Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani was impressed with Marco Storari’s debut in the Rossoneri goal. “He offered an excellent performance,†he said.
The goalkeeper was signed from Messina in January and made his first appearance for his new club in the match with Livorno on Sunday, as both Nelson Dida and Zeljko Kalac were out injured.
“It’s right to speak about Ronaldo but I would like to say a few things about Storari as well,†said Galliani after the match.
“His name isn’t as famous as Ronaldo’s, but today he offered a great performance, he had no fear and certainly saved the result,†added the Rossonero.
Storari, who signed a contract at the club until June 2010 after also appearing for Perugia, Ancona and Napoli, stated that he didn’t feel the pressure of debuting for such a famous side.
“I don’t usually get too excited… I wanted to do well and I am glad with the result,†said the ‘keeper.
The former Messina man might now become a rival for Dida, who has yet to extend his contract with the Via Turati outfit, which currently expires in June.
Reports suggest that the club might in fact decide to give the Brazilian a deadline, as they believe they have found an excellent replacement for him between the posts.
