Lippi dosent like Ambrosini (and Cassano and Panucci and so on)

Gattuso will get called up regardless of his condition and form, because Lippi has his favorites and will always call them up

Not directly relevant to the Primavera, but is the Yepes signing official? If so it is a huge slap in the face to Albertazzi. What more must these Primavera players do to get a chance with the seniors? I am still fuming that the useless Mancini is played ahead of the infinitely more promising Verdi

Im not gonna rant against the management because quite frankly there is nothing more i can say. Their leadership is erratic at the best of times. I hope they can sort their act out asap

Berbatov would add absolutely nothing to the squad, he must not be signed on any level

No thanks to Berbatov

Borriello is better for us than him

Verdi Goal

Zigoni Goal (Verdi Assist)

Drop kick Mancini from the senior squad, promote Verdi. Problem sorted

Edit: Goals from the Primavera Final Cup at the San Siro

Edit 2: Who is Meregalli? Primavera player?

QUOTE (Fishdoll @ Apr 16 2010, 12:46 PM) *
Oh, the article says he'll stay through the end of the season and will coach the 3 friendlies in north america. But there's another article from another mediaset guy that confirms he'll leave. This one adds that Maldini won't play any real part in things at Milan until after Galliani is gone (there's a lot of bad feelings - understandably - about how poorly Milan handled Maldini's farewell).

Rightly so. Not keen one bit about the rumour bringing Lippi here one bit

QUOTE (servbot @ Apr 16 2010, 01:04 PM) *
If someone offers 55 million for Pato that seems like a snap-sell decision to me. He's a good player, but no way he's worth anywhere close to that much at the moment.

Its not so much a question of money rather than talent, he is the only real star we have at the moment, if we sell him, then we have nothing to build around in the future.

QUOTE (Suhail 3 @ Apr 16 2010, 12:18 PM) *
hang on though pedro and bojan have just come through recently and ive realised its when messi has been leading the team

messi came through when ronaldinho was leading the team so basically for the future fair enough but im worried about the present and i doubt we can pull out 4-5 good players just like that to send the taem into a potential title race next season sorry if i wasnt clear enough im just worried about the present

Ah, i see your point now

Investment in youth is a sound long term strategy, unfortunately, instead of being implemented five years ago when we were all crying for it and it was needed, its only being implemented now. But you are right, people like Zigoni etc are not yet ready

We cant rely on youth?

What about Barca? At one point or another, the following players played for their youth team: Cesc, Xavi, Messi, Pedro, Iniesta etc

They put in a lot of effort into their youth sector and it pays dividends, even R.Madrid's youth sector is brilliant, even if they under utilize players from it

Doh!

This is the day i arrive in the USA, but my flight dosent reach Baltimore until 8pm at the earliest

I remember when Milan came to pay Man City last season in a friendly, it was the day before my flight back to Manchester airport from France.

Perennially unlucky?

I have no problem with Dida staying, as long as its not an excuse for the management to avoid buying a top goalkeeper, and as long as he takes a significant pay cut

I still think that the flare hitting Dida was the beginning of the end for him. He was among the top five keepers in the world at that moment, but after getting hit, he never was the same. Its interesting to see if Cech manages to regain his spot among the elite, because he has never been the same after his head injury, and even J.Cesar has been dropping some absolute clangers since his car accident

Coincidence?

Midfield! That is unacceptable, he needs to be pushed into defence immediately

How is Paolo's oldest son doing? last i heard he was one of the stars of his team

Mancini does not have the hunger or the ability to play a part in the team. Worst case scenario is that we move Antonini to RB in an emergency

I would like a closer look at De Vito, maybe he can fill in for the LB position in the future

Strasser hasnt convinced me in the same way Darmian or Albertazzi did. He needs to improve a fair amount

I sincerely hope De Vito gets more chances as LB considering the dearth of alternative we have. Could be one for the future though

About the youth point on the first page

We all know that Ancelotti was averse to youth, but not playing young players is unfortunately a very real and serious problem in Italy. Lots of the big teams with promising players do not play youngsters for right reasons as well as wrong ones.

Besides its possible that the Primavera wasnt that great anyway. We probably didnt have many outstanding players.

Hopefully if a couple get promoted, it would be because they are 1st team material and not because we are cheap.

Haha

I have high hopes for Albertazzi and Verdi, while Zigoni seems very promising too. Also bring back Paloschi!

I pretty sure if Dida or Abbiati were assured that they weren't going to be getting regular playing time, one would have realized their better option would be to move clubs.

Yep

I also still stubbornly believe that we could have kept Gourcuff, if only we assured him of regular playing time, and told him that Ancelotti (the bane of his existence) and Kaka (only person who could keep him out of the squad) were leaving. Galliani at least must have known the last two points (worst kept secret in Milano at the time) and its astonishing that he still couldnt persuade him, especially considering the great season he had.

His negotiation skills have been off for a while though e.g. Zambrotta for £8m

4-3-3 is actually Huntelaar's formation.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I disagree. Goal poacher's mostly excel in a system where they have a support striker and preferably a trequartista. 4-3-3 operates best when there is a strong target man to lead the line (see Drogba and Chelsea in the Mourinho days). Its the reason why Borriello works well with the formation

QUOTE (LaPalma @ Mar 12 2010, 12:35 PM) *
4-3-3 is actually a brilliant system to field a single striker, poacher or not. And while I understand your hopes in Hunter I can not share them. He's a good player, just like Gila was, but the chemistry between Milan and KjH doesn't seem to be good. Sometimes those things can't be overcome by any tactical suggestion I think.

Huntelaar dosent quite suit the current team or formation, and like others have said before me, i cant see personnel changing or the tactics

How good is Astori?

He is currently a Bonera level defender, 3rd/4th choice i would say if we brought him back now. He has the potential to improve dramatically like Antonini imo.

I guess a 34 year old is a slight improvement over a 38 year old

Would have much preferred to see someone a decade younger. Does this rule out bringing back Astori? I will be pissed, if we are sacrificing our long term future for something which papers over the cracks. We still need some full backs and preferably someone to replace Seedorf

We have enough useless players at the club already. He can pack his things and go back to Inter at the seasons end

On a side note, why are so many of our players getting injured? wasnt Milan Lab built specifically to stop this? Could it be something to do with the training schedule?

Im a bit on the fence with the Hunter, he hasnt shown that he is acclimatising well to the league, but there is potential. We must however bring back Paloschi, it would be an absolute crime to let him slip away

If Mancini is somehow still at Milanello next season, i will shoot every single member of the management
