glad to see us finally making some noise in the transfer market.

i still want to hear more about fabregas though. i've wanted him to join milan for a long time but always considered him untouchable. it now appears no one is untouchable at arsenal.

Gila was a scapegoat, nothing more. Alot of the criticism about him is unjust. Like the myth that he never scored important goals, despite the fact that about 90% of them could be considered important.

Gilardino didn't work in the Milan system. The fact is he didn't produce because he wasn't an adequate replacement to fill the shoes of Scheva and everyone criticises him. We had a strikeforce of box strikers with nobody that could pass them the ball. On the other hand he didn't produce in champions league which really separates a world player from a regular player.

I don't get how Milan don't get the simple fact that Ancelottis tactics were dependent on a solid #9 forward. I said Torres and Benzema look at them now.

I pretty much agree with everything except for the bolded part.

i strongly disagree with the yard stick u're using to measure class, let me remind u that wayne rooney had a champions league goal drought for almost 2yrs, also didn't get international goals for about 3yrs too, ibrahimovic hasn't quite stepped up on the biggest UCL stage either yet they're regarded a classy, gila only needed more chance period.

no disrespeck to huntelaar but buying him now is ALMOST like arriving at the same spot we were at 2 yrs ago with gila

yep, it seems arsenal will let any player go for good prices, i love their business style
adebayor $7m- £25m
toure£100k- £16m
fabregas£400k- today about £30m

i don't exactly fancy spending so much on 1player, we could get hernanes+ a good LB with some change to spare with that kinda money

When they pay off their debt, they will be a scary club to compete with. Right now thats all that is holding them back and yet they can still compete imagine when they can actually spend their profits.

In regards to the deal regarding Silvestri, Its reported it could be done as early as monday as silvestri will fly to milan for final talks.

There are two options though. We give oddo+cash(4m) or we buy him straight out 8m. I personally think Oddo will not be transfered and we will buy him straight out but I could be wrong. Its all speculation at this point. But what is good news is that the smoke screens (bale&vargas) have already been placed and comments from both have been heard as well, which usually means the signing is close.

We'll see on monday. However, I must stress for all to remember anything can happen (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

that'd be great(its good to finally see quality players arrive), on the other hand it seems we're all hooked on the 'buying players for the future thingy' so far i'm not so convinced we've got a title winning squad YET.

any news on riquelme, i understand we were briefly linked with him after the boca game(audi cup) i think what we're missing now is that maestro that can bring others into the game, so far ronnie ain't it as he sometimes can barely get himself in the game, any thoughts????

He would be priced very good for us and he is a worldclass player but unfortunately. He is over 30 and would take a non eu spot.

yes, his price'll be good, i don't mind his age, its not like i want him playing for us till he's 38, i'd prefer we get an experienced&serious 30yrs olg guy and join the league of serious contenders for titles, rather than going for an overpriced brazilian LB to come take up that precious non EU spot.
we need that scudetto now now now

I agree with you man, but silvio doesn't. He prefers em young, if you know what I mean (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
