I was uncertain between Dida (I loved him in 2003-2007), Serginho and Shevchenko. Then, I remember how I cried when he revealed that he was going to London, and I voted for him. He actually was a part of my heart, I grew up with him in some way as a Milan supporter, and he was definitely my favorite player of the poll's era.

Haha, you seem to be my kind of a guy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Dida's in my top 5 favorite players of all time (along with Paolo, Ronaldo, Rui Costa and Baggio), and Sheva would be the one striker I would choose if I had to go in without R9. And Serginho along with Cafu were magical.

Aw, come I was working late at night on a book layout, and thought I'd typed gal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Honest mistake, made when I was finishing up the design on an urgent project. You probably would have your head in the rum barrel captain, if you were in my place and working for 19 hours straight.

I don't get all the love for Dida. He only had like 2-3 great seasons. It was downhill from then onwards.

Probably because when he was great, he was great. He was upto the standards of Buffon for those years. Unfortunately he lost it a bit, but so do many keepers. There hasn't been one since in my eyes anywhere near Dida (at his peak).

Exactly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) He played his part in the 03, 05, and even the 07 final runs, and went head to head with Buffon in the penalty shoot, and lived to tell the tale. The thing with keepers like Dida is that they may pull off an impossible save (that practically 99% of the keepers will not), but then a single mistake may see them banished.

Part of the reason for that is because of their quite personality, they are not overly flashy or shout at the top of the their lungs all through the match. Their intro-personality means players like these are just not at the center stage. One doesn't play at a top European club like Milan as a foreign player for 10 years for nothing. Few players have done it, fewer goalkeepers still.

I know I'm becoming boring with the same question over and over again, but I still don't understand what he's doing? I can't accept that he's "too proud" to pick a team which would give him some playing time. I mean, there are tons of English ((IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ), French or Spanish teams that would sign him; if not he could go back to Brazil.

Anyway, he was way better then 'just 2-3 seasons'; actually he was the best keeper Milan had in the past 2 decades. Like Acid said, he was able to do the things other keepers never even dreamed of. He's the exact opposite of Seba Rossi - Rossi was consistently good, but never 'that good' and always on the verge of letting you think we should get a better one (just like Abbiati, his true successor in terms of characteristics, but not character).

I remember Dida being a beast from 2002 till Istanbul. From then onwards, decent goalkeeping and plenty of howlers.

Good to see Sheva running away with it. No surprise Kaka is in 2nd seeing as he was such an important figure in our last CL win. Though I'm surprised Pippo/Nesta aren't closer.

I'm baffled to see so many people associate Kaka' only to our last Champions League. He's been an outstanding player from his first day with us till probably one year before he left us.
