Merda won it last year. We beat Juve with a Gilardino goal, and lost to Inter because of a Recoba stunner.

I think that legend was about Trofeo TIM, because last year I though that it's great that Inter won it, cuz that way we gonna win Serie A, but it wasn't how I expected it...

Both have been mentioned in the 'Scudetto curse' But it has been more towards the Trofeo Berlusconi game especially these last few years when Milan and Juve were the only ones that were really competing for the title

that doesn't actually have something to do with the tim trophy, but with luigi berlusconi trophy.
has anyone been there? how can I find tickets for this game and how expensive are they??

It's a pity Pato and Ronaldinho won't be there to kick Inter players' ***.

Today there was no team training. However, some players came to Milanello anyway:
Kakà, Jankulovski and Borriello did athletic work on the pitch, Did aand Emerson did personalized work in the gym and Nesta did some physical therapy (fyi, he supposedly hurt his back picking up his toddler, Sofia).

Today there was only one training session. The Azzurri (other than Borriello who is already back) all returned to Milanello this morning. Ambro, Pirlo, and Zambrotta all undertook testing while Gattuso worked with Janku on the central pitch and then did an aerobic test.
Afternoon training started at 17.30 on the central pitch with standard warmups. After his little chat, Ancelotti had the team work on a technical-athletic course with the ball (based on the photos on acmilan.com, I think this is running the ball around flags and cones). After this, the team worked on a drill in the middle of the pitch.
Simic worked on performance tests.
Emerson, Inzaghi and Nesta worked in the gym.
Il Capitano worked with the group.
Tomorrow the team will have two practices. The morning practice (at 10am) will be open to the public. The afternoon practice (at 17.30) will be closed.

This morning's training has taken place.
After Carletto's talk, the team warmed up with running around the perimeter of the pitch and some stretching.
Following this there was a tactical 2-touch exercise on the reduced pitch while the keepers worked with their trainer Villiam Vecchi. After that there was a 4 person v. 4 person attack-v-defense drill.
Training ended with a mini game with Abbiati and Kalac in goal.
Dida trained separately.
Kaladze, Nesta, Inzaghi and Emerson did specific work in the gym.
There'll be a second training session this afternoon.

Afternoon training has taken place.
After warmup, the players were divided in four groups that took turns running a course with high obstacles.
Following this, the team was divided into groups: some players went into the gym to work on specific work while Janku, Ambro, and Oddo played beach volleyball against Kaka, Flamini and Digao.
Following this, Antonini, Bonera, Oddo, Flamini, and Aubameyeang ran sprints (?) of 1200 meters.
Nesta, Borriello, Kaladze, Emerson, and Pippo trained in the gym.
Tomorrow there will also be two training sessions. The morning session is closed but the afternoon session is open to fans.

First match as Inter coach? No. They won vs. Al-Hilal 2 days ago or so (1-0). But they played poorly.
But Mourinho is trying to change a lot at Inter. Playing a completely new tactic for them, new routines, new training-style, etc.
I really doubt we'll see a strong Inter at this stage.

Yeah, I guess. For all I know he won't be here after the end of this decade. If he still has it in him, I just wish he passes the torch to a younger, agile keeper that's all.
Just the way he got the No. 1 jersey a few years back. I have a feeling we'll be going after a new keeper in any of the next couple of transfer window. None of our gloves are young, so planning ahead is vital.

Unofficial, yes, because it's a friendly. But we've got inter as our 5th match, which is earlier than usual, so that will be our second encounter with Mou and his, um, team.

Ohdear. A week into training and there's already an injury report for the team. (my translation of the note on acmilan.com's italian page. apologies for errors as the medical terminology is hard for me).
Marco Borriello suffered a sprain in his right knee during this morning's training. Tomorrow he'll undergo medical testing (probably an MRI). Fillipo Inzaghi strained his left thigh in training before the Cremonese game. At the beginning of next week, he'll have an an MRI as a precaution. Alessandro Nesta, after visits to the doctor, has started a rehab cycle to cure him of his back injury - his situation is improving. Emerson, after having been given precautionary exams and visiting a specialist, has started a rehab cycle.
On the upside of things, this probably means that Paloschi will be remaining with the team.

I'd take that upside in a gippy.
We need as many strikers as we can afford, considering more than half of our attack force is injury prone through the year. Plus, the day Paloschi leaves would probably be a very sad day for me. The boy's got talent as well as intelligence and a good personality. I'd try and keep him a Milan-born-and-bred, if at all possible.

Oh no ... The injury list is pilling up. But at least Milan have until the 31st of August till the season starts, so I am not really worried, rather blue because of Pippo and Nesta

I don't think we'll have much of a squad for this, the Italian Internationals have only just begun training and our attack is either injured or away (Pato at Olympics, Palo just returning from the U19s) And I don't think Kaka will play since he's still easing into things after surgery.
Juve will have the strongest team from all 3 involved since they have been preparing longer because of CL qualifiers

Hopefully we'll lose all our pre-season games, it's proved to be a good omen in the past.
But Hopefully if Carlo decides to play some primavera players he will stick with the ones he used in the last friendly.
He should give those players some continuety. There is no point in playing 5 different primavera's in every friendly we play. It's better to stick with the same 5 most promising players rather then continuosly changing.
Does anyone know is Darmain and Paloschi will be ready to play in this one? I liked Osuji also from last Wednesday's friendly.

This weekend:
Dortmund 1-3 Juventus, Amauri + 2x Iaquinta
Inter 2-0 Bari, Cruz + Adriano
Posted by: Tennie Jul 27 2008, 07:23 PM
Today's afternoon training session has taken place, observed by approximately 5000 fans.
After warmup, the team worked on offensive drills: one group worked on a series of triangulations, one group worked on crosses (Oddo and Zambro from the right; Favster and Janku on the left).
There was an 'attack v defense drill as well.
Oddo and Seedorf worked on free kicks.
Gattuso, Flamini, and Favalli worked on technique with Mauro Tassotti.
There will be two training sessions tomorrow.

They only do penalties if there's a draw in the Tropheo Tim. Last season there was no draws and no penalties occured but in the tournament that took place before the 06/07 season the zebras and Inter drew in one of the games and penalties occured, which Inter lost out on IIRC

From the 3 team and with what I saw in this pre-season... I'd say Juventus is the one in better shape. Funny or not, Juve never won the TIM Trophy.

And...they played beach volleyball during this morning's training too!
This morning's training has taken place.
There was stretching as warmup for everyone.
Following this was a game of beach volley, with Gattuso, Kaladze, Abameyang and Simic playing against Flamini, Zambrotta, Emerson and Maldini.
Emerson then did some running in the sand pit. Kaladze, Antonini, Maldini, Favalli, Kaka, Janku, and Brocchi also did running drills in the sand pit (must be an awfully large sand pit!)
Gattuso, Seedorf, Oddo, Bonera, Flamini and Digao worked on strengthening and resistance drills over 80 meters.
Ambrosini and Pirlo worked in the central field.
As usual, the keepers trained separately.
There'll be a second session later today.

Carletto gave his prematch press conference. Here's what he had to say (my translation of the original on acmilan.com's italian page. apologies in advance for any errors)
Injuries and Strikers
Misfortunes can happen during preparation. I'm displeased only that some players are having to interrupt their preparation. The attack is the section that requires more work to be match-ready.
Paloschi will stay with us, we've never considered selling him. Right now it's necessary that he stays with us. He could also remain until the end of the year. His remaning with us is not related to Borriello's injury (fishdoll note - that last is really what he said. buh )
Trofeo Tim
Nesta's out, but he's recovering. The others are doing well. As for Kaka, Ricky's ready and could play both games. As for the NT players, they're really only ready to play one. For the attack, we'll have Paloschi, Seedorf, and Ricky at our disposal. Nesta, Maldini, Inzaghi and Borriello are staying home.
The games tomorrow are friendlies but when one faces teams like Juve or Inter the games are never really just friendlies. They're important games. We hope to do well and, if possible, to win. We will face two adversaries who are also contending for the league championship.
Keepers
Dida's doing well, he's recuperated and is following a program of preparation to avoid possible re-injuries. He could be recuperated in time to play the friendly in Manchester.
As regards the hierarchy of keepers, I'll evaluate that at the beginning of the season.
Dinho and the Olympics
In reality, considering that he played little last year, playing in the Olympics could be good for improving his form. When he arrived at Milanello, he wasn't at 100%. Playing in the Olympics could improve his condition. Also, he and Pato haven't yet played together. The Olympics will give them the chance to do this.
Preparation and the Calendar
I haven't given a lot of thought to the Serie A calendar. For some it's good but for others it's a little complicated. Certainly I wouldn't change the fact that the derby's on the 5th matchday.
The preparation we're doing isn't terribly different from that of previous years; the objective is to be ready for the start of the season.
Milan and Shevchenko
What will I say to Sheva in Moscow? I'll wish him sincere good luck for the upcoming season. The rumors about Samp's interest? I don't think he'll return to another Italian club.
Buffon said that Milan is the favourite for the title? If we give our best we can do it. It's necessary to be brave and to bring out the best of every player.

Afternoon training has taken place.
After warmup and a course of hurdles, Carletto gave a talk. And then work with the ball. First there were technical-tactical exercises in view of tomorrow's game.
Then there were a series of minigames both with and without keepers. Finally there was an 11 v 11 game with the two following lineups and Abbiati and Kalac in goal:
TEAM GREEN: Seedorf, Kakà, Aubameyang, Brocchi, Kaladze, Jankulovski, Bonera, Zambrotta, Pirlo e Ambrosini.
TEAM WHITE: Digao, Gattuso, Oddo, Simic, Strasser, Osuji, Maldini, Favalli, Antonini and another player from the Primavera.
Dida also took part in the minigames.
As regards individual players, Flamini did some personalized work, and Emerson, Pippo, Nesta and Borriello worked in the gym.

And, finally, here are the Milan callups for the games:

Will 84 be his official number? He probably chose if because of his year of birth (1984) but he should have gone with 24 instead just like Ronaldinho should have gone with 28. But... who cares anyway?

I don't think they're official, he had 25 in his last friendly and Antonini also had a different number

Hrm.
Don't expect lots of loud chanting and/or banners from the Milan contingent in the crowd at this one. The Curva Sud is boycotting this and other summer friendlies which they state (in a nicely typed up manifesto) are moneymaking ventures and not real competitions. Apparently they also boycotted last summer.
Posted by: acid911 Jul 28 2008, 11:38 PM
The question, friends and neighbors, is that the crazy amount of money that goes into players' pockets, it certainly has to come from somewhere. The Curva Sud should know better. In the commercial world of sports, you never can have enough money.
They shouldn't have boycotted. Plain and simple.
Posted by: Jack Sparrow Jul 29 2008, 05:53 AM
I agree, they shouldn't have boycotted. But the red side of Milan has always been a little leftist. So obviously, they love Silvio, but hate his money.
Perhaps Flamini and R80 reckon, that these numbers would make it easier for the club to retire them?

How much is it to get a ticket for these games?
Posted by: Tennie Jul 29 2008, 04:42 PM
Buh. Ten Euros for the 'Milan fan section'. The expensive seats away from the various fan sections are 50 euros. That's...not very much.
Silly of them to object to 10 euros - even though it would cost them something to get to Torino and back (RT on the train is around 40 euros).

They should stop whining. It's 10 Euros for 1.5 match of the three most successful teams in Italy!
By the way, is it the first time it's been held in Torino cause I remember it always took place at San Siro, or am I wrong?

No, the first match is Milan-Zebras. Then Inter play the losers and winners of the first match in order. (this per acmilan.com and eurosport's italian page)
EDIT: And I'm sure Flamini will play the second game. Don't worry, he'll be there.

Of course this trophy means jack ... even though playing against Juve is enough motivation (merda, meh, not worth my time to even comment about ) ... then again the result doesn't really matter that much, considering Milan has not even '1' first team striker available at the moment.
What is refreshing is that in week 5 of Serie A, the team will be well oiled by then, with a Ka-Pa-Ro front line ... and considering the world class defending that the merda have, it will be a laugh

tennie. here is a link http://www.justin.tv/westbrom
Zambro has not found his timing with our team yet. He is still working hard and getting involved where he can..but the timing of his supporting runs is not quite there yet..ALL of our attacks have been down the left hand side lead by clarence, who IS playing brilliantly. Jankulovski is linking up VERY well with clarence, tracking back very well..and has put two STINGER shots on to buffon from outside the 18..janku is looking great. Kaladze and Bonera looked very shaky at the start, and we were getting beaten for most of the half i feel..but towards the end we started clicking. thanks to clarence..

Ahaha! Seedorf has **** his pants with the arrival of Ronaldinho! He was our best player even without the two goals!
Pirlo looked in good shape. Kaka needs space, with Ronaldinho and Pato back each drawing a couple of players near them he's going to have plenty and then... we're going to have a party!
Grande Kaladze! In a fair world, that guy would pay to wear the Milan shirt. Bonera was much better but he's no Nesta to cover the kaladzities...
The crosses from which Juve's coals came should not be allowed to be taken. They are the most difficult ball a defender has to block cause it goes behind his back!
Zambro was bad but I think that has to do with this being his first match against Juventus.
Brocchinho as always pure class!
class ???he is the king
Posted by: vahid Jul 29 2008, 08:39 PM
IMO Abbiatti should be in next game,Kalac is in a poor form and it's could increase his moral. They had 2 shoots in target and both of them was a goal!

er, no. He's in Beijing with the olympic team. (If you mean Giuseppe Rossi).
Posted by: han2503 Jul 29 2008, 08:46 PM
Kalac was pretty bad first goal how he let it slip though his legs was laughable, and then I saw him punch a rather easy ball in the middle of the box rather then anywhere else.
Kaladze was probably our worst player, just terrible both goals he was partly to blame the first one especially, why was he running about a yard behind Trezeguet??? Not to mention the countless misplaced passes inside the box and terrible "interception" that caused more problems. Bonera was great but he's no Nesta and he can't cover Kaladze's @ss while still trying to do his job properly. If Carlo is a samrt man then the second Nesta get's back his fitness Kaladze should be the one to get the boot not Bonera and until then, whenever Paolo is ready to play he should start instead of this useless idiot.
Zambrotta, I though started badly but then got into it, and despite not playeing well and letting Nedved get the better of him a couple of times was pretty solid in defenc, the crosses only came in from our left. Him and Pirlo started a bit slow but then got into it as the game went on, which I think is understandable considering they've been training for less then a week
Seedorf was great, but he's always great in pre season then it just spirals downwards from there, plus we were playing the Zebras, Clarence always scores against them, even the most ridiculous of goals

hey, i know this isnt quite the thread, but there are a lot of users in this place all at once..i was wondering what people thought about saachi's comments that quaresma is an average player in light of his impending arrival at inter.
I like the fact that Saachi is bashing a future inter player...BUT, i kinda disagree. I think quaresma has electric talent, and if he can adapt it to serie a (which figo/mourinho will be key in helping him do) i think he could be a great player..what's the forums opinion on quaresma?
i remember watching a few porto CL matches..as well as that brazil-portugal friendly a while ago..and he has shown me some serious ability..that's what my opinion is based off of.

This Rossi kid... I like him. He's confident, he's going to be good!
I can't believe that foul by Knezevic on Adriano was not given!
What a save by Buffon on that point-blank range header!!
What was Maicon doing there? And Mancini complaining after being slightly hit in a fair challenge... overrated c__t. I despise his kind.
Now beat the merda again ragazzi!!!

I think Quaresma is very good indeed. In terms of raw talent, he's probably better than that other Portuguese winger. Quaresma's problem has always been his temper -- he's something of a problem child and that doesn't seem to have changed much.
