2 long years and we finally get a couple top players. Ibra, robinho, pirlo, pato, boateng, and dinho, what a great combination of players. The only way we could have done better is to have spent Man City prices for Fabregas or Messi or somebody like that and that's just stupid and not going to happen. The fact that Milan were smart about it makes it that much better.

Borriello is a good player but maybe not good enough for Milan. Roma will be the test for him.

After watching Benitez inter flop against bologna this might be our season to turn things around.

Its a good acquisition at a great bargain really.

Ibra and Robinho both have their problem of not being there every single game but Ibra brings a quality that we have lacked since Schevchenkos departure. And Ibra has proven that he can contribute in Serie A. I can't wait to watch them in action. Ibra, Dinho, and Pato are not the #1 best in the world as Milan are saying but up there and definitely entertaining to watch.

Why should we not make a move for him?

I agree with you here. We have Madrid and man city that have a surplus and talent we could use. The problem is we have mean Mr. Scrooge Galliani counting his coins with the hair plugs have fried my brain Berlusconi who has lost his mind. Worst managed team in Europe.

Most people view some of these guys at Milan as if they were the same players 5 years ago. Zambrotta hasn't been world class since his Juventus days. Pirlo, seedorf, ambronsini, and gattuso are just plain mediocre now maybe worse than that. With Pirlo the last two seasons he has been horrible. You could clear them all out and I wouldn't think twice. I rather see our youth players fight it out than these guys.

Ben Arfa= Lyon reject who has the talent with no discipline. Not really a team player and a huge risk. If he could turn he might be brilliant.

Boateng= honestly a Tottenham reject was terrible with a big team at a high level. World cup performance was great.

So it's not like we're picking up Messi here but really two rejects with potential to get better. Milan is a pressure cooker and alot of these kinds of players don't do well. In any case I jump at the opportunity to see something new. Buy neymar!!

The funny thing is he will be over weight and still score a boat load of goals.

When I was out in Europe my first home game at Milan I saw Ronaldo make his starting debut in a Milan jersey. Ronaldo was the greatest forward and perhaps player in history.

just like the photos of overweight Ronaldinho who obviously was breathing out. These photographers sit there and take 3000 pictures and take the one that looks the best or worst. Its got to be pretty tough, your a multi millionaire and you can't eat anything.

"Unless there is an unexpected glitch at this late stage, the move should go through imminently and is designed to help energise the Milan support, who have only purchased 16,000 season tickets in comparison to the 27,000 that had been sold at this stage last year." goal.com article

Its interesting to see the real impact of our managements choices. Here 11k season tickets lost thats millions of euro in losses plus you think of the other purchases food and memorabilia. The franchise of AC Milan as a entity has really lost its prestige in the worlds eyes. What crisis are milan really in, get a loan or something or investment from somewhere else. This is the real crisis letting your brand sink into the dirt. I hate Galliani and Berlusconi.

Boateng is a needed addition. I mean we are depleted in every area on the pitch of first rate choices. Today I was watching the Man City game and the list of players they got and how much they spent, like 200 million euro. I was also thinking of how right people on this forum were in the past about Kompany and De Jong becoming great players. I think the people on this forum could make better decisions than Galliani and much of the management of this team. I was one of the Torres people, get Torres, I also said Milito when he played on Real Zaragoza and Sneider when he was an outcast at Madrid. I think Mourinho was reading my posts.

I have also read they are trying to get Ibrahamovic on loan from Barcelona. I'm not his biggest fan but this is the kind of player we have been needing since Schevchenko left this club. If he could get back to his best we would be a really strong team with a big player like this.

Overall I haven't seen on the website that Boateng has taken a medical or anything so nothing is set in stone.

I was watching the USA and Brazil game today. Neymar is off the charts for such a young player. I'm dreaming of Milan getting him and Robinho. Seeing Robinho, Pato, Ronaldinho, and Neymar together.

I am also dreaming of the fans storming Galliani's mansion forcing him to dress like Uncle Fester before they stone him. Lifting the San Siro of the curse of mismanagement.

I hope this season the fans raid the stadium and get Galliani and Berlusconi and stone them. I have a love for this team but such a passionate hatred for such an incompetent and arrogant leadership at this club. Who cares what they did in the past.

We have officially succumbed to getting mediocre players. Before it was just go out and get old but great players with the occasional great new signing like Pato. Next the shock will hit losing Pirlo, Gattuso, Nesta, and the old guard and we will be left will Pato and Silva who will wake up and decide to play for a team that wins something and our team will consist of pure mediocrity maybe less than that. We will become a Lazio unless Berlusconi sells this club.

Yeah only in italy could a president stay in there like Galliani. he is responsible for taking this team from the top 3 to the top 15. most would be fired.

No players will come. Madrid will choose to sell and galliani will personally fly to madrid to find that VDV is to expensive. we have ambrosini and seedorf he will say.

Go back where u belong Galliani doing stage performances of the Adams Family as Uncle Fester.

Hopefully when Silva is back in action this will take care of things.

We definitely need a new attacking/creative midfielder like VDV. Its amazing the signings Madrid have made this summer. They dont really need anyone yet they spent 60 million euro buying up Di Maria and others. Its a perfect time to raid Madrid for some of their excess players. We have a good relationship with the club because of the Kaka deal. Gago, and VDV would totally change our team and make us much better. We have very little creative options with this team.

Its frustrating to talk about any new players because I don't see it happening

Pato to the rescue. Pato is our saving grace.
Arsenal were giving us the run around a bit looked pretty as they always do with their countering play. Our midfield looked a bit slow and at times played long ball. Arsenal looked pretty good and we're lucky they didn't have Fabregas and some of their internationals to deal with even though Nasri, Walcott, and Arshavin were knocking around the ball great.

We got lucky with the Randall miss was a sitter than Van Persie would have buried. They got lucky with that Zambrotta cross bar strike, its like where did that shot come from??

Overall nice to see the big clubs back in action, gettin me pumped for the weekends again to watch the games.

QUOTE (han2503 @ Jul 28 2010, 04:20 PM) *
Well Silvio has a lot of demands doesn't he? But nothing to back that up

He wants Dinho closer to goal
Doesn't want Pato playing wide
Wants to play with 2 strikers
Wants to see attacking flowing football

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

The man is definately senile. he's ridiculous. Hopefully Allegri flips him off and plays what he thinks is best, if Silvio has any complaints he can coach the team himself and we'll see how long it takes before we're fighting relegation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

We can't play with 2 striker and Dinho closer to goal. So we either play the 4-3-1-2 with Dinho in the hole, or a 4-2-1-3. Or keep playing the 4-3-3 and see how that goes. Either way, Allegri needs to find a system that works and quick, we can't have another bad start to the season if we want to have a look in at the Scudetto

With Dinho closer to goal you have this problem of not having any creativity in midfield to get transition the ball. You have the Ancelotti midfield pretty much is what they are counting on for getting the ball to the strikers up top or you play the full backs down the flank and our fullbacks aren't Maicon, Alves, or Ashley Cole. If you follow what Berlusconi is saying you would have 3 forwards up top who not even receive the ball because there is not central creative force to pass it to them. If you look at Inter you have Sniejder in the middle or Maicon down the flank. With us we have no options. Ronaldinho and Pirlo are the only proven playmakers and the best teams will do everything they can to shut them down. I agree Berlusconi is in a completely different Universe to reason and common sense.

You did take a look at that defence we lined up? You actually believe that's our first team? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Really..with 4 days of training after like 3 months of vacation, you can hardly expect the team to be sharp..even the level 2/3 players.

I agree its not most of the team but its a second division team we got beat 2-0 nothing to, there are no excuses. Chelsea, Barcelona, or other top teams unless flying out on a 20 hour plane trip to play in a friendly, would completely destroy a junk team like Varese.

It shows that we cannot rely on our bench and that our second choice players will not hold against the best teams in the world. If Ronaldinho, Pirlo, or Pato get injured or out for some reason our entire team is finished for the season. We are talking about AC Milan here. The skill level between Varese and AC Milan should be 10 fold with Milan having the cream of the crop. The skill level itself should be enough to beat any second division team. But as we have learned from the last 2 years, the "oh we're Milan and look at what we did" attitude got us killed last season against mediocre teams and humiliated in the champions league. It one of the reasons I just get away from even posting its just so disappointing to see this organization go from the best to a joke losing to second division teams and blowing it off like oh its no big deal.

But the Emirates Cup will be the bigger club, lets hope for the best.

With Galliani's behavior over the last couple years it makes perfect sense that there will be no more reinforcements. The worst part about his comments are alright if you cant afford the best players then so be it but he makes it sound like Milan already have a bunch of stars and that we won't really need anybody or something and the claim of wanting reinforcements as an irrational fan request.

Its funny how he makes the Inter president as an example when Inter are completely stacked and have a top coach now. Allegri is just a Berlusconi puppet thats why no major coach wants to come to Milan because you have to bend over to Galliani and Berlusconi. There is no comparison to their team. Galliani also makes it sound like they are on the same level with Inter.

Its also interesting his emphasis on the relief of all the stars that are staying. Pato is the only real star. Ronaldinho is great but on the decline. Silva still has to prove he is a star. Maybe Borriello. Everybody else is just mediocre or on the decline. 90% of our team isn't fit to sit on Barcelona's bench. We just lost to Varese for crying out loud and it was most of our starting line-up.

At this rate only Berlusconi selling and Galliani getting kicked out will result in getting back to the great top 3 teams in the world like they were 4 years ago.

The first step is to force players out, sell them off. Id say 60 percent of our team is worthless and makes no impact other than warming the pine and playing "left out".

Simple answer to the transfer campaign is creativity in middle field and up top. Fabiano, Robinho(hes a punk but a great player), Neymar, hernanes, dzeko.
I'd go with Neymar and Hernanes who are the next great players. Dzeko would be the #9 we need and professed his desire to come to Milan.

Right now raid Madrid and Man City for defensive players because their teams are looking to make cuts to make way for all their new signings.

In the end this all leads to frustration even thinking about these things because Milan are so mismanaged that none of these players will come. I doubt we will see any new great players to Milan this summer.

QUOTE (han2503 @ Jul 27 2010, 02:03 PM) *
Leo was no Capello Mourinho hybrid but he did imo as well as can be expected, with no experiance, the squad he was given and the injuries he had to deal with on top of that. Sure he wasn't flexible when it came to his main formation and system being disrupted, Huntelaar as winger -_- , but then again neither was Carlo.

Imo he did pretty good all the above considered. He managed to get the best we'll probably see out of Ronaldinho since 2006, he had a system in mind. I think some praise Leo a lot and some sweep what he did under the rug as if all the team managed last season was in spite of him, which imo is completely untrue, it was a team effort, the team got behind Leo and Leo persisted with what he thought was best and not let Silvio's incessant old age psycho babble sway him other ways.

I think had Leo stayed a couple of more seasons he would have matured into a great coach, he's smart enough and has the charisma for it.

So far I'm not all that happy with what's going on with Allegri the first press conference and Allegri barely spoke 2 words while Silvio went on and on about which formation and which players should play where. And the fact that Allegri seems satisfied with what he's being given. Hopefully I'm wrong about him and he'll give Silvio the proverbial f u and do what he think is best for the team, not let Silvio bully him into doing otherwise

Agreed.

Leonardo was the scapegoat. The basic problem with Leonardo is 90 percent of the team he was given was the decaying Ancelotti generation and he had no time to assert his own identity in the formation. I give him props for standing up to Berlusconi. The root of the problem is the upper management of the club and their arrogance. . Like Galliani stating that the fans were ungrateful. Its just unheard of. Its like what Mourinho says he doesnt focus on the past, all that matters is now and what we do now. Berlusconi is stuck in the past. Galliani comes out and criticizes the Milan fans, saying they are ungrateful. You sold Kaka, Schevchenko, and Gourcuff is a matter of 3 years without reinvesting those funds except for Pato and Silva and you expect us to be grateful to you to watch Milan become a team that loses to MLS teams and second division teams.

Problem is if you are an opposite team its so obvious with what you do to Milan. The only players that can create anything are Pato, Ronaldinho, and Pirlo. So you shut them down each game. Ronaldinho is the only proven creative force on this team, double man him and the offense will probably do nothing. Pato is a box striker that needs support without that support hes a lone wolf up there with little help. Take out the piece and the whole puzzle falls.

The issue is not to expect more from Pato and Ronaldinho. The issue is that this is a team environment and if you dont have the supporting cast, then Pato and Ronaldinho will do nothing this season.

Another terrible start to what appears to be a terrible campaign this season. Reading we are praising Verdi and others yet they couldn't break down a second league team's defense to score goals. We started with pretty much the same team that will start each game in the Serie A minus Ronaldinho, Borriello, and Pirlo.

The whole Allegri we need Pirlo ploy is a bunch of excuses. Pirlo was second rate last year and now hes another year older and more injury prone than ever. Allegri has no chance against Inter. Did you read that with the sale of Balotelli and possibly Maicon they will have 100 million plus to spend on players if Benitiez wishes. Milan have sold Kaka, Schevchenko, and Gourcuff and have yet to invest any of that money except pay off the debts from Galliani's terrible business flops.

I guess you have to have some optimism because it is Milan and your team but the reality of their situation is like an ominous cloud over the horizon. They are completely depleted except for Pato and Silva. They could get rid of everybody else and I would be fine with it, another year of watch a ship sink into the abyss. And watching this team its like if I was a coach of an opposite team its so simple= take out Ronaldinho and Pirlo and this team will fall to pieces and thats what the best teams will do to us.

Because we need another mid as much as we need a new fullback. Look at our midfield. Its Pirlo, Rino, Flamini, Seedorf, Ambro, Abate, Dinho, Cardacio. It's littered with defensive mids. Pirlo is the only creative central mid we have plus Seedorf bvut are we really going to spend another season hoping that he would wake up and stop being a lazy @ss? Dinho is our only attacking mid and when you're solely relying on this Dinho you know you have problems.

Fullback is another big issue, but this shouldn't be an either or situation as both are desperately needed. We need a left back and another mid, if these 2 positions are not filled for next season we're going to be screwed

Yes! And with the Ancelotti full backs over wingers system they rely on the #9 forward once Scheva(which we never replaced) and a solid attacking midfielder- kaka (no replacement) aside from that 5 years ago Pirlo seedorf and Gattuso was probably the best midfield in the business, now they've lost their pace and I believe motivation they are too complacent. I am Pirlo I have a spot no matter what happens= complacency.

On top of this our distribution from our full backs is less than adequate.

We have major holes in this in this line-up. But what can we do nothing.

what is wrong with this guy. He's got serious issues.

He's pulling the mourinho technique trying to give His player some confidence and taking a shot at Alonso.

At least he replaced Alonso with someone solid. Look at us we get rid of all of our offensive midfielders- kaka and gourcuff that still have something, getting a ridiculous sum of money and not replace them. We are the biggest joke of world football. Every season we wait it gets worse because we need more. Soon we will need 5 midfielders, 3 strikers and 3 defenders. The only way we will get this done is if we get bought out by some Arab nation.
Every year we cover the wound with a bandaid and it takes time for players to settle.

Since when were Inter a reference point in football ? they have never won anything outside of Italy.

I'm not being bitter, just realizing the capability of our team and it is not looking good, nothing is clicking

Aside from the rivalry with Inter. Inter is superior in every way to Ac Milan. Defense offense and midfield keeper and coach are all better than Milan. Inter are on their way to being competitive in Europe and morratti and mourinho will do what it takes to get the winning combination. I like Milan over Inter but it's just a fact.

With Milan it's always backwards looking. We won consistently 10 years ago and we have a winning tradition.

If you look at barca, Chelsea, Madrid, and man u it's about this season- now!! These are the tier 1 teams. Milan are now tier 2 or 3. Again this is not me getting emotional this is just fact from the performances of the team. I think it's a travesty that the Milan powers have made such horrible business decisions and now people think of Milan as an old team that used to be really good.

Gila was a scapegoat, nothing more. Alot of the criticism about him is unjust. Like the myth that he never scored important goals, despite the fact that about 90% of them could be considered important.

Gilardino didn't work in the Milan system. The fact is he didn't produce because he wasn't an adequate replacement to fill the shoes of Scheva and everyone criticises him. We had a strikeforce of box strikers with nobody that could pass them the ball. On the other hand he didn't produce in champions league which really separates a world player from a regular player.

I don't get how Milan don't get the simple fact that Ancelottis tactics were dependent on a solid #9 forward. I said Torres and Benzema look at them now.

It's great to see someone new. Huntelaar walked right past me about 3 years ago little did I know.

He seems to be more of a box striker really not the number 9 that this team needs. We already have Pato and Inzaghi. Many were saying this about Gilardino and looked what happened. We are still playing Ancelotti tactics without Kaka who made the offense ticket.

We still are basically the same team. Gallianis announcements about keeping Pirlo suggest that our entire season is saved. I like Pirlo but I think we need to think of the future had we dealt with this two years ago would not be in this predicament.

Juventus and inter continue to get players. Genoa looks tough. With berlusconi as in politics we will never have the investment this club needs.

These aren't friendlies. Everybody says this crap. These teams want to win. Barca played it's youth squad against Tottenhams full squad and they looked better than Milan. These big clubs want to win everything and preseason is showing a team that wants and has the quality to win. Has Man u lost and Barca lost. If they lost 4 preseason games in a row heads would roll.

And hey minimi bluesSummer was on this forum when Milan lost to Liverpool. Just like you we thought the same thing back then oh come it's not that bad. Let's be optimistic It's Been a disaster ever since and let's tell you Milan didn't win our last champions league. Kaka won it. Now we lost our Maldini of the new generation and the new Zidane gourcuff(I don't buy he's the new Zidane but that's what people say). If you ever been to San siro it's some of the most passionate fans on the planet they deserve better than this as well as the rest of us.

Bluesummer was saying let's rebuild two years ago like I was and we were right. I remember saying at this rate Kaka will go to Madrid everbody said no Kaka is true milanista yeah Milan spoke bad about Madrid for years and jumped on that cash like an addict on crack
