I was reading a book the other day and there was one quote that really changed my mood and gave me comfort. It's like it all clicked. Why I love Milan, what the management and the players have been saying all along. It's natural for every team to go through a bad period once in a long while and that's what's happening to Milan right now... Just a bad, bitter period.... Of course we know this probably could have been avoided with some smart moves in the transfer market and showing some players the door... And then I think it through again and I think about what makes Milan so special... What gives us a soul... What gives us that extra bit of something that we always brag about.
I remember dst mentioning something about Milan being sentimental... I think there is a very important point here... Being "sentimental" has given us the edge over the years... We laugh at Inter in their faces because of this... We feel the superiority with a passion... Even at these not-so-good times, we can still hold our heads high because we represent the Red & Black and they represent us.
Milan don't deal with their problems like anyone else, as we are more than just a football club with a squad and an owner. Milan is a foundation, a philosophy.
And what was that quote that was so fundamental and how does it relate to all of this?
Here is the quote:
Success-minded people don't think negatively when negative things start happening all around them. They think: "This is the time when success is right around the corner, and whatever happens, I will get it."
And that reminds me... If I didn't believe in that, then I might as well kill myself next time I go through a difficult period in my life... We are down now and everybody kicks you when you are down... If you are weak and shallow, you will give in... Like Portugal did from the begining (even though he always feels the Rossoneri fire in him), but if you are strong, you will never let go and fight until the end...
There is a lot of food for thought in this topic and you can take what you want and leave.
I hope you understand what the fundamental point is here... It's beyond the transfer market and Berlusconi's money...

QUOTE (mishie @ Nov 25 2006, 06:48 PM) your the sort of people he's aiming at. by saying "really can't see what your trying to say here" your proving his point that some people can never see the upside. What's that "sort of people" ?? I commented on what I've seen from Milan so far... which is will and inadequacy... I do believe that Milan will do better than this cause I know the potential our players possess but if you want me to believe in the scudetto then sorry I can't... If you do then it's cause of mental disease, not optimism!! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

QUOTE (mishie @ Nov 25 2006, 11:56 PM) it's the the way of the world i'm afraid if theres a problem throw money at it,apportion blame never take responsability but there is a way, a philosophy to follow lets hope sometimes we can achieve it (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) go f@ck yourself mishie... what makes you think you're so special?? You're superior right and I'm just one of those inside the mass that simply don't 'get it'... Like I had to wait from your likes to teach me what Milan is... Cut the cr@p now would you?? QUOTE (Diavolo @ Nov 26 2006, 01:54 AM) Dst it's not believing in this years scudetto, it's believing in Milan future. You're right I don't believe in Milan's future... thus the 4500+ posts... I just love to post (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
