship.

Posted by: Il Capitano Mar 5 2009, 03:43 AM

Good to hear that the Giovanissimi C are in good hands. Maybe Galliani should do the same and hire a good coach for the primavera also, they have not been doing so well these past years.

The Giovanissimi C kept a clean sheet again this past weekend, beating Pro Sesto 3-0. 96.gif

Do you know how many games they kept a clean sheet Tennie?

Posted by: Tennie Mar 9 2009, 03:34 PM

They've only conceded two goals all season. smile.gif They won both games they conceded in too. By my count, it's 14 games undefeated.

Posted by: CrazyMilanFan Mar 9 2009, 04:29 PM

and i think the Primavera lost to inter 2-0

Posted by: Tennie Mar 9 2009, 04:53 PM

They did. sad.gif The Primavera is not doing well at all this year.

outside of a mortician is their a more depressing job in the world then playing with the Milan primavera :S
Of course i'm joking but we can't say we have parma/atalanta and maybe even juve youth development and some of it has to fall on the coach, some on the management.

Posted by: Ro Rossonera Mar 9 2009, 09:24 PM

In the new forza milan magazine they have the Giovanissimi C team with their pics and everything...I'll scan it and post it here if you guys want.

Christian Maldini has changed so much since the last time I've seen him.

(he needs a haircut. too long in this one). The interview with their coach in that issue is nice too. Glad you got the mag, Ro!

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Mar 10 2009, 06:22 AM

Now get to work Tennie. The interview...chop chop!

The Primavera (finally) won! They beat Brescia 3-2 today. smile.gif

The Giovanissimi C play Atalanta tomorrow.

Posted by: Ro Rossonera Mar 15 2009, 03:36 AM

yay.gif I'm happy they finally won!

Posted by: Tennie Mar 16 2009, 01:56 PM

Gosh. Every Milan youth team won this weekend. That's ten different teams by age group.

And yes, the Giovanissimi C kept their clean sheet record, defeating their counterparts from Atalanta 1-0. smile.gif

Viudez scored for Primavera in 1-1 draw against Cagliari smile.gif

Posted by: Ro Rossonera Mar 19 2009, 02:54 AM

I can't imagine what he's feeling...going from playing with the first team at one team to being thrown in with the primavera.

congratulations none the less.

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Mar 19 2009, 05:03 AM

I actually reckon it's a smart move. In case UEFA passes any funny rules, Viudez would count as a primavera product right?

Posted by: Ro Rossonera Mar 19 2009, 05:20 AM

No idea...but I guess

Posted by: Tennie Mar 19 2009, 06:57 PM

Personnel update on the Giovanissimi C: folks knew/know that Christian Maldini plays on that team. so too do the twin sons of former Milan goalkeeper Valerio Fiori. One is a striker and one is a defender. There's a Galliani on that squad too but I don't know if he's any relation to Zio Fester.

Here are the call ups for the Italy U21 game (scheduled for Wed. Mar 25) against Austria:

Questa la lista dei giocatori convocati da Casiraghi:
Portieri: Fiorillo (Sampdoria), Seculin (Fiorentina);
Difensori: Ariaudo (Juventus), Bellusci (Ascoli), Crescenzi (Roma), Darmian (Milan), Malomo (Roma), Ranocchia (Bari), Renzetti (Albinoleffe);
Centrocampisti: Barillà (Reggina), Bolzoni (Inter), Castiglia (Cittadella), Cia (Triestina), Di Gennaro (Reggina), Pasquato (Empoli), Poli (Sassuolo);
Attaccanti: Immobile (Juventus), Mendicino (Lazio), Paloschi (Parma)

3 Milan (or Milan-owned) players in the group.

This is the 'new' U21, as there are a bunch of guys who've rolled off due to age. I'm a little surprised not to see Santon on the list.

Posted by: Ro Rossonera Mar 20 2009, 05:39 PM

Wow that's weird...why would he not put Santon on the list?

Could it be that Lippi is going to call him up? He said he would...but didn't say when.

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Mar 21 2009, 04:34 AM

laugh.gif LMAO at a striker named Immobile. I guess that would be worse than being Berbatov. laugh.gif

Posted by: Zed.D Mar 21 2009, 07:51 PM

Immobile laugh.gif laugh.gif that's really funny!

Posted by: Tennie Mar 23 2009, 12:09 PM

The Primavera won again! smile.gif They beat Cagliari 2-1. By the way, even though they're well into midtable in the primavera league, they're in the semis for the primavera cup.

I'm very sad to report that the Giovanissimi C conceded two goals this weekend. sad.gif They did, however, beat Brescia 4-2.

Posted by: Ro Rossonera Mar 24 2009, 01:00 AM

Stupid Brescia for ruining the clean sheet.

yay.gif Yay for the Primavera though!

Posted by: dst Mar 24 2009, 07:05 PM

What? 2 goals!?!? The kids should be fined and their coach must be fired! Damn you Seedorf!
