I agree with Theo, I can't see him ever being great, but he's at the right club to develop. Arsenal do a great job with youngsters.

Villa have a few young players that could eventually break into the first team.

Ashley Young, 21 (ST)
Gabriel Agbonlahor, 20 (ST)
Luke Moore, 21 (ST)
Gary Cahill, 21 (DF)
Liam Ridgewell, 22 (DF)

They've all been England-U21 regulars in recent years and have shows alot of promise in our first team over the last 2 seasons.

Craig Gardner, 20 (MF) Has also done a great job when he's been given the chance this season.

Yeah I've liked some that you've mentioned but apart from Young when you compare them to the likes of Lampard and Owen at their age they are no where near their standard.

I'm not saying we are going to be completely useless but at the same time I can't see us being a nation in the top 10.

Exactly, English football is in trouble. Nobody can see the next Lampard or Owen, and they're going to be 30 sooner than later.

Our 'Golden Generation' is getting older, and like Portugal and Spain, we have no trophies to show for it. But at least they still have great young talent.

When you compare the likes of Cristiano Ronalo and Fernando Torres to ewhat we have, it's no competition.

I know and Rooney is useless for England that's the only word for it bar Euro '04 to be fair.

Yeah, his record isn't too great for us.

We need some players that will get us goals regularly. Rooney isn't that player.

-Silvio has $12B.  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
-Agnelli/Elkann $2.3B.

-Moratti family » ? (Anyone...?)
In the Premier League:

-Manchester United = Malcolm Glazer $1.3B.
-Liverpool = $2B from G.Gillett + $5B from Tom Hicks.
-Aston Villa = $7.6B Randy Lerner
-Chelsea = Roman Abramovich $18.7B (probably half since... his divorce)
...

And the list will continue to grow.  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Seeing that list makes me feel like if we don't do something big in the next 5 years, we're destined never to win anything again. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

At least England have the little star on their logo. Portugal and Spain have 0, zero, niente world titles. Not even a final. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

You never know. In fact, you were/are the European Champions. At least have that title. Portugal can't say the same.

Portugal has continuity. They are a worthy team. I think we deserved the Euro they way we played but the European champions should at least make it to the World Cup finals... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Your team was there also and had a respectable display, making it the semis is a great feat. I'd rather be in your case... I've told you before that titles is not what matters to me the most! There are other things like losing a final in your home and applauding your opponent... that would never happen in Greece! What Greece did in 2004, I think the best team to set foot in Euro 2004 (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

Simply amazing

If Portugal did not have Ricardo in goal for Euro 2004 and have Baia or someone, I personally think they would have wiped the floor with everybody and won it comfortably.

He just makes too many silly mistakes.

Ricardo is a poor/bad keeper. But an amazing penalty-killer. Oh, and Scolari had a problem with Baia so he chose Ricardo to be the #1.

Yep, he's very good at penalties, and has a voodoo over England, whether it be at club level or international.

Scolari looks like a real idiot not playing Baia now.

I mean no offense to Greece, but they won the game on a bad error from Ricardo,

Take nothing away though, the Greeks have won it, we haven't. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
