..odd thread.
Okay, I'll start - Zapata, Santacroce and Montolivo (I've tried to stay in realistic frames, that's why there's no Buffon or Ramos)

Yeah, interesting thread!
Chiellini (though it may seem easier to get Sergio Ramos)
Montolivo

Dream signings: Chiellini, Torres, Buffon
Realistically we will probably get Emerson's 2nd cousin, Inzaghi's Nephew and Abbiati's father in law just to make them feel secure...

I think it's about time we took nepotism to the next level.

so I'll keep it realistic!
Ok maybe Puyol if Barça has a poor season which more than probable!
Keep it realistic,Signing Chiellini is more possible than signing Barcelona's captain!

The fish doll would pick you, Kurt, if you promised to wear one of these:

@kurt, I'm not sure I want to enter any negotiations with MoN over you. Thank you, drive through.

Exactly what he said!!

I'd focus on these three... mainly defensive options because our attack is well covered in my eyes... I would certainly not suggest any midfielders.
Chiellini
Gabriel Paletta (unusual choice, but one I've been thinking about..)
Fabio Grosso (I'm a fan of him, and I'll say that proudly!)
Paletta is 6'3" and is a very powerful aerial presence. He plays for Boca Juniors.

EU spot is closed right? And he's Argentine
And the other two don't look like accepting second choice positions.

He's played in Europe before, so I'm assuming he has that worked out. He played in the Premier League... I personally thought he would be a player better suited for the Serie A. While I have my issues with Argentina and their national team (as well as the players who play in Inter), I'm not going to discriminate. Two of my picks are Italian, however, as I feel Italian defenders even now are far better than any other in the world.
Hey what can I say... our defenders are getting older, including Maldini who is in his last year (I honor him, but his time to retirement is coming like with Costacurta and Cafu).
I think Chiellini and Grosso would find themselves having first team spots.
Posted by: Jack Sparrow Sep 5 2008, 09:22 AM
Chiellini for sure. But Grosso?

Puyol wanted to leave last year, he's sick of the circus Barcelona became and already said that he'll only leave for Milan! Chiellini? there's exactly no chance to see him on day in Milan's shirt! But we'll probably get none of them so ...

He said that?
That's rather nice of him. I've never been too much of a fan of Puyol, keeping in mind my obsession with defenders, but it's good to hear words like these. I'd actually take them both, if given a chance. Chiellini in particular. Maybe we can lure him with a very hefty paycheck, the guy admires Paolo and would love the chance of playing with the icon.
But we'll need to show $$$. Lots of it. As in Nesta's salary, or roundabout.
Otherwise no chance. More so after Paolo retires.
