AC Milan - Milanfan.com _ Other _ Now that we are in the champions league, can we win it?

Posted by: gal_kenny Jul 25 2006, 08:56 PM

I think that we still have the qualities to win the champions league despite Sheva's exit. And may be Gilardino will be able to prove he's a great striker. Hope we can still win it. unsure.gif rolleyes.gif

Even though Barca, Real and Chelsea have undoubtedly gotten stronger, I think we still have a big chancd.

I always had a feeling that this would be our year I don't know why, even last year while we where in the semi's I had a feeling that we weren't going to win it, I don't know why but I have this strange feeling and now that we had to fight through some obstacles to play in the CL with the calciopoli thing my belif has grown even more.

I'm just going to cross my fingers

Chelsea, Real, Barça, Milan, Arsenal are the favourites IMO for next season.

Arsenal is picking up some good players, Milan "is back"... the others are def' those we knew since last season...

I predicted that Benfica was going to do a good CL last season... biggrin.gif

This season I predict that for the first time in football history, we're going to have 3 portuguese clubs in CL group stage (FC Porto, Sporting Lisbon, and Benfica that's still in the 3rd pre of the competion). rolleyes.gif

I'll not predict that Milan will win the scudetto 06/07... 'cause that's a fact, isn't it? cool.gif

We need to complete our squad first and do some of the changes we all want like reinforcing defence and a new striker.Without those changes I can't see us lifting the trophy. It can happen but not likely. At the moment Chelsea and Barca are stronger than we are.

and I'm sure that all your predictions will become real biggrin.gif .... we'll do the same that the Italian team did, when nobody believed in them and between the great scandal, they managed to become the world champions .... so to the rest of the favorites .... "be carefull Milan is here!!"

to everyone it SEEMS like real, chelsea, and barca got stronger, which they did, but milan didnt fall behind. we already had the great players needed to win the CL so we didnt need to be the best strikers, mids, and defenders like them. we just lost the ukranian kid. but besides that we have the same strength as those 3

We also lost Stam and Rui. Stam was an important player. Very reliable. Rui was great comming off the bench and Sheva, well... No need to say anything...

Rui has been replaced with a talented kid who has not yet been tested. Last season, if we lost kaka to injury, we had the great Rui to come off the bench and play his wonderful game. Seriously, Rui was a great sub! Now if Kaka gets injured, we have a 19 year old kid who has not yet been tested on the big stage... It's a bit risky if you ask me for now. I'm sure he'll be great in the future though.

Stam hasn't been replaced... We lost one of the best defenders in the world and have not replaced him as of yet. Favalli? you kidding? If we don't do something about this it will come back to us, take my word for it.

Sheva has been sold and still no replacement... Bash him all you want, but he was simply our best player. I definitely think Gila will become our new top scorer now, but we still need to replace Sheva! No doubt!

Yes Yes Yes .. at this moment u r reading my mind Favalli is a j/k as last season we got Vieri then Gila followed; I'm sure Milan will bring in a replacment to make us proud .. And our attack lacks fluidity, a Sheva like striker is needed if we want to compete in the CL.

I think that back to a 4-5-1 system isn´t bad at all, beeing realist, I think we must pick Crespo, he´s a proven Serie A and CL player... a good CB and a good DMF (Diarra, Mascherano), we have great potential with Pirlo playing as 10 and Kaká besides him.
