Didnt watch the match, but from ur posts I could see that Milan had a good game, especially considering Kaka didnt play.

The score itself, exactly reflects how Milan played, I'm guessing the team was attack minded. I hope this form is the basis for the rest of the season as the team need to keep it up .. Seeing as the CL is comeing in February .. We need to secure 4th place before then (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

This was the first game after the Christmas break and naturally Milan didn't play to their best. I am not that worked up by Milan's performance, the defence was a bit shaky from time to time and players like Pirlo and Brocchi did not perform to their best.
I think some of you guys were very generous with your ratings, however these are mine:

Kalac: 6 He acted a bit shaky from time to time, especially when Reggina had their huge chance in the first half. Also, I think the goal was kind of easy. A shot that was not that hard from 30 meters...hmm. Nevertheless, he did make some good saves and had no problems in the air today. A comfortable 6.

Favalli: 5,5 He was solid while acting defensely, but in the attacking department he was very modest. In other words; what you would expect from Giuseppe.

Maldini: 6 A solid performance, however he and Bonera lost track of Bianchi a number of times especially in the air. The Reggina star could've bagged another goal if he had just been more precise in his finishes. Although, he just let one goal by him. Overall a decent game and close to a 6,5.

Bonera: 6,5 Didn't make any mistakes and acted resolute in dangerous situations. We all know he's not a god with the ball at his feet, but I feel he played after his ability and was close to spotless.

Cafú: 6
As someone mentioned earlier, he started off good and had some excellent runs down the right, but after a while he lost his concentration and dropped a bit. After all, he's not a youngster anymore.

Jankulovski: 7,5 What a performance! He showed great awareness when he assisted Seedorf's 2-0 and he worked like hell for 90 minutes with consistent runs up and down the left flank. Perhaps Carlo should try Grimi behind Janku in the future?

Pirlo: 6 The goal is the only thing that keeps him above the watersurface today. He looked indolent and played careless for 90 minutes. He simply gave the ball away to cheaply in every way possible. This is not the Pirlo we know and love. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Brocchi: 5,5 Another underachiever. Didn't create anything and didn't show much defensively either. He ran for the entire game, but was very modest today. Hopefully he was just a bit tired after a tough camp in Malta.

Seedorf: 6,5 Seedorf played very well today. He was tripped to create the freekick Pirlo scored on and then scored one by himself. He moved perfectly today and showed his technical abilities in a lot of situations. Close to a 7.

Gilardino: 6 He scored again, which is very important because no other striker does. It was a truly beautiful finish too. Apart from that, he didn't do much. He doesn't work well together with Inzaghi, which we already knew, and perhaps that's why he increased his performance after Pippo was substituted.

Inzaghi: 6,5 It was a different Pippo we got to see today. He came downfield to collect the ball a number of times and used his speed to get rid of his opponents. It was just a shame that he didn't get to score. A nice header which Pelizzoli saved was the closest he came today, but overall a great performance. Strangely substituted in the 55th minute...

Gourcuff: 6 He did good to set up Gila for his goal and played with patience today. He was good both in defense and offense. Came on for Pippo in the 55th minute and did what was expected from him.

Oliveira, Simic: No ratings.

Believe me it doesn't, we were so lucky to get the 3 pts (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

No actually we got a well deserved 3 points, if u consider Kalac being a liability (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

But I think the team is playing really good compared to when it was loosing and drawing; not the score, but their overall game.

Yes we definately have improved in that respect.

But the the first 20-30 minutes in the second half where sloppy to say the least, Cafu, Brocchi and Prilo kept giving the ball away and allowed Reggina to spark counter after counter. The Reggina goal could have been prevented if we had closed down more in the midfield.

I have no doubt in my mind that we played like this because we had the 2 goal cussion, but that needs to be corrected, we need to keep focused for the entire 90 minutes, because the chances we allowed Reggina could have cost us the 3 pts if they had finished them off.

Carlo Ancelotti: “These three consecutive victories have put us back in the race for a Champions League spot, even if there are teams above us who have a game in hand. We have discovered consistency in our results and must continue along this path. Next week’s encounter with Lazio is decisive and we must prepare as best we can.”

Walter Mazzarri: “It’s the same as our performance against Inter, we played very well and still emerged defeated from San Siro. Apart from the final minutes, Milan hardly ever troubled us. We made some silly mistakes, especially on the third goal with a gift from our player. Basically, we won it for them.”

i remember 2 years ago, when in the last 10 minutes of every match the whole team was running like devils (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif) just to score a goal or one more goal.

yesterday, Milan was relaxing to match. Yes we were playing much better then in October - but overall, not even a good performance overall taking into consideration tactics and mistakes.

Well, the only we improved is our shoot efficiency, we stopped hitting the cross bar and missing clear goal chances!

Our defense is still the same mess (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Ofcourse, I'm not confusing how we played in the past to how we r playing now (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

All I'm saying is Milan deserved this win .. Not ONLY this win, but several others that the ref (and posts (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) damn u Moratti) intervened and made sure we dont challenge the Nerazzuri.

All in all, Milan's score put a smile on my face .. I'm glade Gila is scoring regularly for us .. As well as Pirlo's freekick !!!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

The Winners
Clarence Seedorf (Milan)
No Kaka? Have no fear, Seedorf is here. He already impressed in the hole against Arezzo on Thursday and he again proved to be an assist king against Reggina on Sunday. He touched an infinite number of balls throughout with quality and assurance. Kaka can heal with patience.

The Goals
Andrea Pirlo (Milan)
It may have taken longer than expected, but Andrea Pirlo finally grabbed his first League goal of the season with a trademark free-kick. The deep lying midfielder gave Reggina goalkeeper Ivan Pelizzoli no chance as he found the top corner with a sweetly taken curler.

The Numbers
Six of the best
Alberto Gilardino just can’t stop scoring. The Milan man’s strike in the 3-1 over Reggina was his sixth in his last six games. Meanwhile, Rolando Bianchi’s consolation means he is just one goal shy of a club record 11 top-flight goals in a season – achieved by Mohammed Kallon in 1999-2000 and Nicola Amoruso last season.
