Yeah, but the champions league 2003/2004 final is his best I think.

Yes, well the CL 2003 final was about as epic as it gets. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif) It was almost the man wrote the script himself. 3 saves in the shootout in the biggest match of the season, the expectations, the prize money difference, the titles, ending up on the losing side or winning it all, everything just comes down to that moment. He could have saved none, really!

But the thing was that the man was a penalty killer, he ate them for breakfast. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Without burping, mind you. I mean, therea are at least 20 penalty saves in this video alone. Definitely one of the best dead ball saver of this generation. Helped in no small amounts by his height, and lightening fast reflexes. So much was he sure of reading penalties that he moved at the very last possible minute. I've seen keepers with names starting from B to V embarassing themselves by preempting their dives - the wrong way.

What really takes the cake for me is this save at 3:37 in this video. The freekick save against inter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I'd happily lay my life in front of an axe-murderer if I ever see a better one. That inter basturd hit the kick right for the top corner, it was as sure a goal as it gets. I mean, you can't do better than this as a player. And yet it was saved. Effortlessy. Dida's super reflxes and leap coming to the rescue. Magical!

And then there are other random impossible saves - from Juventus to United and whatstheirname.

I'd completely forgotten it was his b-day until late yesterday. Bad me.

The 03 CL will always be legend, but you can't talk about great saves without also including this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61fgYEzHkQU

QUOTE
"I was training in Italy and trying to find a team in Europe, only I could not find any that interested me," the 38-year-old Dida told Globoesporte. "I wanted to go to England, but could not because I'm non-EU.

And this is why the EU is retarded. Clearly a professional goalkeeper is going to be leeching off the state, right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Get the hell out already.

After a long absence, Ol' Googly Eyes is back! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(IMG:http://www.sambafoot.com/datas/pictures/informations/2012-12/big/info_1355932288.jpg)

He (and his apparent Jedi mind tricks) just inked a one-year deal with Gremio, following a not-too-shabby performance w/Portuguesa this season.

Agreed, the best news about visiting the Dida thread today was seeing a certified MizNelson post. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Oh the good times of old. And well, happy for the Panther too. Fantastic beginning to the new year, as far as I am concerned.
