Oh and if any of you guys think Juve weren't giving their all and didn't want to win this badly, think again

I don't see this as the write off you guys are making it out to be, it's another official title for us

QUOTE (d'Arc.LP @ Dec 23 2016, 08:20 PM) *
Players cheering and crying with tears of joy for winning a none important cup - now i didnt think we hit bottom when we lost vs Genoa, but this...

The very next Serie A game is much more important than this game.

Are you for real??? For crying out loud! Most of these players haven't won anything in their careers, so winning an official silverware with a club like Milan against Juventus nonetheless gives them immense joy. It's understandable.

Even more, the fact they were so happy shows how much they cared about winning, which is something we fans should be proud about.

Seriously, stop acting like a bunch of prima donnas and enjoy the victory.

I saw this as no importance but the players didn't, the manager didn't, and they gave it their all, and frankly earned an important win - a second win in 2 months over Juve.

The gravitas of the trophy is minimal but the psychological impact on our club from this result is huge.

The players were looking jaded leading up to this match, with a form slide quite tangible - and even in the first half the quality of the play was lacking from us up till the equaliser but Montella's organisation was quite obvious and it worked too, then after that goal we were amazingly the better team. That all gave those knackered players and the manager a big lift going into 2017, and if we can do some business next month in some badly lacking areas, such as central defence, central midfield, left wing and striker, we can start to look toward the rest of this season with hope.

UCL may still be beyond us as things stand, but a place in Europe isn't.

This trophy didn't consistently matter to all fans, it didn't to me, but I was happy to win, but the importance of it upon the players was huge and to that extent, you have to say good job.

Except the director with the penalties - that viewing angle from the opposite end of the pitch is vile and should only be used for replays.

No point in arguing, but I would switch this win over Genoas or Napolis loss in a blink.

If I didn't knew better, I would say Juve let us have this one 'cos Berlusconi needed closure (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

So I haven't been around here for quite sometime... lol

But I have still been following Milan all throughout still, just been very busy.

We haven't yet fully recovered, but I will say this, I am pleased with our side presently and what we have been doing.

The pride of playing for Milan seems to be making a return with the current bunch of players.

And while we don't have any 'World Class' players at the moment, we have a lot of very good ones in my opinion.

Definitely potential ones to look forward to though... Romagnoli, Donnarumma, Locatelli, De Sciglio, Bonaventura, Suso... Man I really like this our side at the moment.

And yes while this isn't the biggest accomplishment of the club, its the best one we've had for 4+ years. So I'll definitely take it. Its an 'official' trophy that we won against great opposition.

We have more success to come... Forza Milan!!!

I'd switch it for Roma.

It is not the most important trophy, but it is a trophy, and it is Juve !!!

I only got to watch the end of the game (91st minute onwards), but what made it enjoyable is that I was watching it with a huge Juve fan. Got to hear complaints about a penalty (on a clear dive), a goal (on a clear offside) and another penalty (on a questionable handball). Penalty shootout was painful to watch, especially with Lapa's miss early on.

But what matters is that we won, and I believe it will help going into the rest of the season.

Now all we need is a couple of decent players to get us through the Summer transfer market, when we will (hopefully) have money to spend. And at this point, I would have no problem selling Bacca if that is what it takes to raise some funds. A poacher that cannot score even when he has a golden opportunity is not worth hanging on to, IMHO.

Yeah, not the most important trophy, but winning breeds confidence which breeds more winning.

I thought we deserved the win overall. Suso was exceptional, while Bacca's was really awful and at this point I'd happily cash in on him as his effort and end product just hasn't been there for a while.

The idea that a bunch of top class professionals didn't try in a Cup final is pretty laughable. Juve's players are born winners, they've won so much and they hate losing. Even more so to one of the historical rivals like Milan.

If you seriously thought Juve didn't care about winning - look at their reaction to the handball incident at the end. Players who don't care don't react in such a way.

Big win. Hopefully a good sign to usher a new era of Milan prosperity.

Great win. Thrilled. Yes, it's Serie A's Community Shield but so what?

We did well. And the players were really up for it.

And I hope against hope Bertolacci is turning a corner. He's been out for the entire season and has come up against some very tough games as soon as he returned. And good to see him hold his own.

It'll take an entirely new team bar Suso, Romagnoli & Donnarumma to achieve that. We have so far to go, it'll take years to catch Juve.

I disagree. I think we have some very good foundation players and a few players like Abate who can take the role of senator players for rotational use.

I just named the three very good foundational players we have. Beyond those three I'm not sure who you think is good enough in our squad to usurp Juve. Abate is having a good season but will be 35 by the time we've managed to catch Juve again. If we even do.

Oh cool. So he's roughly the same age as Cafu when we were dominating the world! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
