Boateng was just what our midfield needed, pace, energy.
Like mike said, good performance. Not faultless, but improving.

But i hear pato and antonini are injured... seems serious ;((

Boateng needs to learn how to hold his position more, ys his performance was eye catching, and imo it was a good performance, but an erratic one.

We can't really play without a DM in Serie A, today we had no option and fortunetly Auxerre were pretty spineless in the final third. So the question is, should we play Boateng instead of Seedorf, and who should be the other DM on the pitch? Ambro imo has been struggling in the last 2 games he's played and was struggling today before he was subbed off. I think it would be really interesting to see a Flamini-Pirlo-Boateng midfield, it would be a lot faster and dynamic. Plus we'd have 2 really strong players coming off the bench in Seedorf and Ambro who can both change the flow of a match.

Zambro was great tonight. I think that answers the question as to who should be the regular RB, a natural RB is always better then a makeshift one.

Pato imo is getting a bit frozen out on that right side, I think Allegri needs to figure out a way to have him play more centrally while still getting the best out of Dinho. Robinho was good as well, lacks a bit of sharpness, Ronnie slipped him through in the last minutes and he could have done better if he was more sharp to react to it

Agreed on everything. I'd really like to see a Boateng-Pirlo-Flamini midfield at this point, though I'm certain Allegri will keep playing Seedorf. Every coach that trains Milan falls in love with Seedorf. He must have a special charm or something.

Boateng DM? Dude, Boateng is a box-to-box midfielder. He defends and attacks at the same time. It's the same thing our stupid DMs tried to do and miserably failed against Cesena, because it's not in their nature, whilst Boateng has it in his blood. I don't care who he plays instead of, the guy must be a starter from now on.

He camed in for Ambrosini. We had to play as DM. I know where he plays and his characteristics, that's why I don't like him.

SELFISH player !

I think in certain matches Seedorf is irriplacable, havign said that when he's not on his game he tends to hold the entire midfield back.

Also Pirlo cannot be exposed anymore, I saw it happen tonight a couple of times as well. Imo the DM needs to play in front of the defense, Pirlo cannot play that position anymore, he doesn't have the legs for it.

We'll see in the next game who Allegri chooses to start, hopefully Flamini is fit so he can choose a regular 3 for the midfield. We need some stability in that area.

Now they're saying Pato is also injured (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Michael Essien scored twice for Chelsea,he worked his way into the box for a header mind you...

That's similar to the roll Boateng plays, what he did was perfectly fine because Zambrotta wasn't an idiot like Bonera and held his position,i think he got caught out once the whole game when he actually had to chase down the guy running down the flank otherwise he was on top of it.

So it's all fine so as long as he's not stupid about it like Gattuso was...he can go forward

Com'on guys.

He was supposed to be a DM, not an AM .

It's his fault we were risked.

He left Pirlo in DM's position and he had to cover all his zone. I don't want to see him again in our formation. Not without Ambrosini or Flamini in the game too.

Well...

1) The guy who scored two fantastic goals was MOM... Not sure why people keep putting up other names. Easy choice here.

2) I really liked what I saw from Boateng overall, but I agree he got sloppy in the last 15 minutes or so.

3) As for him being a DM - yes, but isn't this exactly what Rino ended up doing last game? I cant help but wonder if Allegri is insisting on these guys playing box to box style... its a mistake, IMO, if that's what is going on... but I do think Boateng did pretty well in that role. I just wish we had another solid, stay at home DM/water carrier for Pirlo to put on the other side of him. Flamini as another strong box to box guy might work...

Playing Flamini next to Pirlo and let Boateng roam more freely would be ideal. Ambro has been disappointing so far, Gattuso can't play anymore. The only problem is Seedorf. I can't see Allegri sitting him on the bench.
