According to ilsussidiario.net, Italian entrepreneur Michele Ferrero, the owner of chocolate making group Ferrero, is interested in taking over Milan.
Rumours that Silvio Berlusconi is set to sell his majority stake in the club rose earlier this week when newspaper Corriere della Sera claimed that Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was ready to invest €500 million to seize control of the Italian giants.
However, ilsussidiario.net suggests that this story was just a hoax that was cleverly spread around to sound the Rossoneri population out. Indeed, the website reports that Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi is keen to end his Milan reign after 23-years in charge.
The decision to keep hold of Brazilian superstar Kaka last month, just as he seemed on the verge of joining Premier League big spenders Manchester City, was primarily made in order to keep the club’s value high.
Ferrero is Italy’s wealthiest person and the 68th richest in the world, according to Forbes figures. He allegedly plans to take over the San Siro outfit within two years.
