Kaka: I Will Be Back To My Best Soon

Milan ace Kaka has told fans not to worry and promised them that he will be back to his best, sooner rather than later.

The Brazilian has spoken of his fitness and physical condition, following the recent trouble he endured on international duty with Brazil. Kaka had problems with his left foot, but he insists the worst is behind him as he looks onwards and upwards.

"I am working well and it will not be long until I am back in top form," Kaka told Milan Channel.

"I want to get back to my best to help Milan reach our objectives, both present and future," he continued.

Kaka has been watching events unfold in Abruzzo following the earthquake disaster. The playmaker revealed that the club are planning to give relief for those who have been affected by the disaster.

"We are preparing something which will be announced soon," he said.

"We will do something to help them and we are trying to find the right way of doing it."

For those of you who might fear he's playing like this in order to lower his price tag.

Even kaladze would do better in Mid than seedorf tongue.gif

My preferred line-up

Zambro--Bonera--Favalli--Janku
Becks--Pirlo--Flamini
Dinho
Pato--Sheva

Preferrably would like both Pippo and Kaka to get 45 minutes, switching with Sheva and Dinho respectively.

After last week Seedorf is currently black listed to me, until he plays like he can again I would not like to see him anywhere near the starting line up, but we all know he's going to start come Sunday, no questions asked

Posted by: Ry4n Apr 13 2009, 07:38 PM

i may get shot for this but guntootsmiley2.gif stop.gif ....... i want Seedorf to start this game he plays well against Torino !

Posted by: Tennie Apr 15 2009, 02:23 PM

So, double training today for the team.

Morning training has taken place - work in the sand pit, on various pitches, runs in the woods, etc. Nobody was listed as having trained in the gym, which I take as a good sign.

There will also be an afternoon training session.

Gazzetta have an interesting formation for this match

Dida; Antonini, Senderos, Maldini, Zambrotta
Seedorf, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Pato
Kakà, Inzaghi

4-4-2 they think, with Pato on the wing and Kaka as a strikers or a SS

Posted by: Tennie Apr 15 2009, 03:58 PM

Here is gazzetta's projected lineup:

Dida
Antonini Senderos Maldini Zambrotta
Seedorf Pirlo Ambrosini Pato
Kakà Inzaghi
(they have it as a 4-4-2 and in that order).

Note that Janku is suspended for this one.

Fishdoll gosh. He wasn't quick enough in stealing the braincell from whoarethepatriots! Oops! smile.gif

I see Carlo thought that the mess against Chievo was a brilliant piece of coaching and wants to repeat the masterpice against Toro rolleyes.gif

Good ole' Carlo, never lets us down... rolleyes.gif

Posted by: Tennie Apr 15 2009, 11:23 PM

The second training session was more drills and practice games. Kaka and Il Capitano trained with the team.

Arrigo Sacchi must be nostalgic these days; he was at training today too.

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Apr 16 2009, 05:42 AM

I'm glad to see him back. Carlo needs him.

Posted by: Tennie Apr 16 2009, 11:12 AM

Apparently, Antonini pulled up in training yesterday and may be out for the game. sad.gif

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Apr 16 2009, 01:27 PM

Oh great. So Favalli at LB, going up against Abate. This doesn't look good. There goes our width.

So Pato will play a Rooney, out wide on the left. With Pippo and Kaka up front.

Posted by: dst Apr 16 2009, 01:42 PM

I hope Carlo does not make this retarded choice with Pato on the left again. Why give less chances to score to someone who's got such a good relationship with the net?

Posted by: Tennie Apr 16 2009, 02:12 PM

Re: Antonini's injury -- not that it's too likely to happen but might it be better to play Zambrotta on the left and stick one of the kids on the right? We do in theory have two RBs on the squad, neither of whom have started (Darmian and Mattioni).

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Apr 16 2009, 02:20 PM

Hmm....Darmian against Rosina....I suppose it can't go too badly. But I'm pretty sure our backline will be...

Zambrotta---Senderos---Maldini---Favalli.

QUOTE (Channel 4)
Milan (probable): Abbiati; Antonini, Senderos, Maldini, Zambrotta; Seedorf, Ambrosini, Pirlo, Pato; Kaka, F.Inzaghi

One of these things is not like the other. smile.gif

Posted by: Habitant Apr 16 2009, 05:09 PM

wouldnt it make more sense to have kaka on the left?... and pato up front... huh.gif

anyways when pato drifts out wide it's on the right side, unless somehow he gets pushed on the left. a whole game there? only carlo rolleyes.gif

Posted by: Darunia Apr 16 2009, 05:59 PM

Why wouldn't Carlo go with his usual 4-3-1-2 with Kaka supporting Pato/Inzaghi? It's not like Carlo to change.

Posted by: Tennie Apr 16 2009, 06:05 PM

Am I the only one really worried about what's goign to happen to the left side of our defense?

Posted by: whoarethepatriots Apr 16 2009, 06:19 PM

Forget the left side, im worried about the whole defence. Maldini cannot hold the fort on his own, and Abate will run rings around whoever he wishes to humiliate.

I think Carlo is crazy playing Pato on the wing, but the plan is a special kind of crazy which may work. It may force Abate to think twice about bombing forward and leaving the Toro right back alone to deal with Pato.

QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Apr 16 2009, 03:57 PM) *

What dst said. it's really stupid. is Carlo trying to make Kaka feel better by playing him in a position where he has a better chance of scoring goals? neither Pato is as good as Kaka in Kaka's position, nor Kaka is as good as Pato in Pato's position. let them play in their natural positions for ****'s sake!

Posted by: dst Apr 16 2009, 10:59 PM

I'd play Ambro on the left, there's really no other choice.

Posted by: dst Apr 16 2009, 11:00 PM

I'd play Ambro on the left, there's really no other choice.

edit: Or maybe what Tennie said. Darmian or Mattioni could play on the right with Zambro on the left, they deserve a chance. What about Bonera, is he not available?

nope, he's still training separately along with the legion of other injured players.

Posted by: Tennie Apr 17 2009, 11:44 AM

I think you're probably right, alberto. It scares me a little because Abate is crazy fast and he'll run circles around Favalli.

Signor Banti will referee the game.

(For zeddie and Locke: Rosetti will referee Chievo-Siena).

Standard training today. Highlights included Kaka, Pato, and Ronaldinho working on shots on goal and assists and Borriello starting to run again (FINALLY).

Tomorrow will be the prematch practice and press conference.

D'oh

Thats what i meant, Inter winning

Posted by: A.X Apr 17 2009, 09:59 PM

i hope the starting line up wil be(4-1-2-2-1) : dida
Zambrotta maldini senderos Antoninni
pirlo
seedorf ambrossini
pato Ronaldinho
Kaka
and the second half : pippo will go in place of pato
and beckham in place of seedorf
so the formation will be then : dida
(4-1-2-1-2) Zambrotta maldini senderos Antoninni
pirlo
beckham ambrossini
Ronaldinho
Kaka inzaghi

i think the score will be 2-0 for milan. (with kaka and R80 scoring)

and i think pato when playin on the wing ... each time the ball goes to him ... he passes on 2 or 3 defenders ...
so i think if he does that and then cross the ball ... milan will get lots of scoring apportunities...that's all (Holla!) cool.gif

Antonini is hurt (bad tackle by ronaldinho in training yesterday) and will be out for 2-3 weeks. Knee sprain.

Milan are preparing for their upcoming clash against Torino this weekend, and it understood that David Beckham is set to sit on the pine for the third consecutive match.

Corriere dello Sport claims that the coach Carlo Ancelotti is keen to field a similar starting eleven to the side that just got over the line against Chievo Verona 1-0 last weekend.

If this is the case, then Beckham is a definite to will be left on the bench, whilst the hero from their most recent outing, Clarence Seedorf, will be given another opportunity to play from the start.

Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini will play alongside Seedorf in the midfield, whilst Alexandre Pato, Filippo Inzaghi and Kaka will be utilised in the attacking positions.

The Rossoneri have a few concerns at the back, however, as Marek Jankulovski will miss through suspension, whilst his usual replacement in Luca Antonini is out injured.

It is rumoured that Ancelotti will play the veteran Giuseppe Favalli on the left, with Paolo Maldini and Philippe Senderos in the middle, and Gianluca Zambrotta on the right. Dida will take his place in goal once again, after his impressive performance last weekend.

Milan host Torino at the San Siro stadium this Sunday, with the play scheduled to get underway at 20:30 CET.

Dunga, schmunga. He'll probably look for an excuse on Sunday not to play Pato in Brazil's next match.

Posted by: Zed.D Apr 18 2009, 07:42 AM

Call ups:

Dida, Kalac
Darmian, Favalli, Maldini, Mattioni, Senderos, Zambrotta
Ambrosini, Beckham, Flamini, Pirlo
Inzaghi, Kakà, Pato, Seedorf, Shevchenko, Ronaldinho

Yet again, Iross will be despondent that Emerson wasn't called up.

Posted by: Zed.D Apr 18 2009, 07:11 PM

I'd like to see Darmian and Mattioni get some minutes (not milliseconds... minutes)

Posted by: Tennie Apr 18 2009, 07:12 PM

Here's the full text of Ancelotti's press conference (translation courtesy of acmilan.com's english page):

QUOTE
'It's an important moment of the season, each moment has its own difficulties and importance, tomorrow against Torino as well. We will find a closed down team, but Milan are going through a good moment. I'm not satisfied with the way we're playing, but we are looking for solutions to play better. Will we use the same formation as against Chievo? We will certainly use a diamond formation again in midfield. Torino are a very careful team. They are going through a delicate moment and they are coming here to get points. They will play with attention and application. They have refound these qualities and we'll have to be careful. Tomorrow's doubts are for Maldini but we have Darmian available so he could play.

Abate has grown a lot, he could be in our squad, his only problem is that Milan usually don't play with wide players.

In midfield we will have many choices, Beckham has gotten over a problem to his shoulder which bothered him during training. In front we will have Inzaghi or Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho is doing well, he's working with good rhythm which he showed against Lecce. He was very motivated when he came on and he wanted to give an important contribution to the team, which he wants to do now too.
Tomorrow I'll have the chance to meet Dunga. I'm happy because he used to be an opponent and perhaps we can reestablish a direct relationship instead of through the papers.'

'I don't think I will support Inter tonight, but I will have the pleasure of seeing a great match. This week we saw some very good games in the Champions League, let's hope Italian football can offer the same spectacle.'

'The statistics do not always reflect the reality of things. Milan's defence has managed to maintain solidity and reliability, through important performances of certain players, it's not a coincidence that we conceded just one goal in the last three games. Sometimes we didn't develop the play with enough sharpness. We are trying to recover Kaká to make us play faster. Lately his performances haven't been great, let's hope tomorrow he can give an important contribution against Torino. Ricky was out injured for two months and he didn't have the chance to train well. Considering his characteristics he was certainly penalised.

Milan's cycle will end when the property changes, but the squad will be renewed as happens every year, and I don't think it's over. Kaká is a very good observer because Gerrard could be useful to our group. It's not necessary to open a new cycle, we just need the right reinforcements to keep this team competitive.

Borriello can score 20 goals and I think he could score them next year, Marco has been out for a year, but Milan are counting on him for next year. I have the right motivation for next season.

The players don't ask me whether I'll stay, the situation is clear with them, I read Maldini's interview. Every day he asks me what I'll do and I ask him what he will do next year. There isn't any news and there won't be. There is clearness between me and the players, the objective is to finish the season well and get back into the Champions League next year. It's true that I'm taking English lessons, but that's because it's useful for travelling the world not just for coaching.'

'I think Seedorf is an important player who has highs and lows. Quality players aren't always able to express themselves, but Clarence has always been important at delicate times for Milan. Seedorf plays a lot not just for technical reasons, but also because of his personality.'

'The eve of the match against Real Madrid of twenty years ago is a memory that is still alive, it was an important eve. It's nice to be here twenty years later, it's an important eve and tomorrow we hope to do well. Each game has its history, as does every season.'

'For me the derby is the most strongly felt game, even though it depends on the situation of the teams in the standings, it's always an exciting match.'

Heh. Repeating a word with a "sch" prefix is pretty much a "yeah, whatever" expression, with some negative connotation. It's basically a disparaging of the subject. It's often used in the U.S. and I believe it's Yiddish, though I'm not 100% sure because I'm not Jewish. smile.gif

For instance, if you told me that Beckham would be starting tomorrow, I might say, "Becks, schmecks. He belongs on the bench." The simpler the better, because you'll sound like a dope if you use a name or word that's too complicated. smile.gif

Translation: Seedorf is an important player who had highs and is now laying low. Quality players aren't always able to express themselves but Clarence has given a new meaning to this by not even making an effort. Seedorf plays a lot not just because technically I never change the system but also because he's my buddy.

Why does Ambro get the start??

I knew Flamini would be removed from the starting 11 the moment Ambro regained full fitness, it just goes to show how things are run at Milan puke.gif

Flamini was finally really living up to the hype he got at the beginnning of the season and was playing really well, but the moment Ambro is fit he gets the start, even if he has been playing horrible for the past few months...

Also would prefer Ronnie to get in ahead of Kaka, he been playing terribly and I think it would be better if he was eased back in rather then being shoved in like we're doing atm

Abate is not all that good in my opinion. Favalli will probably struggle but if Zambro was played on the left he would have no problem. Antonini would also deal with him if he was available.

Posted by: han2503 Apr 19 2009, 01:25 PM

Maybe Maldini could play out on the left but won't be given and attacking duties. That way Zambro can attack and even go to the midfield to make it 4 accross and Maldini, Favalli and Senderos forming a defensive 3.

Dont be so sure. Last time we played Juve, De Ceglie absolutely murdered Zambrotta, and Abate is significantly faster than De Ceglie and a better dribbler too

Posted by: Fillipo Simone Apr 19 2009, 01:59 PM

We should now take Abate under a close test. Many players who played well against us were take by our board in the past (and I'd call it one of the decisive factors).

Ambro starts for the same reason Seedorf plays every week - he is another of carlo's favourites wink.gif The sooner we rid ourselves of all this old boys club the sooner we can move onwards and upwards.

Posted by: Tennie Apr 19 2009, 06:24 PM

Totally agrew with you about the Seedorf part, Iross. However, I actually think Ambrosini is starting (assuming he does) over Flamini because Ambro is better.smile.gif

MILAN-TORINO: LE FORMAZIONI UFFICIALI
19/04/2009
MILAN : Dida; Flamini, Senderos, Maldini, Zambrotta; Beckham, Pirlo, Ambrosini; Kakà; Pato, Inzaghi.
TORINO: Sereni; Rivalta, Natali, Franceschini, Rubin; Abate, Dzemaili, Barone, Diana; Rosina; Bianchi.

flamini on the flank??

Posted by: Tennie Apr 19 2009, 06:45 PM

Well. So Flamini and Ambro both.

Sad to see Ancelotti would rather play a midfielder out of position as RB rather than either of the kids on the squad who regularly play that position.

Posted by: MizNelson Apr 19 2009, 06:47 PM

I don't think Seedorf is one of Carlo's favorites as much as Carlo starting him regularly just to shut him up.

Posted by: Darunia Apr 19 2009, 07:01 PM

Surprised to see Seedorf on the bench =)

So Flamini is playing RB? Thought you'd see him on the left side since he played the CL run with Arsenal there, but maybe they want to use Zambrotta to try to contain Abate.

Ancelotti is desperately weak... I imagine that even his own shadow scares him... fielding a youngster (not one we've paid 15m for and thus has to play) surely makes him cry.

But at least his choice was right in theory. Favalli can't cope with Abate's pace while if Zambro has a good day he will have no problem.

What a great first half! Torino are not a quality by any means but we've made them look much worse than they really are. I can't remember a single mistake by any of our players.

Pato had some fun in the end. He dribbled past a couple of Torino players and then threw the ball away because the difficulty of the game he's playing is too easy for him! biggrin.gif

I think this works at home against some of the smaller teams, Flamini has been more of a midfielder than a RB so far, it's like we're playing with 3 defenders (and they haven't had to do anything)

We've been gifted all the time, space and possession, they've literally given the ball back to us everytime we've lost possession LOL...

Hope Pato scores so he can get his 20 goals this season

Flamini should be our permanent right back

This is the perfect game for Becks cos he has plenty to aim his crosses @

OH yeh if we keep a 2 goal lead we'll be 2nd on the table leading by goal difference smile.gif

Yes, on goal difference.

Posted by: gal_kenny Apr 19 2009, 09:25 PM

Yea 2nd place...We have more goals over Juve!!

"There was a comical moment when Massimo Ambrosini accidentally ran into the back of the referee and knocked him over!"

dang I missed that

Posted by: gal_kenny Apr 19 2009, 09:27 PM

The whole set up for Ambro's goal reminds me of Ronnie's 2nd goal against Sampdoria!!!

Totally agrew with you about the Seedorf part, Iross. However, I actually think Ambrosini is starting (assuming he does) over Flamini because Ambro is better.smile.gif

I thought Flamini played really well tonight, I also think he is technically better than Ambro but needs time to adjust.

I should not forget to thank Seedorf for his absence was fundamental.

Fishdoll +1 cookie to Ambro for taking out the ref. smile.gif

All in all, a good team performance all the way around except for the poor marking on the one set piece that led to the goal.

It was good to see Darmian get a run out.

More of the same please. smile.gif

Forget Pippo's goals; the best part of tonight's stat sheet is easily:

Seedorf: DNP-CD

smile.gif

Posted by: han2503 Apr 19 2009, 09:33 PM

Games that concern us in the next round:

Milan - Palermo
Napoli - Inter
Reggina - Juventus

Should we play as we did today, we will win against Palermo, and maybe make up a little ground on Inter should they lose points against Napoli...

I'm going through highlights and replays one thing i've noticed about Beckham is that he's getting angrier lol...he's pretty much pissed at every decision that goes the other way and looks like he's ready to fight someone.

he needs to learn to have a laugh like R80 biggrin.gif .....maybe not as much

Perhaps that's his determination?

Great game, and almost reached 9 goals. Just needed 4 more goals!!!! biggrin.gif Optimism for the win.

Dida 6: Didn't really have to do anything. Wasn't at fault for the goal.

Flamini 8: Great game by him, he never stopped running. What a great signing. Played Rb/Rm/Rw.

Senderos 6: Decent game

Maldini 6: Decent game

Zambrotta 7: Could have done more but it seems Rb is his more preferred position.

Becks 6: First half, godlike, second half not so much. Average game by the english man's high standards.

Pirlo 7: Great game by pirlo, truly enjoyed his passing today. Phenominal CM.

Ambrosini 7: Good game by the vice

Kaka 6: Good penalty, but typically a terrible game by his standards.

Inzaghi 10: Like a goddamn thief in the night. slices and dices the defence like a hot knife through butter.

Pato 5: Bad game by his standard. Rightly subbed at half.

Dinho 7: Sick assist, dinho gettin back to his best.

Darmian: n/a. Didn't do much other than passing but glad he got playing time.

sheva n/a: wasn't really involved.

Carlo 10: This is the genius we know and love, brilliant move regarding flamini shifting to Rb and like any good coach, brought the youth on for experience. This game i give him full props.

Galliani 6: Did not do any crazy things on the stands with dunga, I was dissapointed by the fester and his non comical behavior.

I agree with these ratings.

Datasport seem to agree that it was an all round good game too. Here are their ratings (yell if you want translations):

QUOTE
Shevchenko s.v. Entra a giochi ormai conclusi ricevendo pochi palloni.
Ronaldinho 6.5 Giocoliere.

all i gotta say is another impressive result with no "big bum" in the lineup smile.gif

and props to pippo, we still need that top class striker in the summer but pippo brings some nice depth so one more season with him will be nice.

I was commenting on a general observation.
I don't believe he was less determined when he was subbed in for England or any of our other league games when he wasn't as easily agitated.

Just saying he can be quite hot headed and should chill out imo.

His head needs to always match his feet 'tis all

Posted by: MizNelson Apr 20 2009, 03:09 AM

This is why we've frustratingly hung onto the Didas and Pippos for so darn long. Just when you think they're finished, they somehow turn back the clock and pull something magical out of their hat.

Yes but we also pay for their inconsistency.

Not optimistic, but just want us to end the season with as close a gap in points from Inter as possible.

I don't like the fact that we've been languishing behing them by double figure points for these past 2 years. At least we can say that we actually tried and cam close, if nothing else should the gap be just 2 or 4 points by the end of the season. Plus I think that would give us better incentive for next season. And show Inter that they are not playing in the Serie A alone anymore as they have been doing these past 3 seasons

Posted by: Tennie Apr 20 2009, 04:20 PM

Fishdoll notes that we've cut the gap by 4 points over the last two matchdays.

Well at least it would be second, and to me second is far better then 3rd.

And should the gap only be by a small margin it would be more a great result at the end of the season, concidering we thought we might be dropping in 4th if we kept up with the bad displays.

The point gap between us and Inter in the last 2 seasons has been something unimaginable from Milan's point of view and it should not be something that is to be repeated.
