What the hell? Kevin Nolan had an oustandng season and could've gone to some top half teams and goes to West Ham!? Brilliant signing.

It's down to big Sam, I think they are really close, like father-son close almost. Maybe a decent wage too?

I do, and always have rated him as a good mid-table Premiership player though.

Nolan must have loved it in the champioship then. but well he has shot himself by going to west ham.....seemingly a place where a lot of former newcastle footballers go... parker and boywer as example

Dyer and Solano too.

I imagine West Ham will come straight back if this signing is anything to go by.

He was very popular at Tyneside. It's the management again. They're on a major economy drive...wanting players cheap. Getting the equivalent of a Kevin Nolan type player from France or Africa is considerably cheaper...not to mention more investment worthy. Since these players won't mind moving on for a good transfer fee.

The Kevin Nolan disagreement happened similar to Pirlo. The length of the contract couldn't be agreed upon.

I still have no doubt Nolan wouldn't have gone there if it wasn't for Allardyce, that's the main reason. I doubt he completely loves it in the Championship. No doubt West Ham have put him on a decent salary to help too.

Anyway, seeing as the majority of this conversation is now on the upcoming season might as well create a new thread for it and sticky it, will close this one now.

New season's thread.
