QUOTE (X-Offender @ Apr 29 2021, 03:44 PM) *
Inter have never been winter champions. In the last 9 years since Juve's won the title only Napoli have been winter champions twice.

Hmm, then the person I read that from was exaggerating them doing well and ending up in 4th, it was some Inter fan. This was when there were 3 CL spots

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Apr 29 2021, 03:44 PM) *
I read that we might give him a one year renewal and a 30M release clause in case we don't qualify for the CL, which is nuts. Who's gonna pay 30M for a GK who's gonna be free the next year?

What baffles me is that I keep reading Juve have a deal with Raiola. Now, he's asking us 10M per season, so I assume Raiola has also asked Juve 10M per season. But Juve are in very muddy waters right now financially, so no way they're gonna give that much money to a GK, unless they're stupid. I mean, nobody even earns that much at Juve except for Ronaldo. Which makes me wonder if Raiola is just bluffing to get as much money from us as possible.

In other news, apparently we've reached an agreement with Mirante on a free. He's gonna replace Tatarusanu.

Honestly, I think this is all a pressure game from Raiola because we won't budge from the7m offer we made, which is more than enough for a GK. He is not even worth that much imo. The only players worth that kind of money are game changers, and Donna has saved us a couple of times, but he's also cost us. A GK is replaceable

The only reason I'm saying that we should give him whatever he wants and do a long term deal is because we can get great money for him, whether this summer or the next one. Losing him for free is simply not an option imo

Agreed. Losing him for free would undermine everything we stand for nowadays.

But loosing Donna for free is a possibility we have to consider as fans. He does hold value, but Milan won't be able to afford that if there is no CL. Due to the covid situation, the clubs that would have taken him for free and paid the 10M salary are few. Had this been any other summer, Donna would be spoiled for options.

Think the kid still wants to stay at Milan, just that he wants more exposure and if Milan don't make it to CL then the possibility of him leaving is much higher.

What we could-have and should-have done is irrelevant. Where we are today is the pickle.

Honestly do not believe that for a second. If he were as loyal as he tries to paint himself to be, he would not be pulling this sh!t on the club, especially now when the financial situation is so dire. People like to blame Raiola, but Raiola acts at the behest of his client, nothing more, nothing less. Look at the Ibra situation. Done and dusted quickly.

Donna wants more money, simple as that

But losing him on a free imo would be catastrophic to our long terms plans. Is it worse paying him 8-9m for a season or 2 and then selling him for huge profit, or lose him now for free when he is potentially worth around 80m?

I think it would be utter stupidity to not do a deal with him at this point. It will cost us more in the long-term

Same goes for Hakan. He wants 5m if I am not mistaken, meet him halfway and then sell if we can't afford it long-term. We criticise Hakan a lot, but he has stats similar to Bruno at United who everyone fawns all over.

Hakan for sure is worth over 35m. Why lose out on that over 1m or so in salary.

Honestly, the contract situations are one of the biggest let downs of this new management team. It should never have been left to fester as it has. We simply hold no leverage in these negotiations. And the same thing will happen next season with Kessie and Romagnoli if we allow things to drag on like we have with Hakan and Donna

Comparing Hakan to Bruno is... ludicrous.

Maybe losing Donna for free is a possibility, but then this is a complete failure of our management. When did that happen the last time? A WC talent or player leaving a top club for free?

They have very similar stats.

See this is my point. We rag on our players and raise up players from other clubs who are basically producing similar numbers

Anyway. Someone must be smiling down on us. Atalanta and Napoli drew today

Only drawback being Inter are officially Champions. Which is such a gut punch considering where we were just 2 months ago.

Basically similar stats? Han, I'm starting to get worried here. You were once the most rational member here, but this seasons you're stretching too far to prove some special points.

Hakan in Serie A: 29 appearances, 4 goals, 9 assists.
Bruno i EPL (a better league to start with): 33 appearances, 16 goals, 11 assists.

Hakan overall: 39 apps, 9 g, 11 assi.
Bruno overall: 52 apps, 26 g, 16 assi.

I think this discussion is over.

Yeah, sorry Han, but Bruno Fernandes is on a whole other level.

I think this week's results proved that this CL race is gonna carry on until the final week. All teams involved are inclined to lose points in any game.

Super League rebels could face two-year Champions League ban

The remaining four clubs -- Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan -- have so far stuck to their positions and could face the UEFA disciplinary process for, among other things, violating Article 51 of the statutes, which states that "No combinations or alliances between... clubs affiliated, directly or indirectly, to different UEFA Member Associations may be formed without the permission of UEFA.

Juventus game coming up in three days.

If Milan lose, all the slim hopes of a CL birth are gone, all aspiration of a decent summer transfer campaign are gone and gone are Donna and Cala on free transfers.

Juve beat Milan 3-1 at San Siro, dominated Milan actually. So I don't think Milan stands a chance this time as well, especially with all that weight sitting on the clubs shoulders.

1. They didn't dominate us.
2. We had half the starting line-up out injured.
3. Juve are, dare I say, even worse than us right now.

Saying we don't stand a chance is speaking without context. I say it's a 50-50 game and we'll play our chances.
