Stam was one of a kind defender and I don't think Gallas can actually replace him, but he comes close. At least he doesn't get injured as often. But I still think we should consider some other options as well... Daniel Van Buyten could be the perfect signing. While he is not as versetile as Stam, he is one of the only defenders that is very tall and very powerfull. Rui Costa was the dream sub for Kaka and now he is gone... Here are my candidates for his replacment: Kim KallstromLincolnShevchenko is almost certainly a Chelsea player now so, we have to think of someone... My candidates: Ruud Van Nistelrooy Yes, you heard me right. He is going to waste in MU and he could be a solid "replacment" for Sheva. Just take a look at his goalscorng record: http://www.rvn10.com/revamp/information_statistics.phpEto'o As much as I hate to say it, Eto'o could be a solid option due to lack of quality strikers. He is fast and can dribble past defenders, something Sheva was doing for Milan. Fernando Torres Ok, Torres is godlike when it comes to technique and speed. There is no doubt about that, but he is not quite as lethal of a striker as Sheva was and that's my only concern. But he is only 22 and is only getting better and better. Your thoughts on these players? Any suggestions?

[quote=pKillerMax,May 25 2006, 06:20 PM] Daniel Van Buyten could be the perfect signing. While he is not as versetile as Stam, he is one of the only defenders that is very tall and very powerfull. If you are looking for a tall powerfull defender I recommend Robert Huth from Chelsea. Van Buyten is a good goal scorer and air battler, but his tackling and all other defensive skills are very doubtfull in my opinion. Ruud Van Nistelrooy Yes, you heard me right. He is going to waste in MU and he could be a solid "replacment" for Sheva. Just take a look at his goalscorng record: http://www.rvn10.com/revamp/information_statistics.phpI think Ruud belongs to the past, and his manners are way to bad for a Milan player. I mean I really used to like Inzaghis character these years, but a duo of Ruud and Pippo would be very surely the most disliked European striker pair! Why dont you mention Luca Toni? Do you think he will be a Viola forever? No,...Milan, Juve or...Inter are his future (ehem, maybe Real). And he would be perfect. Otherways maybe Drogba, Klose or a new WC star (Podolski,...) If you seek for a player of defensive skills, good pass and dangerous from freekicks and corners you dont have to search in the Bundesliga. Look for Sienas Igor Tudor, he is that kind off player (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

To me Gallas is better than Stam especially in the flanks...We do still need one more defender though so my choice would be Oddo for the right so that Gallas would play as a CB...Rui Costa was right to leave cause he's too good a player to just warm the bench and I really hope he keeps no hard feelings for not being used.I have only watched Kallstrom, Lincoln rarely and I wan't impressed by their performances (still not bad, especially as substitutes...) but I'm not sure how they've developed!I'd choose Sneijder though... Ruud to me is not good enough for Serie A but Eto'o, Torres are younger players and would be worth to be given a chance...I'd still pick Villa over them though... QUOTE (GULLIVER @ May 25 2006, 10:23 PM) Toni is an another Adriano and Vieri type of player. We don't need him. And if he leaves from Florence i think he'll go to Inter (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I think Adriano is a great player...You'll see that in two weeks and when (hopefully for him, and/or us (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) will leave that Merde Bog that's called Inter...

Van Buyten is an awesome defender, especially when it comes to air battles, but he'll probably transfer to Bayern Munich. If you want a centre back who's tackling abilitys are awesome, you'll find him at the Hamburger SV as well, Khalid Boulahrouz. He's just 24 and feared by all strikers who gave him the nickname "The cannibal", which he really deserves. Can't say that much about Kallström, never saw him actually play, but Lincoln is far away from being good enough for Milan... For the attack, I can only repeat myself, Lukas Podolski. Except for Rooney you won't find a more talented young striker in Europe. He'd also be a perfect addition for Gila or Pippo cause he often falls back to the midfield to get the ball, a bit similar to Raul. He'd be the best, though it's almost sure he'll go for Bayern Munich...

(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) No, but seriously... Isn't Toni too similar to Gila? I mean we'll see how they'll do when the pair of them play together in the WC... Gila and Toni are both very lethal in the box, but out of the box they are not even close to what Sheva is able to do. A striker without those atributes can't replace Sheva. The only people who I can think of that can actually do that are Torres and Eto'o. I'd take Torres over Eto'o though. Torress will shine in this world cup, I'm telling you. He can't replace Sheva...

Gourcuff to replace Rui Costa is a good choice - Press says he's the future 'zidane'. He's doing a very good european championship with France Espoir. He's just 19 years old. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/FootballFicheJoueur20231.htmlhe's a great hope ... PS: sorry for my poor english

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ May 26 2006, 06:16 AM) I personally dont think, we will buy any strikers. Carlo will stick with inzaghi and gilardino for as long as he can. He will improve the defence first, which is most important. Then maybe he will consider buying a striker. Reyes would be a nice buy i personally think, torres. Adriano is good, but i think he'd be a burden to milan. Now that Silvio is back don't worry...He'll find a great attacker just as he did when asked to replace MVB,Weah (Well not Silvio alone, but he gives me confidence (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

We need new offensive and defensive players. But he will wait for the WC to see all the players in real action. Someone will merge out, maybe it wont be Van Nistelrooy, Drogba, Torres, Adriano or even Podolski. I would not be suprised if our scouts discover a new talent or someone from the "background" shines on the WC. Really, there are so many good players, it comes just to small details.
