It has become very obvious that come next season the majority of the squad as we've known it for the last few years will look very different come next season. We already know that the new management have struck a couple of deals already with most media outlets in accordance with each other that these are basically done and are only pending the transfer window opening before they're official.

So basically my questions are:

Who are the players that you think should leave/get sold this summer?
Who do you think will actually leave/get sold this summer?

Who are the players you want to see us buying?
Who are the players you think the club will actually buy?

What formation and line-up would you like to see next season?
What formation and line-up do you think we'll actually see next season?

This is mostly a thread to start up a little convo on here and to steer away from the current season which is thankfully coming to and end. And to mostly feel you guys out in terms of what expectations you have for the new Milan under the Chinese ownership

I only want to answer this one. I have an open mind about incoming - the standard of Rodriguez is the right direction but in terms of leaving, I honestly would get rid of the whole squad bar Donnarumma, Romagnoli, Abate and Jack. Bacca is a maybe, depending on who comes in and whether we can play to his strengths - on form and in the right system Bacca is world class. That's been lost this season.

But none of the rest are good enough. And it's simple as that.

Can't say what I think the club will actually do, but I think we should aim for a 21/22 players roster at max. No need to keep 28 players on the payroll when some of them barely see the pitch throughout the entire season.

Players that should leave: Honda, Ocampos, Mati, Gomez, Poli, Montolivo, Locatelli, Vangioni, Pasalic, Bacca (and MDS who seems to be a goner).

Players that we should buy: De Vrij, Rodriguez, Kessie, Fabregas, Keita, Aubameyang (or any top striker for that matter).

How we should be playing: 4-3-3

Donna
Abate - De Vrij - Romagnoli - Rodriguez
Fabregas - Kessie - Bonaventura
Suso - Aubameyang - Deulofeu

Bench:
GK (preferably someone with experience but not Storari)
Zapata
Paletta
Calabria
Antonelli
Sosa
Kucka
Bertolacci
Keita
Lapadula

So looking back on this one, we basically got rid of 90% of the surplus. If we have a look at Amancik's list:

Who are the players that you think should leave/get sold this summer?
1. Bacca
2. Lapadula
3. Honda
4. Zapata
5. Sosa
6. Matias Fernandez
7. Vangioni
8. Lucas Ocampos

Job done on the lot bar Zaps and that was one I didn't strictly agree with. We now have three marquee CBs and one solid squad one. On paper it's acceptable.

Who do you think will actually leave/get sold this summer?
1. Bacca
2. Honda
3. Zapata
4. De Sciglio

Right on three. But so many others left too.

Who are the players you want to see us buying?

1. Belotti
2. Sergio Aguero / Aubameyang
3. Berardi
4. Fabregas / Pastore / Reus / Verratti
5. Kessie
6. Musacchio / Thiago Silva
7. Rodriguez / Darmian

Three of 13. Or of 7 depending how one analyses it.

Who are the players you think the club will actually buy?

1. Morata
2. Kessie
3. Musacchio
4. Rodriguez

3 out of four. Very good rate there. But we bought many, many more.

What formation and line-up would you like to see next season?
4-2-3-1
1. Donnarumma
2. Calabria / Rodriguez
3. Thiago Silva / Musacchio
4. Romagnoli
5. De Sciglio
6. Kessie
7. Verratti / Fabregas / Locatelli
8. Bonaventura / Deulofeu
9. Pastore / Reus
10. Suso / Berardi
11. Belotti

Can't understand why you wanted MDS in this team. And also seems you didn't know Rodriguez is a LB.

We've ended up in an interesting place.

There is something in this squad, there is. I am liking the potential but it just hasn't clicked. That's six full matches in competition and it hasn't impressed for more than 20 minutes in any of them.

Montella has something to answer for and the players need to get up to speed.
As one point was made - the better a player is, the more quickly and efficiently he will acclimatise to his new team. If you bring in a bunch of modest players, they will take longer because they simply aren't as good and smart. But when you bring in the quality we have like Bonucci and Kessie, you want quicker results and really should get them.

Thankfully we have still won 6 of 6 - and that's a great start on paper.

But on the pitch it needs to be more convincing and it needs to do it against the good teams as well as 10 man Crotone.
