Paolo Maldini - Quality & Integrity
Do you think Maldini can be compared to the best ever players to play the sport on the basis of His consistency? (24 years as a starter in one of the biggest teams in Europe)
Yes, He's up there [ 31 ] ** [96.88%]
I understand why some people would say that but I don't agree [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]
No way [ 1 ] ** [3.12%]
The Ultras that booed Maldini at the last game claim that He prolonged His retirement at the expense of the team. Do you think that's true?
No. We'd be in a much worse situation if it was not for His help [ 24 ] ** [75.00%]
Ancelotti was forced to play Him because of His status when others could have done better [ 8 ] ** [25.00%]
What should happen to the ultras who booed Maldini?
They should be killed with hammers [ 6 ] ** [21.43%]
They should be killed with bazookas [ 8 ] ** [28.57%]
They should be killed with sliding tackles [ 14 ] ** [50.00%]

About the youth point on the first page

We all know that Ancelotti was averse to youth, but not playing young players is unfortunately a very real and serious problem in Italy. Lots of the big teams with promising players do not play youngsters for right reasons as well as wrong ones.

Besides its possible that the Primavera wasnt that great anyway. We probably didnt have many outstanding players.

Your reply surprises me.

There were no better options really. Though I think that the question missed a third answer possibility, one in the middle.

Why (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

You honestly belive Ancelotti was forced to play him? I did not expect 8 votes for that answer.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you meant the opposite. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Then I take back my last reply.

It's true Ancelotti was forced to play him, not because of his status but rather because he didn't have better options. I think Maldini should have retired after Athens. His last two years at Milan were a complete waste.

From a personal viewpoint of Maldini yes. But we really needed him.

I agree with X, its not that ancelotti was forced to play him; its just we had no one better.

Even when he hit 35+ he was still one of our better defenders.
