Meh, I feel like he never really wanted to be here, we were his last resort.

That's sad, for both him and us. Seperation is good. Higuaín project disappointment. His time with us is embarrassing compared to all his previous seasons. That's not without reason.

That being said, it's not like Higuain has left a huge gaping wound behind him, he's been missing in most games for a while now, probably since that Juve game, he hasn't been the same. I'd rather have a lesser player who is 100% motivated to play for our shirt than someone who's not happy to play for this club

Agreed. If it's not working out with a very expensive 31 year old, moving forward should the way to go.

It doesn't help he doesn't look belly fit either. Then you'll get old very fast.

So, I never watched him play. But, he is top scorer in Serie A behind CR. He certainly has immense potential. It is simply an exchange
The money we were going to pay on Higuain..we will pay on Piatek.

I prefer the move. Higuain is obviously not motivated and happy here.

Higuaín is struggling here at the age of 31, and is not belly fit, so age can matter a lot for him. It's not working out great, so better go for a 23 year old, much better long term, and could easily be better deal short term as well, looking at how we've been upfront lately.

I am not familair with the 23 year old as well, so I can't say if scouting has done well.

Not sure Milan should want to buy Higuaín for all that money anyways...

I disagree. I think 4-3-3 is the best solution for this team, but for it to work we need a right-footed left winger with more scoring qualities than creative ones like Suso. Hakan not only has been disappointing, but he's not even a winger to begin with.

How many good fits do Milan currently got for the wide forward positions then? Milan needs to buy for sure two quality wide forwards for it to work. Otherwise, I think Milan is better off playing with two real forwards.

Despite Castellijo his good goal, and Suso his well dribbling and making things happen, they are not what you need as wide forwards. Having then Higuaín as only real goalscorer. It is no wonder Milan rarely scores a goal.

Like you say, Hakan is not even a winger to begin with. Milan plays with wingers (or wide forwards) who are much better fit as a midfielder. With this current squad, I would not opt for 4-3-3 as there's a lack of real quality wingers. Or yes, exactly what you say: a goalscoring winger, instead of a creative Suso. Put more and real creativity and playmaking in the midfield, and have got more goalscoring powers on the wings, and then I can agree 4-3-3 makes for a good formation. Seems you wish for the same, but right now with the current squad it does not make 4-3-3 a good formation in my opinion. I much rather see both Cutrone and Higuaín on the pitch than only Higuaín with another midfielder put as winger.

Milan are loaning Muriel?

I hope that means Milan go by a two forward system, having Higuaín play alongside Muriel or Cutrone (rotating, or one as sub for the other, whatever works best).

This 4-3-3 has got no chance to succeed. Having only Cutrone and Higuaín as real striker options, and only wingers that are better options for more of a midfield role, is simply a hopeless case. Having the most creative player as the right wing forward, who barely knows how to finish, and a high profile striker playing on an island. It looks so inspiration less.

It was a so-so scudetto nevertheless. No real competition, team played bad for most of the games. We were lucky to have Zlatan in attack that made the difference, and Nesta-Silva in defense.

Just remember that we played with Flamini-Ambro-Gattuso in many games. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Oh my God, I yesterday had a same flashback thought about that midfield after watching SPAL.

It is amazing how Milan end up playing with such midfield. Three defensive midfielders who are mostly that, lol.

Milan should 'save' their season, and end 4th. Otherwise it would be a massive disappointment. Gattuso should be fired.

Nonetheless, I did like the duo sub. When I saw Calabria and Cutrone ready to sub in, it were the exact two I wanted to see subbed off. I thought a Cutrone Higuaín pairing would be what Milan needed, and it immediatly paid off. Even though Suso and Hakan lack effiency in their finishing, they were the right ones to stay on field to play on the sides.

I feel like Milan lacks some certain spirit, and needs changes. Beginnging of the season I liked their play more being leaning to tiki taka, but was still very vulnerable and therefore fawlthy. What I see now, is simply worse.

Most creativity (and general threat) came from Suso, but I feel like that's not enough. Before Cutrone subbed in, I felt like Higauín was playing on an island. I am sadly not surprised Higuaín having had a long dry spell at Milan.

Bakayoko made some errors. It are errors like these I hope Milan makes less, once they have better spirit and energy.

I am impresed with Petagna his strength and body play, what a beast!

Something I don't understand. Maybe it's because I've not been watching football so much these years anymore, but with the department of Ronaldo, why is Bale still playing on the right side? As originally Bale was Spurs MVP as left sided forward/winger.

Did he get used/adjusted well to the right side, that it sincerely has become his better side now? Like Arjen Robben style?

Yet Pirlo and Allegri managed to make it work at Juve.

Look, I'm not saying Pirlo was a saint, his own words in his book prove this. But the way the club handled his situation and then to let him go to a direct rival was stupidity at its finest

I find it puzzling how many players and managers fail horribly at Milan.

Pirlo, of course only later on, which how I remember to see it as a massive loss in motivation.

So what's the deal with that? How can lose a player like Pirlo so much motivation at Milan?

Allegri, I find more puzzling, but Ancelotti I remember also had many frustrations and therefore mostly focussed on winning the Champions League, as he didn't receive enough support or funding creating a squad that can win the Serie A also.

...

It's why I liked the Silva buy so much more than the Kalinic buy last Summer. Sadly, Silva has been a disappointment so far. Outside of Serie A he seems to do well. Is there still hope, much prospect to see in him?

I read often either loan out Cutrone or Silva. Well, obviously loan out Silva then, let him have a good better season elsewehre while Cutrone is just doing fine in the Milan team. I think that's obvious choice there?

Strangely enough, a friend asked me the same question yesterday.

Hey there man, it's been forever! Hope all is good.

Hiiiiiiiiiii!

Yeah, I am kinda viewing from Helipokter view Milan i guess, and then looking at everything I am like..... Bacca out, Kalinic in, for that money? Why? How?

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ May 12 2018, 12:02 PM) *
Wrong question. Bacca is detested here at MF (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

He's been that bad for Milan? I really don't know. Based on the very little I've seen I was so so with him, but I have such a so much worse feeling on Kalinic than on him.

I haven't seen Belotti play, but he sounds interesting. He is at an age where he can either start having a great career being an outstanding leading forward, or something less. I noticed somewhere X Offender saying or expecting he would become something good / best Itilain forward of the coming years or so.

ANYWHO, it SUCH kind of buy Milan needs to do. Whoever will be outstanding great for the coming years, I don't follow enough football to really know for sure, but my God. The rumours I am reading...

Mandzukic?

Kalinic for 20M a year ago... paying this Summer after one season loan.

What kind of deals are this?

Even those who don't like Bacca, why invest so much money to loan out Bacca and buy an old Kalinic for so much?

Where is the management?

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ May 12 2018, 12:04 PM) *
Oh and yeah, sure, Donna is young. But his posturing, behavior, greed and wage make him look like a veteran/established star, so sorry, I'm not gonna give him a free pass with the "he's still a raw diamond" excuse. Those excuses are reserved for players who behave and act according to their place and position.

Yeah, Donna most certainly asked for such treatment after all this. He puts more pressure on himself listening to Raiola, so it's hard for me to say what this will lead him to. Modesty is an art he's missing sadly.

I am afraid Romagnoli might be bought for a good sum of money by Juventus. Would be quite something, seeing Bonnuci and Romagnoli basicly swap teams within a year. Juventus getting the younger player for the future, and we the older one. Juventus definitly at the winning end then.

And how come Milan get in trouble with this fair play transfer stuff? What about PSG, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, et cetera. Aren't they over spending like ever every season? I don't follow what's going on here. How is Milan the only big club getting into trouble? Where lies the difference?

If Milan now feels forced accepting the money for their few crystals left, then it's finito..........

I don't really have much to say while I barely watch football nowadays, but I simply don't understand the decision to replace Bacca with Kalinic. Does anyone have an explanation for that?

I did see the cup final, and therefore also Donnarumma's mistakes. I do think Rossoneri7 has a point when it comes to his age. Manuel Neuer made quite a lot of silly mistakes during his first seasons, I remember well. I also wonder about what kind of effect the energy has Donnarumma has to deal with nowadays, since the whole saga. I would not be surprised if he better comes to bloom elsewhere since that has happened.

Good to know he'll be ready for Chelsea after recovering at Milan.

Oh, will he?
Recovering at Milan, usually is only temperary.

Great young player, but where is Milan heading with this management?

If he were insanely good, age wouldn't have mattered. We've got Hachim on the bench at 16, we've started Pato at 17 etc.

He was a good player with a lot of space to improve. I wrote a monster post about it even. We couldn't have afforded him the space to play, make mistakes and grow due to our current situation.

No, because Milan's other midfielders aren't prone to making mistakes. It's laughable how poor Milan's midfielders are, and yet prospects don't get to play. Insane.

So that means three years later Hachim will get sold as well. Surely whatever an other team will be offering is too much for Milan to refuse.

Galliani: "Benfica initially wanted to sign Cristante on loan, but he said no. He only wanted a permanent deal."
This is quote shocked me.

Looks like Van Ginkel is done, don't know how to feel about that considering he was basically shoved out the door by Mourinho after rejecting us twice.

Oh cool. Van Ginkel is quality. Can't blame him for having ambitions to succeed at Chelsea rather than getting loaned out.

Van Gaal /Manchester United seems desperate.

Didn't he have a 100 million budget? How much have they spent now?

Di Maria, Herrera, Shaw, Blind, Rojo... at least you can safely say if United keeps disappointed it's Van Gaal's doing, while the squad will look quite decent this season.

Excuse me?

42 games, 27 goals, what does that say? It says how much he has scored during one season, that's all. And that's how one can get overrated. If we go all-in on analyzing through stats, I was clearly right while he only did worse since then.

And where is Merkel these days anyway?

Merkel has been taking various trips in Europe. Letting him go didn't turn out to be a mistake so far, but with others like Darmian and Paloschi it did. Milan should have more patience with certain youth players. All of these three didn't look half bad when still at Milan, and two of them turned out good.

We've spent around 11 million euros + Merkel to get El Shaarawy, and you consider him Milan youth?

Merkel, now him you can consider Milan youth. Milan decided they rather have someone from Genoa's youth instead.

Torres at his best was 20x the player Balo is. He was debatably the world's best striker. Balo wasn't even the best striker in Serie A. And he's only going to be a fringe player at Liverpool.

tbh his career can go down the tubes as far as I am concerned. I do not like him.

I never agreed with that. Always thought he was overrated, even during his Liverpool years.

And now after years of showing poor form, Milan signs him on a two year loan as main striker.

I have never liked him. And I am liking where Milan is going with the day less.
