It was always a given that he was going to bang them in again for them this season.

I think this game also makes it clear that we should not be going into the season with Messias as our RW starter. We're the champions and a CL team and have a Serie B level player starting at RW for us. Absolutely criminal that Ziyech is there available and we haven't gone for him.

True. What's clear is that our attacking options are really big this season. Honestly, I prefer Saelmakers there as he is much better defensively and generally puts in a big shift. We need to be careful how to play the attackers, because we have very attacking fullbacks and can risk to be caught off guard.

I don't think we need to sign Ziyech per say, although I wouldn't mind it. The options are there, it's just about keeping the balance of the team. I don't see CDK as a player who will track back much either. He's just not that type of player, as well as Ziyech. So, we'll see, it's all a matter of tactics at that point.

But, what we truly need is a CM. Do you guys think Adli could cover that position?

Only in case of emergency, but his natural position is AM.

I wish Pioli will eventually realise we need to shift CDK on the right. Messias and especially Salad are not good enough to be starting games. Brahim and Adli can fight for that AM position.

They won it at the death. F@ckers!

Lecce is going to be a nightmare game for all sides though. Did you see that pitch? Truly looked awful.

Inter for me are still the best first 11 side in the league, but they just have something about them under Inzaghi where you can see them start to lose their sh!t as soon as things don't go their way. It's what undid them last season and it's obviously still there.

Alexis works hard and covers a lot more, but he gives you next to nothing in attack. Ziyech would take our attack to the next level imo. We'd have an attack on par with some of the best sides in Europe imo with him as well.

Messias and Leao need to de better with tracking back. Messias asleep on that 2nd goal. The 1st one off the corner can be sort of forgiven because we were clearly not switched on yet, not to mention Udine are such a physical side and have height on us.

We really need to improve on the high balls. Te talk will be that our rock solid defense from last season conceded twice, but the goals were very clear lapses at the very start of the half and at the very end. Pioli said they've been working on set-piece defending, at least it is a comfort that they're working on one of our biggest weaknesses from last season

Atalanta up next. I think we can do the job there as well. Hopefully we'll have Sandro back and maybe that new midfielder we absolutely need.

CDK looked absolutely class. Give me him and Diaz for the next game instead of Messias pls

In all honesty we could have done better today. True, the match might have very well finished 5-2, but we made some silly mistakes and let Udinese counter way too easily. Concentration was not very high all the time. Bennacer for instance lost the ball way too often, and Leao was horrid with his decision-making. Udinese also sort of gifted us two goals.

CDK already showed some gimplses of pure class. And I really liked what Origi brought to the game. But Pioli should play him CF and not wide.

Yeah we were sloppy but it was clear the condition of the players wasn't at its best yet, for both sides. Bennacer had some really nice plays as well as some bad ones. Fatigue was clearly starting to set in, and players seems to be struggling a bit there especially after the first 30 minutes or so there was a drop off.

Silly mistakes we can correct. What's important right now is to keep putting points on the board. I don't think any of the teams looked particularly good. Inter truly looked bad in that 2nd half that I saw against Lecce. It will be interesting to see Juve, Roma and Napoli tomorrow as well. To see who looks the best. But the trick isn't really to come out there in peak condition, we don't want to burn out too early before some of the players head off to the World Cup. I think we'll see gradual improvement as the games start coming quicker. Plus we were playing with Krunic as a CDM, and while I do acknowledge that he's a good Jack of all Trades type player, it shows in certain moments that we were softer through the centre with him there.

As for Origi, I doubt that Pioli will play him as a winger often. Probably just wanted to give him a small run out since he's barely even trained with the group. And with Giroud on it's natural that Origi would go to the wide position.

Man, the interisti are whining like little babies about our penalty. Not only, in my opinion, it was a fair penalty to give, but it was the first penalty conceded to us since Milan-Spezia in January! And we all know how that game ended...

Anyway, I'm really glad we got the old Rebic back. Please just don't let him get injured again throughout the season. With him, CDK, Adli and Origi our attacking force will have more than doubled from last year. And that's exactly what we needed. I also got really good vibe from Origi. I hope Pioli starts playing him more regularly, cos the guy is severely underrated by the public opinion.

I also really hope yesterday's Leao performance was just a fluke. The worst thing that can happen to him now is the hype getting to his head. He needs to remain humble and work even harder if he wants to improve his deficiencies and become top class.

Interisti? Did you see the amount of whining and crying from the Roma fans?? That's even more hilarious because they think they're going to be part of the Scudetto equation. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

The penalty was soft but clear. Calabria got to the ball first, and while he went over it so he fluffed the chance, he was clearly clattered into very aggressively and could have been seriously injured as a result.

This Rebic for me is our best striker and the one that works best in this system. We play much more fluidly with him than with Giroud up front. Of course we still need to see what Origi brings to the table, but it is going to be interesting to see how Pioli handles all these options. Not to mention we have serious players coming off the bench when we need to change things around. RW is still the obvious weak link.

Leao has always had this issue with looking lazy at times. And when his attacking game is not on point, the other deficiencies are more glaring.

Still look like sh!t. Luckily leading now, but unless they get a proper midfield they're not going to be doing anything this season imo

Saw most of the Juve game. They were sh*t. Only reason they scored 3 was because Sassuolo's defense was even shittier.
