Porto risks to be banned from european football after the scandal in which they were involved in Portugal. The eufa will take a decision the 04/06.

I highly doubt anything will happen to them. Just like nothing happened to us, though they're miles away from our level.

The funny thing in this was that it was not the Portuguese FA that report the scandal to UEFA but Benfica... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I agree they'll probably be in the CL next year, if not they can always set us as an example ... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Benfica?! I thought the uefa heard about it through the scandal in the Portuguese league! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Does this means if no one reported them uefa wouldn't have taken action, wait a second who reported us and the zebras to the uefa then, because to the Lega Calcio there's no doubt in my mind?!

I don't think we have much to do with Calciopoli .. It's more of a a If I go down, I'm taking you all with me attitude. So when Moggi had the fingers pointed at him, he just took everyone down with him. And who reported Moggi; I guess he just dug a little too deep (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

It's a totally different situation.

The Portuguese FA did nothing. Only Benfica as they're basically the driving force against Porto's mob did reported them to UEFA.

After that UEFA asked the Portuguese FA for explanation and they had to send'em information about it.

But I doubt anything will happen. Next Wednesday we'll see the decision.

It's not the same. Back then, UEFA had no authority on the matter, they could not have left Milan out of the CL as the Italian sporting justice decided to leave us in 4th place. But now there's a rule that has been passed and UEFA can make their own investigations in these matters so if they find Porto guilty of fixing matches then who knows?...

Altidore may be loaned out to another Liga club for the first year, or so the last I heard goes. They're saying Huelva, I think. He really is rather good.

And in other MLS news... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) DC United WON A GAME. They've been horrible this season (they're in last place) but things are finally picking up. The Argie got sent off and then late in the game Namoff got sent off and then they got a really nice goal in injury time to win.

QUOTE
The UEFA Appeals Body met today to hear the appeal filed by FC Porto against the decision taken by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on Wednesday 4 June, in which the Portuguese club were not admitted to the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League. The Appeals Body decided, in the light of new evidence submitted in relation to domestic Portuguese appeals procedures, to refer the matter back to the Control and Disciplinary Body for reassessment.

To be reassessed
Having listened to representatives of Porto, the Portuguese Football Federation, SL Benfica and Vitória SC, as well as UEFA, the Appeals Body decided to annul the challenged decision. The Control and Disciplinary Body will meet next week to take a decision on Porto's admission to the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League. The date of the meeting will be communicated in due course.

It seems that Porto is going to play in CL next season!

Like I predicted, they're in. Football nowadays is all about corruption.

(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) DC seem to have gotten over their 'we suck' stage. It's DC 3 - 0 NY at the half. It isn't quite a monsoon like DC's last home game but the rain's coming down fairly steadily.

EDIT: FT score was DC 4 - 1 NY. Nice to see the local team back to playing well. Luciano Emilio (one of DC's Brazilians) scored 3 of the 4 goals.
