You're kidding me?? We all saw in the end that it wasn't Eriksonn's fault that England was incompetent...

And I bet it's not McLaren's fault now.

ps I like Eriksson ever since his Lazio days

If England want to move forward they need to hire a foreign coach. Lippi might be an option since he said that he doesn't have any offer as of yet. They should have gotten Scolari when they had the chance, not the clueless McLaren  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

It's our FA seeing as we pay Eriksson millions a year still! So therefore we looked for the cheap alternative (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

When I say foreign coach I mean one that is competent and knows something about football other then the 4-4-2 formation. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

You really think that the coach has nothing to do with the fact that they are pethatic? And I think McLaren is at fault for their current situation, look at how the team plays or the terrible choices he makes.

How can ALL England's coaches be at fault every time?? There must be something wrong with their player's mentality, passion, approach... take a guess!

Eriksson is a great coach in my opinion... England have been playing on 4-4-2 since 10,000BC!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I don't know maybe it's a law or something!

Because he was fired. Fired coaches get paid the remaining of their contracts... sounds like a good job, doesn't it? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Of course it has something to do with the overpaid, over pampared, over hyped players they have, but the coaches are at fault. And even though Eriksson has failed, at least they have never been as terrible as they currently are under McLaren.

What England are doing now is not playing football, it's called 'punting the ball up to crouch and hope he sticks it in' (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I'm just saying that if England were to hire a good foreign coach then I think that 70% of their problems would be solved, the other would be taking care of their lazy @ss players and let them know that they aren't the best in the world as they are lead to believe by the English media hyping machine, if the coach is good enough to achieve this and manage to motivate them then they would be fine imo.

Good one, very true though.

Definately, do you know where I could apply? I'm pretty sure that I'd do a better job then McLaren (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Benitez In Amazing Attack On Jorge Valdano

(IMG:http://images.skysports.com/images/playerpics06_07/Managers/Premiership/benitez_hands.jpg)

Rafa Benitez has laid into Jorge Valdano for his earlier criticism of his coaching style, and also slammed the former Madrid man's attempts to hog all the plaudits when things were going well at the Bernabeu.

Valdano had spoken out against Chelsea and Liverpool following the Champions League semi-final, voicing his displeasure with the managerial styles of Mourinho and Benitez.

However, some believe he took it a bit too far when describing Rafa and Liverpool's playing style as "sh** on a stick."

The Liverpool coach has now lashed out at Valdano, suggesting that he should show respect towards other clubs, and also rapped the former Madrid man's glory-hunting with Los Merengues.

"I believe that the people at this club working to obtain objectives deserve respect, deep respect," he said. "And I believe what was said has shown a lack of respect to the club, the fans, who are something sacred as is our stadium, Anfield.

"Using 'sh** on a stick' and other unsavoury descriptions, for me, shows an absolute ignorance of the historical reality of this organisation in the world-wide scheme of football.

"And I am talking about Mr Jorge Valdano, a person I have known for 20 years, since we were working with the junior teams of Real Madrid and someone I do not regard highly in the professional aspect.

"I have not gone his way to attack him through the media. It simply infuriates me that a person who has the privilege of being able to express himself through the mass media does not do it with honour and education.

"And I repeat, does not do so by showing little respect to an organisation like Liverpool, with it's success and enviable history. Look at our Champions League form. The first game against Barcelona at Anfield. It was spectacular. And against Galatasaray, Bordeaux, PSV."

Has also rapped the former Madrid man's glory-hunting, suggesting that he was right in front at the Bernabeu while there was success, and quickly slipped away when there was trouble.

"I know what he's like," said "He has a lot to be grateful for to people like Ramon Martinez, Angel Cappa and Alberto Giraldez, to mention only some examples of where a coach and sports director work well together. People, that we all say, contributed more to a project than has been acknowledged.

"I feel he was at the fore-front of the press conferences and when the medals were being handed out, while the real professionals with talent were always in the shade."

Valdano is lucky Mourinho has probably more things to do than answer him...
Benitez showed class. Mourinho would insult him immediatly. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I remember 1-2 years ago when Cruijff criticize Mourinho talking about "boring football", etc...
Jose's answer: "OK. So I invite him to come and coach a modern football club - a top club. Oh I forgot, the last time I watched him coaching he was humiliated by Milan in a CL final... 4-0. Why did he run away from the modern football? Come and teach me."

After that Cruijff never answered him. It was on his Record DEZ (magazine) article.
