AC Milan chief told Ronaldo: Too late to try again
tribalfooball.com - August 27, 2006

Real Madrid urged AC Milan to make a new offer for Ronaldo yesterday, it has been revealed.

After rejecting their £10 million bid last week, Real invited Milan to try again with an improved offer, but transfers chief Ariedo Braida ruled out trying again, says Il Giornale.

Ronaldo sought answers from Real sports chief Predrag Mijatovic as why the deal fell over and was reportedly told that given the sale of Andriy Shevchenko, they expected a bigger offer in the region of £17 million from Milan.

The Brazilian, through intermediaries, informed Braida of Real's motives, but he replied to Ronaldo: "I'm sorry, but it's much too late to do anything.

"We won't go higher than what we have offered."

Look...in a way it's best we stood by our principles...it's one thing when a club invests in a player for his talent, but from what I hear, what Real was doing just amounts to arm-twisting...which is something Milan shouldn't give into...no matter how great the player...

I doubt if we would have made the initial offer, unless we had know an estimate of the price Real were looking for. I'm guessing the price shot up at the negotiation table and not at the tender bid....Real can go f@ck themselves...we are not THAT desperate...

Real don't need the money .. In fact they are willing to spend BIG on the likes of Kaka, Cisc, etc ..

They wanted Kaka and that is when Milan called it off .. I guess it's just a matter of 'we are at war' (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
