I never go to acmilan.com. I'm hoping Galliani will notice this and realize our website is not half as good as Chelsea's or a lot of other clubs.

QUOTE (dst @ Jan 12 2007, 06:27 PM)
I'd never argue that...

but the match you chose is not telling. Materazzi's goal was from point-blank range and Pippo's was well... I might check that one again cause I think the defence was still in midfield...  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) He's not no 2 goal keeper and Czech's attack wouldn't have even scored once even if they were still playing. Oh and he can block penalties too!!  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

All I'm saying is that for Cech only... Chelski fans are allowed to brag about a bit!
*

Of course.

But Cech will always come in second to Buffon. For me the top 3 keepers in the world are Buffon who comes in at an undisputed number 1 spot, then Cech and then Dida.

btw Buffon can also block penalties, 2 words, Old Trafford

Still saved.

If a penalty is well taken 99.9% of the time the keeper won't save it, no matter how good he is

I'm not saying that he's the best there is out there, far from it.

But he can save penalties. I mean he's no penalty killer like Lehmann or the Portugese NT keeper (Is it Ricardo?) but he can still save them. Just like we can't base the head to head Buffon and Cech head in the WC game we can't base his abilities on saving penalties just because of the WC final shoot out.

But again, if a penalty is taken well, the keeper will most probably be unable to save it, no matter how good he is

Well we've seen Dida perform unbelievable saves on penalties but yeah if the penalty is taken too good (up corner) it's impossible for anyone to block it. Buffon has everything a keeper needs and at the highest level too but in this case there's something more than he lacks: The keeper has to win the penalty taker in order to save the penalty!! He has to learn how to think what he thinks. I've never seen Buffon deciding where to jump that way, he mostly seems to do it in random...

Agreed on that.

Maybe we should keep Dida and Get Buffon, that way Buffon is our keeper during open play, Dida when it's time for a penalty shoot out (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

we should definitely get Buffon!! In fact I'd rather we let them take Barzagli easily (cause interfering would up his price) so that we'd get an option on Buffon or something... But now that I think of it again, Galliani's still in charge. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Yeah, but then they made that exception because then Inter would be ineligible for Serie A.
