QUOTE (Danny @ Jan 7 2020, 09:42 PM) Unfortunately, if their example means anything, Milan won't be a force again near enough till close to the end of our lifetimes. Nah. Inter were in the same boat as us till last season. They were utterly embarrassing, yet in a couple of years they managed to get back on their feet. I think first of all we need a new owner. Elliot has the funds but doesn't have the marketing channels. And as FFP says, you can't spend more than you earn. Inter's Chinese campaign has done wonders. I posted in here some time ago how much their finances have improved since the Suning took over. Especially their commercial revenues, which have increased from 39M in 2015 to 145M in 2019! We need a good strategy, planning, execution. Otherwise, nothing will change. I hope these Arnault rumours are true. He's exactly what we need.

QUOTE (Danny @ Jan 8 2020, 05:32 PM) Funny, you didn't disagree with me last time when I pointed out Inter were never in the same boat as us. I think you remember wrong. QUOTE (X-Offender @ Dec 16 2019, 11:49 AM) Danny is right. Inter have found their footing. Financially they're very stable, have increased profits substantially in the last couple of years, and can even permit to spend more than 100M for only two players (Lukaku and Barella), including high wages.
Not to mention they have a very capable and experienced coach who has actually won something in his career.
In Italy only Juve can claim better. I never said Inter haven't been shite, just that they have managed to get themselves back up, which is exactly what I said in the previous post.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jan 9 2020, 10:58 PM) Oh god, we have just loaned Caldara to Atalanta for 18 months + right of purchase for 15 million. 18 months! And we're going to get Kjaer instead, a 30 year old dud who's warmed the bench so far at Atalanta after his exciting adventure in the Turkish league.
I swear, Maldini and Boban are proving to be an absolute disaster. These guys have no idea what they're doing anymore.
Did you guys read about the Politano news? We might end up spending 25 fucking million on this Inter bench warmer! Finally some clubs (Spurs, Aston Villa, West Ham) are willing to give us around 30M for Piatek and we're going to spend them on Politano???
H-E-L-P!!! I understand your point. But, Caldara was always injured for us, I don't feel that much egret. It's a shame because the guy is perhaps good, but we can't wait too long. It's true that the deal is somewhat surprising, given that we won't get the money now. Kjaer will be okay as a backup. I agree, I don't want Politano. I hope we manage to sell Piatek. At this point, everything is in such a mess, I don't what can be done.

I agree, I don't want Politano. I hope we manage to sell Piatek. At this point, everything is in such a mess, I don't what can be done. Someone made a very interesting analogy about the Caldara situatuon. I buy a great sports car, one of the best of 2018. I pay a lot for it. As I'm driving it home I make an accident and the car gets severly damaged. I take it to the mechanic and he says it will take a while to get it fixed, so I wait. As it's about to get fixed, the repair shop's wall collapses on the car, but I want to get it fixed again. I keep paying the mechanic. The car now is almost ready, but an enemy asks me to loan it to him for 18 months so he can value it. If he deems the car is not worth it after the 18 months, he will give it back to me, otherwise if he thinks the car is fine he will pay me half of what I paid when I bought it. In the meanwhile, so I don't remain without a car, he gives me his used 1998 Fiat Panda. I'm so happy that I will probably pay him even half the cost of the fuel. QUOTE (Danny @ Jan 10 2020, 02:11 PM) Here we go again, blaming Piatek. F*cking Ibra came along and looks even worse.
I give up. Again. Dude, Piatek may end up scoring a ton of goals for his next team, but as William said, he can never succeed with us. For 30M it would be foolish not to sell him.
