No Balo for this game, seriously don't know where the goals are going to come from, anyone know who could be back for this?
Any chance for Monto and SES to be back?
Apparently Balo is banned for 3 games. Just great! Exactly what we needed. He'll miss the Juve game as well.

Defenders: Abate, Constant, Mexes, Iotti, Zaccardo, Zapata.
Midfielders: Birsa, Cristante, Emanuelson, De Jong, Muntari, Nocerino, Piccinocchi, Poli.

Tough one.
I think I would go with:
Abate---Mexes---Zapata---Constant ---Poli-------De Jong----Emanuelson-- --------------Birsa------------------- ------Matri--------------Niang
I could think of a 4-5-1 or a million other nice looking formations. But we know the coach plays 4-3-1-2 so...

That's just tragic Ideally, while keeping the 4-3-1-2 Abate--Mexes--Zapata--Urby Poli--De Jong--Nocerino Birsa--Matri--Robinho We all know it's a 4-3-3 so let's stop with the ridiculous fake-out of Birsa supposedly starting in the AM position and then immediately moving wide.

We'll see. I suspect you will see just how tragic Nocerino is when you see him start. He has been benched by Muntari for a reason.

Benched by Muntari for a reason???? Allegri has benched everyone who has been in contention for that midfield just to play Muntari FFS!!! Did you actually watch him against Napoli? Liability doesn't even begin to explain the performance he had. Every time he touched the ball he lost it, either through a bad pass, bad shot or getting shoved off of it ridiculously easily considering his size and physical presence. Nocerino was okay against Celtic, he was okay when he came on against Napoli, something that Muntari wasn't able to do all game and we were never really under pressure in midfield against Napoli. He's just simply bad, and continuing to try to excuse his performances is as bad as excusing Allegri picking him. Nocerino is simply better than him, even on his worst day I'd pick him over Muntari's lazy @ss @ zed, we've lost Balo, Pazzo and SES, undoubtedly our 3 best and most dangerous players in attack. Very few teams would be able to field a stellar attacking line after losing 3 of their starting strikers. Yet we can still put out Matri and Robinho.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Sep 24 2013, 04:31 PM) Not sure why our club insists with this for the most part. It's an awful, stone age, formation. Just because the coach does not know how to implement it does not make it an ineffective or bad system. And it's not like we've actually used it aside from 2 games so far. We've been playing terrible using a 4-3-3 formation.

To be honest 4-3-3 never suited us, specially with kpb playing. Now that we've got kaka' and saponara for the future we need to implement this formation, and if Allegri uses the right player's it could allow us to play some good football. Abate-Mexes-Zapata- De Sciglio De Jong Poli Montolivo Kaka' Balotelli- El Shaarawy In my opinion it's a better line up and a better fit than what we used last year. Everyone would be closer together and would increase the creativity within the team, and it would help Shaarawy with scoring more goals, because he is a good finisher and was wasted at the wing. De Jong Muntari Montolivo Boateng Balotelli El Shaarawy

Ah, a perfectly fine formation, nuh. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But you know it as well as I do that one injury and it is wrecked. We are back to playing ugly football. In fact, if I were a betting man, I'd go far as to wager that we may never even get around to fielding this formation even if we wanted, whether due to the coach or more probably due to injuries. As good as it looks, just imagine Muntari in between here instead of the other creative players. All attacks would come down the instance he touches the ball. Try Mr. Mediocreson in there, and we'll be playing for a draw. This is what we should be playing, but there are no backups if two of these players fall down, save for Saponara.
