It's not a big info but I just heard on a spanish radio, a daily soccer programme:
-Milan is interested in Julio Baptista.

It's Cadena SER, a Madrid station. Usually related and strongly linked with Real Madrid.

It's on their webbie too: http://www.cadenaser.com/programas.html?anchor=serproell

We'll see on the next hours if this is true or not.

He can play in a lot of positions. I always liked him. Can play the second-striker/striker/ofensive-midfielder/center-midfielder, is strong, tall, and I think he doesn't need a non-EU spot* (spanish passport? someone confirm please*).

*He was 3 seasons in Spain. It's 4 = passport isn't it? If it is... he needs non-EU spot. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Baptista frequently cited his desire to remain in Spain at least through 2005 in order to qualify for a European passport which would provide him great flexibility in moving about the continent.
From his Wikipedia page.

I'm not keen on him myself, had a poor season at Arsenal. I didn't think he was very good in Madrid either, I'm not so sure about him. He WAS one of my favourite players while at Sevilla, hopefully if he were to join, he'd return to that kind of form.

Personally I hope he takes up 5 non-EU spots.. that will keep him away for sure!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

i would take him

he is a big midfielder who can score and defend really well.

it's a well known fact that brazilians don't do as well in english football as they do elsewhere, so i don't fault him for having a bad season with arsenal.

and ronaldo was having a bad year with real until he came to milan and showed his old form again.

He had a bad season with Real as well.

Please don't sign that guy. He had one good game with Arsenal not more

he played a great match last night against Argentina.

not coz he scored an amazing goal but made some good runs and kept the ball very good

if he were to come he won't come cheap, his price will be around 20m and thats why I woulnd't want him coz this will mean the end of transfer market.

I wouldn't pay more than E5m for him... I know that's not enough to buy a player nowadays... but I don't want to sign him; only if he was put up for sale I'd bid that much.

I can't believe it that half the people that posted in this thread like him! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I always thought he sucks...

He had a good game last night ... But a Milan quality player ?! I think not ..

He is good for Sevilla and those kind of teams, maybe merda .. But definitely not Madrid or Milan. He doesn't have the quality to preform on this stage.

Bottom line, I don't want him in Milan.

His ability to play at various positions is the best about him,...and the strenght - two components our attack really lacks,..

I would be mocked at work if we signed him. My coworker friend who's an Arsenal fan refers to him as 'Cr@ptista'.
