All the Spanish La Liga talk in here!

Posted by: Portikins Aug 19 2006, 07:40 PM

1 week to start... so any predictions? Barcelona or R.Madrid?

I think this year, La Liga will rock. smile.gif

Posted by: LaPalma Aug 19 2006, 07:46 PM

I really hope it'll be more exciting than last year. After all Real signed some really good players, and they most probably have the best attack in the world. Their only problem is their lack of a real number 10, btu I'll expect they let Guti and Emerson share this job. I'm also egaer to see Atletico, they most surely will attack with their expensive signing this year.

Yup. Atletico and Valencia... good teams to watch too. It will be interesting.

it's Barca's IMO ...

Posted by: Rossoneri7 Aug 20 2006, 04:26 AM

I think Barca too, they are the strongest on the pitch and on paper ..

But Capello could make the change for Madrid .. You never know

Posted by: misha Aug 20 2006, 01:52 PM

I'm sure Barca will win it. They have almost perfect team. It will take some time for Real to join all pieces together

Posted by: dudernahata Aug 20 2006, 07:30 PM

ya i think it will be barca this year. they reinforced their defense. now they will be almost unstopable

Posted by: X-Offender Aug 20 2006, 10:44 PM

I agree. Not to mention they will have Xavi and Messi back from the injuries.

What a boring first half, 0-0. Real sucks...

Posted by: LaPalma Aug 27 2006, 07:56 PM

The second half was even more boring 0-0 in the end...Real needs to play 1000 % better if they want to win La Liga this year...

He's got everything a top class forward needs to not only survive in the Serie A, but become top scorer as well. With a team like Milan I can see him scoring 25+ goals every season.

I know he's one of your favourite players but how can you tell??? Getting past a spanish defence has nothing to do with getting past an italian one; Serie A is a striker's hell you know that. I'm not saying he wouldn't make it I just have serioud doubts on whether he could!!! unsure.gif

It's just that gut feeling you get when you see such strikers like Sheva, Berbatov, Torres, Klose and so on. These players IMO can make it almost in all top Europian leagues.

BTW, LaPalma, I didn't get the chance to watch Berbatov that much last season. Tell me a little about him. You have seen him play!

No Problem. I've seen him quite often during the last 5 years or so. Extremely talented fast striker. He scored about 45 the last 2 seasons with Leverkusen. In fact if he would have left earlier people would put into one league with Tevez, Torres and Eto'o already. I once had the pleasure to see him life in the stadium. I have to say besides Klose and Van Nistelroy (some years ago) he's the best striker I've ever seen live. The point is, there's no doubt he's worth the 16 Million € or so Tottenham paid for him, and he would have been a great replacement for Sheva sad.gif

GOOD start for 'FC Hype Catalunia'.

Celta scored 2... c_nts scored 3. 1st goal was offside. On the 3rd goal, there is a foul. OH, and 1min before the 3rd and winning goal, a Celta man was sent off.

CAN THIS C_NTS WIN A FCKING MATCH WITHOUT THE REFEREES? We talk about Moggi and all that sh_t... in Spain IS THE SAME.

Hum... a bit of history: in 96/97, when Capello coached Madrid the first result (the first day of La Liga) was a draw too. And Barça won 4-2 away in Oviedo. In the end, as you know Madrid was Champion.

Deja vu? rolleyes.gif

Posted by: dst Aug 29 2006, 10:03 AM

and ofcourse no investigations ever in Spain ... but all of them will talk negative of Milan when we come across on CL while we have never done something like that but just because ourn name was involved ... f@ck that catalan team!!!!! more than a club my @ss; you're less than a club ... in a league with Moggi you are!!!!

I've seen the second half of it. And valecia sucked pretty much, it was Atletico attacking the entire 45 minutes of the second half. But even after a Valencia player was sent of, they didn't manage to score...

I've seen the goal too. It was really great. I never thought that he was capable of such a goal. Of course I respect Beckham as well, but I think he's the most overrated player in football history. But it seems he finally decided to play football, and concentrate on it, good for him. It seems that now with Zidane gone he's one of the most important player in Reals squad.

van Nistelrooy just destroyed Osasuna, with a poker (away, the match was not in Bernabeu).

4 goals. The last one was pure class. This guy is 30 or something but still probably the best striker (in-box) in the world. Unbelievable.

Osasuna 1 - 4 R.Madrid

More like RVN vs Osasuna .. Super hattrick by the Ruud

Posted by: Portikins Nov 12 2006, 10:56 PM

Ronaldinho 3-1 Zaragoza.

The 1st goal with a header from a corner.
The 2nd one was a beautiful freekick right on the corner.
Saviola scorer the third with an empty goal, after Ronaldinho's freekick (another one) hit the bar.

Simply amazing.

Real Madrid set to sign lucrative new television deal

Real Madrid are set to sign a new deal for the rights to televise its matches that will secure the financial stability of the club for the best part of a decade, the Primera Liga side have said.
"The deal guarantees us 800 million euros ($1.02 billion) over seven seasons and will be signed in the next few days," a club spokesman said on Wednesday.
The nine-times European champions have not disclosed the name of the company buying the rights or when the deal would come into effect.
On Tuesday evening, Real president Ramon Calderon told a conference: "We are the club who earns the most from its television rights and we are going to sign the most important contract in the history of world sport."
Real's television rights are currently owned by Sogecable , through Audiovisual Sport, who also hold the rights for most of the Primera Liga and second division clubs.
At the beginning of November, publicly-run regional television station Telemadrid said they were going to make a bid for Real's television rights, though they recognised the club were also negotiating with other bidders.
According to Spanish sports daily AS, from the beginning of the 2008/9 season Telemadrid have offered an average of 115 million euros ($147 million) per year, starting at 75 million euros in the first season and rising progressively to 125 million euros.
Financial Web site elconfidencial.com said on Tuesday that Sogecable were offering Real 55 million euros a season, but after hearing of the Telemadrid bid had decided to double their offer.
A spokesman for Sogecable declined to comment on the subject.

Like Juventus last season. Although last season they got away with it because they managed to build a huge gap in the beginning, but if Barca keep up with them for the entire season then Real will come out empty handed once again.

I don't really think they can win it. They aren't even in first at the moment and are already playing like sh!t.

Last season Juve had already carved out an 11 point lead by this time. They may not have been playing good but they where efficient (like all Cappello teams) but they collapsed in the end. They only made it to the finish line because of the massive lead they had built up and because we screwed up the game against Meesina (I think, it was the match before the CL game against Lyon in the San Siro) If we had won that match we would have finished level and won the league because of the better head to heads.

Plus lets not forget all the last gasp draws, which where grabbed because of penalties or extra time that stretched past the 5 minute mark rolleyes.gif

@porto ..

They won today .. But the match was really poorly played .. Valencia had alot of injuries; they played with an injured striker and Baraja just came back from injury ...

Well, the season is long, I would like Valencia to win it ! They have a competitive team, which is also modest, not full of themselves like Madrid and FC Hype ..

Anyways .. Its a looong competition .. We'll see how it goes, btw .. Capello is the worst, he doesnt know how to play a beutiful game .. ONLY how to bring in results .. Yawn .. Booooring, the ONLY time he showed what beutiful football was about was in 92/93, and guess who he was coachin back then.. The BEST team to ever set foot in a stadium ! cool.gif

At least they don't need 2 penalties per match or 2 goals in offside position per week to win... but I believe I'm the only one who's watching this.

In La Liga, there's no match without some pathetic ref decision in Barca's favour. A penalty... a goal that shouldn't be allowed... it was last year and is happening this year.

And the CL? Remember last year? Since the 1/8 finals... against Chelsea: Del Horno's situation. On the 1/4 a clear penalty for Benfica... nothing. On the 1/2 finals Shevchenko's goal...

Well, I think it's just me. Hype FC... best team in the world... yeah, right. rolleyes.gif

PS: On the last weekend they won 4-0 against V'real, but the 2 first goals shouldn't be allowed (no penalty, and offside)...

Posted by: Jack Sparrow Nov 27 2006, 11:20 AM

I dunno...I'm kinda rooting for Sevilla, don't have a huge thing for Barca or Real, don't like Atletico's style of play and not a 'Rijkaard for coach' person either. I'm sure Rijkaard would cost much more than Hiddink(since Marina's acting like she's got P.... erm forget it...I'm not gonna be accused of being a misogynist) and Hiddink is a much better coach imo.

Definitely great sig mchanna. 'm thinking of outsourcing my sig work to you. laugh.gif That's a laugh Indians outsourcing.

Benfica should have had 2 penalties awarded...but anyway, moving on!! UEFA must have carved their name in the cup before the whole competition began, so they had to have them as winners or the cup would be useless wink.gif

And I know what you're talking about, the cheap ref calls that are as obvious as when they happened in Juve matches. But I just can't Real, mostly because of what they are trying to do with Kaka.

No dignety and no respect towards the club only trying to tap up our player.

Also I think he's arrogant, overrated (although I think that England wouldn't made it far without him), and his wife.

There's a difference to admiring a clubs history and achievments to that of admiring the club (the players and directors are what makes that club) though.

The Real of right now are a disgrace,of course I admire their rich history, but what counts is what they are doing now, Calderon and Mijotovic represent the club and what they are doing just makes the club in general look bad.

I'm not a Beckham fan, but here are some facts that might change your opinion about him.

1. Did you know that his move to Real wasn't his choice but the club's? They needed money and they had to sell him. He would have never left ManU.

2. Is it his fault that he is good looking and people go crazy for him hence him becoming a "brand"? Kaka does modelling too you know...

3. He does a lot of charity work which is always a great thing to do.

4. He was a true capitan for England during the WC and as you mentioned, it was because of him that they went as far as they did.

1.) not really... just thought he moved because he had problems with sir alex, and the sir alex-boots-incident...

2.) It's not his fault? He was nothing before, not a really good-looking type, but then he married posh, and now they are 'The Beckhams' i think he even got titled or so...
I know that kaka does modelling *thank god lol*
but it's different.
beckham went to katie/tom's wedding, although the club requested his presence, so he reluctantly went back, but had a lunch or so with them.

Well Cappello does have a bity of a fetish for the Raul Van Nistelroy due rolleyes.gif

I think this will turn out just like it did for DP in Juve, Cappello preferred the trez Ibra partnership and was stubborn about it till the end even if Ibra was in terrible for last season and couldn't score if you put a gun to his head, and when ever DP came on he scored or helped Juve out.

Frenchies...

Barcelona and Real Madrid denied it already. I believe that's b/s. Wasn't Le Monde the paper who invented the Amstrong-Doping situation? Or it was another french paper?

Posted by: florenti1 Dec 8 2006, 03:51 PM

Of course they denied it
What did you expect

The thing is that this subject has started in june
but they have talked mostly about cyclists and they said that players with ''big names'' are involved

From june untill now we didn't hear anything about this
In spain they probably hoped that the subject will be closed

In Gazzetta i read that Fuentes said that he will never say the names of the players and clubs involved
he has been threatened with death for three times

Results:
Barcelona 1-0 Sociedad (Ronaldinho solved the problem)
Sevilla 2-1 R.Madrid (A draw would be a fair result. Ronaldo missed a big chance and some mins after the home-club scored the 2nd. It's football.)

Table:
Barcelona 33 pts
Sevilla 31
R.Madrid 29
-

Good League. I guess we'll have a trio fighting for the title until the end.

Marcelo » 7M (euros)
Higuain » 13M
Gago » 20(!?)M

The first 2 are already confirmed. I believe Gago will be a R.Madrid player too in 1... 2 weeks probably.

I'd prefer to lose against Treviso (0-3 at home), than the humiliation of the Inter 4-1 Milan (yes, for me it wasn't 4-3. It was 4-1 and we just started to play football 'cause of stupid Matrix).

I'd prefer the second, just cause Inter don't have anything to moan us about. Even if they win the next 5-10 matches, they will never deny who's been superior in these last 20 years... 20 years? I mean 99 years, cause 2008 hasn't come yet (Inter was founded in 1908 for those who don't know). Not to mention the 6-0 result of 2001. Please Porto, never compare Milan to Inter again, it's so childish.

Becks snubs Inter

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham will not be joining Inter in the summer after he agreed to a five-year contract with LA Galaxy.

The former England captain has been in and out of the Real side this season and sporting director Predrag Mijatovic confirmed that the player would not renew his agreement.

This revived Inter’s hopes of bringing the 31-year-old to the San Siro, but he has now signed himself up for a lucrative MLS stint.

“This week Real Madrid asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer was to extend my contract for a further two seasons,” said Beckham to Reuters.

“I considered several options – to stay in Madrid or move to other important English and European teams – but I have decided to join LA Galaxy,” added the player.

It has been suggested that the American club has offered £128m spread over five years to convince Beckham to move across the Atlantic.

“He wants to continue playing football and would like to sponsor this sport in the United States,” said a source close to the player.

“He also wants to live near the football academy that he opened in Los Angeles. He likes the lifestyle in California and believes it’s an ideal place for his family to live in.”

Inter were considering the idea of making an offer for Beckham to replace Luis Figo, who will leave the outfit to join Arabian side Al-Ittihad in July.

I also heared that Nedved was moving to Ittihad along w/ R9; I'm not sure about R9, cuz Milan r still very keen on bringing him in, but Nedved would be up for the switch, especially considering his age.

Real Madrid is playing in 4-2-4, ofensive team and yesterday played really good so the fans have nothing to complain or insult the staff. In the end, there are fans like that everywhere.

Valencia is a very good team. If they get no injuries until May, they'll fight for the title. But I agree with GULLIVER, Real with this young talents is the #1 favourite for the La Liga.

Real chief hits out at players, fans and Beckham

MADRID (Reuters) - Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon criticized the club's players and its fans and said David Beckham was going to Hollywood to be "half a film star" in a speech to university students on Tuesday.
His comments at the Villanueva University Center were recorded without the knowledge of Real Madrid and later aired on national radio.

"There is vanity, egoism and they all think they are superstars," Calderon told the students.

"Real Madrid players never pay for anything. You (students) have education and culture and that's something that they in general don't possess."

Calderon took a swipe at Beckham's decision to leave Real and sign a five-year deal worth $250 million for MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.

"He's going to Hollywood to be half a film star," he said. "Our technical staff were right not to extend his contract and that has been proved by the fact that no other technical staff in the world wanted him except Los Angeles."

Calderon also went on to accuse former club president Florentino Perez of deliberately sabotaging his attempt to sign AC Milan's Brazilian midfielder Kaka in the close season.

"Perez hasn't exactly given me any support," he said. "He spoke with (AC Milan president) Silvio Berlusconi so that he would renew Kaka's contract and Berlusconi pressured him to sign."

Calderon added: "If I am still president in June it is very likely that Kaka will be joining us."

Perez issued a denial of the accusations, saying he had been forced to break his recent silence because of the "magnitude of Calderon's lie."

"It is totally false that I spoke to Silvio Berlusconi about Kaka or any other player," the construction magnate said in a statement. "The whole suggestion is rather infantile."

The club's fans did not escape Calderon's ire with the Real chief saying that the Bernabeu faithful were too hard to please.

"It's a stadium where people go as if they were going to the theater. The people don't support the team, not like in Italy and England."

Real issued a statement on their Web site www.realmadrid.com saying that they were surprised and disappointed that Calderon's comments had been recorded and played on national radio.

"The president was only trying to help students understand the importance of management in a business as big as that of Real Madrid," the club said.

Calderon was named Real Madrid president last July after a narrow victory in a controversial election in which the postal votes of club members were not counted because of possible irregularities.

A judge is due to make a ruling on the validity of the votes at the end of January. If they are counted Calderon could find himself replaced as president by one of his rivals.

What Calderon is doing to Madrid is more than a sham .. But I think he has to play hard ball with the players, cuz they werent exactly playing football last season or the past 3 yrs. They were just a show.

Until Kaka is under contract and we are in Serie A, him leaving is not an issue, especially not if we don't get CL football next season, he was going to stay this season without it and he would stay next season if we don't make it.

Calderon is just trying to keep something that is dying fast alive.

He didn't just promise Kaka, he promised Cesc and Robben also, I can't see why he keeps insisting on this

Madrid fans already consider Kaka a done deal btw ohmy.gif

They keep bringing him up a lot.

He will remain with us, I dont doubt this .. I strongly believe he wont leave, but if we continue to play poorly, lack a strong squad and dont make it to the CL .. He will leave .. It is inevitable, that none of the above will ever happen in Silvio's era cool.gif Which is why I doubt it wink.gif

-------------------------

But Calderon certainly has a BIG mouth mad.gif He was the one that deemed Beckham surplus to requirments and still is taking a hit at him mad.gif
I think Beckham did the right thing; cuz though Madrid is a HUGE club, the managment dont know how to take care of a team, while Capallo is the hard line tactician, which makes it even better for him. rolleyes.gif

This action is clear for Kaka to see for himself how players are treaded at Madrid, plus how Shevchenko dropped from hero to zero, by just leaving Milan devil.gif

Villarreal pitch is not an easy match for any team.

Anyway, this La Liga is crazy. No top team wants to win 4/5 consecutive matches. They won 1 or 2, then just lost or draw. Competitive league.

I'm not saying Barcelona has no quality. Of course they've great players and are a good team. Just like Juventus last year. But they are always helped by the refs. No mather if it's in the CL or in La Liga.

Demolished Real? Cmon, that Real was a shame (ok, they're a shame atm, no team loses against Villarreal without Riquelme laugh.gif ). I remember too, the 2-0 in Bernabeu some months ago where Barcelona was outplayed by Capello's Madrid.

Posted by: dst Jan 28 2007, 10:08 PM

We're saying the same thing... There's no way one can deny what everyone sees, Barcelona are terribly helped by the refs. We can't help it... I'd give my right speaker (well what would you expect? biggrin.gif ) to see Sevilla crowned champions but it's not gonna happen!

But making it seem like they're only refs and no quality is when things get blind... I may hate Real as well but I admit they used to play a hell of a football some good 10 years ago!

The main problem of Sevilla... I don't think it's Barcelona. It's the fact they sometimes play in pink... laugh.gif

The barcelona game was pretty sad how they won. Iniesta and Saviola, damnnnnnnnn....... Ronaldinho was bleh. Its not fair to the fans that their team lost because of a bad call by the refs. The linesmen had a clear view of that and their should be no discussion about it. Free kick end of story. I wish they would search barca for a scandal and relegate them to the spanish segunda biggrin.gif, that would make my day.

Fckin' pathetic this team (Barcelona). With Ronaldinho and all those superstars, only with  refs.

I dont care about this team, I once defended R10 cause all of you seemed to be harsh on him and forgot what he can do on the field!

Speaking of Real I prefer 10 times Barça wink.gif

No seria A, so let's watch seria B - I mean La liga.

Valencia is back , I mean they are the only team in Spain i respect, yesterday they showed a nice football, Villa, Morientes and Vicente. Espacially Vicente - I respect this guy for his entusiazm

Real Madrid lost 1:0 to Levante at home rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

It seems ,in recent years, no matter how many players they buy it won't help them

Robinho (played 10min), Cannavaro, Cicinho, R.Carlos, Marcelo, Gago... half of the team injuried + Capello stupid lineup. rolleyes.gif

Salgado playing? It's worse than Costacurta. rolleyes.gif
Their fans were chanting "Capello Fuera!" in the end... (CAPELLO OUT!)

Anyway, let's go Valencia. They're gonna win La Liga this year. biggrin.gif

I thought young players were supposed to help the team, not cause them to loose against teams like Levante rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

@mishale, pathetic how a club like Madrid doesn't deliver

But please... Marcelo?? He hasn't even played yet... And Gago is a new signing... plus not really impressive so far.

They should be thankful Canna did not play! tongue.gif

Yours Barcelona just drew against Osasuna. They played like sh1t.

1º Barcelona 42
2º Sevilla 41
3º Valencia 39
4º R.Madrid 38

Capello won't be fired. After all Madrid is only 5 points away. rolleyes.gif

And in 2 weeks we'll have Valencia-Barcelona.

Real just keep getting pathetic, it's the same story every season. New coach, new players, new president, same ridiculous results. Their fans should be really annoyed.
