La Berlusconi all'attacco:

Miss Berlusconi attacks

"Milan costs too much"

Marina against Galliani. Milan spent too much, Milan costs too much. In summary, lots of troubles in order to balance the sheets of Milan, a necessary operation in order not to agravate the family's businesses. In the Berlusconi's house,it's been a recurring topic of discussion where Papa Silvio has had this argument with his son and daughter, Piersilvio and Marina. The 2 children have been continously suggesting and inviting Papa Silvio that perhaps it's no longer necessary to balance the sheets and give money to Adriano Galliani to handle it without seeing any result and return on the investment. Morever, they've been saying that a year of transition is ok and acceptable (reported by Mediaset's vice president, Piersilvio Berlusconi).

To tell the truth, more than Piersilvio, it's Miss Marina whom is in charge of the affairs as being the wise and counselor, who's already president of Finnivest and Mondadori, and not a surprise she's considered by the experts and the specialised circles as being one of the 30 most important and influential women in the world. Economists experts are reporting that it's her who is the heir to the Berlusconi empire. It's her whom has asked and invitered her dad, a spending-free and generous fan, to stop putting his hand to his wallet, at least for a short little while, a few months. It's also her whom requested the audits and papers of the Oliveira transfer which cost 40 billion lira (about 40 million $ correct me my Italians friends if this is incorrect) and how difficult and challenging it was to balance the sheets despite the funds from the Shevchenko transfer to Chelsea.

Rumours also have it that Marina and Piersilvio are tired of Galliani, suggesting to their Dad to get rid of him from Milan's organisation. However and not surprisingly, Galliani has been trying as hard as he could and with all his power to hold onto his post at Milan. But the wind is turning, specially now that Miss Marina is in charge...

This certainly would explain many things

In all honesty, I dont know the reliability of this .. But, taking it into consideration; this is messed up .. Balancing the books has been Galliani's issue for some time now ..

In anycase, Milan is a business and it has always been run as such .. The board dictates and the club impliments, I guess

What makes you say that?

Would you rather Galliani fritter all Milans money away or would you rather someone who demands results?

it looks as if she won't allow any transfers....
it's something different with demanding results, or being stingy

Read it again and you will see that the main reason she doesn't want to spend is because Milan haven't won anything in recent years. Now that might be ok with Galliani but it isn't with an ambitious business woman.
She also wonders where the money from Sheva's sale went and why we paid so much for Oli? is Galliani doing something he shouldn't with the clubs money?

Τhis is the good part in this story... but without new players how's she gonna get results in the future? Also Milan have spend very little money in the past three years and they reached the CL final and semis: that means BIG money!! So as a bussiness Milan has been going well...

If she decides not to buy anyone this January and we don't qualify for the CL then it will be worse. And what would then be the plan of action, she won't buy anyone for a decade?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now in my eyes what she is firstly saying is that they have been giving Galliani money to strengthen the team with no rewards. She then adds that as Milan aren't winning anything then is it worth spending money on them? As a business woman she has a good point - you wouldn't keep ploughing money into a business that was unprofitable, would you?

Secondly, and possibly more importantly, she questions why it was so difficult to balance the sheets after buying Oli even though we had sold Sheva for three times Oli's price!!!! Now where did that money go? I mean we are not talking peanuts here but around £18million pounds (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) surely the wages aren't that much!!!!
To me it seems she has Milan best interests at heart, she is a business woman and would run Milan like a business. That would mean that we would have money to spend but we would also have to get results - is that such a bad thing?

Where has this money gone then? and don't tell me it all went on wages!

Don't be so short sighted, this could be what is needed for Milan to become great again. I would rather a long term solution to our problem as it seems our problems aren't down to just buying new players (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanx for the summary I_Rossoneri, the only thing I would like to add .. This has no foundation to it, but it could be the reality of the situation .. Berlusconi aquired Milan to boost his political campain .. Since a lot of Italians in the 80's were football fanatics and would gain him popularity in Italy, by the 90's Italian football was #1 .. Spanish and English couldnt compare, Italy had the best players coming in and were the ones spending BIG, which made his name anonymous to your average joe voter .. But now that Berlusconi is out of office, could it be that he is looking to sell Milan .. Seeing as he has no interest in it what so ever ? Or would his children carry on w/ other interests in mind ?

Answers ? I dont think anyone is fit enough to answer except the president himself .. But hypothetically speaking, it does make sense that because of Milan, Berlusconi got voted in office .. And now that he isnt, how is Milan important to him ?

Interesting to see how this will turn out
