Milan Join Huntelaar Hunt?

(IMG:http://www.blieb.nl/data/subdomain/32/article/20061017183300_Huntelaar_breed___Ajax.blieb.nl.jpg)

Milan’s lethargic start to the transfer season could be coming to a thrilling finale as the acquisitions of Pato and most recently Emerson could be capped by the signing of Ajax ace Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Rossoneri legend Ruud Gullit is reported to have personally recommended the free-scoring 24-year-old to his former employers, and Milan’s strong Dutch connection could give them the edge over fellow suitors Juventus and Real Madrid.

Huntelaar put his disappointment at being left out of the Netherlands squad on Friday behind him with a highly impressive four-goal haul during Ajax’s rout of De Graafschap on the weekend. He is said to be eager to stick it out in Amsterdam for another year before making the inevitable move to one of Europe’s top leagues, but there are signs that a big-money transfer within this August is a possibility.

Gilardino kind, pure inbox-striker. And he's already 24 (I thought he was 19 or 20 (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )

So it's pretty pathetic to talk about this. What we'd need is a second-striker... not Huntelaar.

But we're not signing anyone so let's all laugh at GOAL.com stupid news... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

We don't exactly /need/ a box striker at this point. Someone at Goal.com must have used the randon name generator and come up with Huntelaar as a possible alternative. I wouldn't cry if it were true, though.

Surely there's a SS somewhere out there who's halfway decent.

Goal.com has been saying for a while that Emerson and Pato is pointing towards Madrid--they were right about that. Of course they link us to everyone.

The trade probably won't happen.

If it did we can't really lose at this point. We could use good forward options. We haven't spent much in this transfer market so why not gamble a bit. With Ronaldo already having problems it might be good to get an option and experiment. If it doesn't work we can sell him off to somewhere and buy someone else. I mean he is young and scores alot of goals in Holland.

As I understand he is a goal poacher. So basically that means he can only play with Ronaldo, or with Kaka in the 4-4-1-1. Unless of course they plan to team him up with Pato, and see what comes out.

Naah all in all I agree with 10nie, it's that brilliant random name generator program of theirs.

Oh does anyone know if he can play as sole striker? Huntelaar that is.

yes he is more of a poacher but he scores goals from everywhere. i've seen him score plenty of goals from outside the box too. all i know is we desperatly need another striker and a SS but we can certainly settle for a talent like him.

Exactly. He scores free kicks (Last time I checked "pure in-box" strikers didn't do that), he scores from outside the box, he can certainly shoot from distance (something Gilardino and Pippo truly suck at) and he is a great Dutch talent. It would be a great signing.

But just like Berbatov and Torres, some other lucky team will get him.

He's a good player IMO...reminds me a bit of Gerd Müller. He's nowhere near the original though. I could name half a dozen players that would be better for us.

Wouldn't be a bad signing at all but I'm used to these rumours that result in nothing more...

To sign him now would be perfect. We do need another forward.

This transfer would get a green light from me,...

Huntelaar is an excellent catch. But didn`t he play for Ajax in their last CL qualifier? That would mean he can`t play for us, right? Or is there some Mascherano presedan?

Oh, why do I even boder asking,..we all know that aint gonna happen,.. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

WOW!! great news..

then we can buy Ruud Van Nistelrooy.. n play all 4 of them at the same time..

play with 4-2-4 formation with Gilardino, Inzaghi, Ruud and Huntelaar in the attacks..

now we're thinking outside the box..
