QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Jul 29 2009, 11:07 PM) *
I think we should go out and sell kaladze, oddo, storari, borriello, and jankulovski, pirlo, kalac.

Get that 30-50 million and go buy a decent cm, decent wingback and a good foreward and a good goalie. Then buy a few sub young defenders like di lorenzo.

At this rate I would rather have less with quailty than more with no quality.

I think that whole New-Milan-Thing is getting in your head....
Pirlo was great today. He was far better than some others you didn't put on your sell list. but I don't mind to sell kaladze, because he was kind of terrible as usual and I hope than Leonardo won't let him play often.

another question. it was my first game today which a squard of leonardo....was it a typical formation of him today...i mean which jankulovski as a midfielder and ronaldinho+pato up front...
it looked somehow strange.

To answer the question, it was sort of a strange lineup.

The lineup v. Chelsea (when we actually played decently) was something like this:
Kalac
Zambrotta Nesta Silva Janku
Gattuso Pirlo Seedorf
Ronaldinho
Pippo Pato

Seedorf and Pippo both have knocks.

(And Fishdoll is very jealous indeed that you live in the city where DEMEL is.)

that formation looks way better than the one against bayern...
I saw seedorfs goal. it was quite nice. and ronaldinhos assist was great too. but it seems we still didn't impress...
i was wondering why Pippo didn't play today, because he normally is great against bayern. I love his goals against them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

@fishdoll: i like demel. the cakes in their display window look great. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
have you been to vienna with your nice owner (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The key in the Chelsea game was Seedorf, who played well. He really did look good, not even counting the goal. It really is too bad Pippo wasn't fielded -- but better to have him fit for the season than for a friendly.

Fishdoll has indeed been to Demel with his person! He is amused -- his person ordered the rum cake and got just a wee bit drunk from it.(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Jul 29 2009, 03:55 PM) *
Galliani needs necessary funds to buy top players, right? where does that come from? either our earnings or Silvio's pocket. screw the former as I don't even think it's sufficient to build a top squad with it. as for Silvio's pocket, I'm not saying it's empty, but maybe he can't spend it! they say as the PM of Italy he can't be seen pouring millions into Milan while in Italy the economic situation is so dire. maybe that's really why he's not investing? I said a lot that he didn't care anymore etc etc but even the most careless owner would do more for his club than Silvio is doing now. and when you think what he has done for this club in more than 20 years, you just can't accept he's become all of a sudden so indifferent towards it. so, right now I think Silvio wants his club to be the same old Milan, but he can't help it much. I don't know... I've prepared myself for bad days.

Great Post - Definitely worth giving it a thought.
Though if it was completely true - the question would still then be raised... 'why not sell then?'

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Jul 29 2009, 03:59 PM) *
Right now I believe the only reason we're like this is because we don't have a top squad! we haven't had a top squad since Calciopoli. it's nothing new.

So true - and yet so absolutely depressing when you think of the reality of the situation
As a Milan fan you can't help but accept the fact that us winning the CL in 07 was as close to a miracle as it gets.

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Jul 29 2009, 04:25 PM) *
OMG! this is beyond ridiculous.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Just wait till our next game against Boca - If we loose what would we say then?!

QUOTE (han2503 @ Jul 29 2009, 04:40 PM) *
I keep thinking. the more we los the better, hopefully the eyes of the management will open and see what shambles they have turned Milan to.

+100 - I mean we have to get something good from this.
I've been feeling the same way...

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Jul 29 2009, 04:42 PM) *
Silvio: "we had played so many games last week that the squad was simply too tired. Also bayern is in a better condition than us so its normal to get beaten 4-1 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) . Signings? we have many great champions like ronaldinho and seedorf who can lift this squad up, we are fine as we are"

LOL (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I don't know why I laughed when I read this, it's just so possible seeing him say something foolish and amature like this. As fuuny as it may seem. It certainly isn't fun knowing you can predict your club president (of one of the most presitgious clubs of the past) say something so foolish and ill timed. It's like he say this sh!t to us all the time.
I wonder if he even realizes this. Or better yet I would love to know Silvio's real thoughts on Milan related incidents, because as we all know he always feeds the media BS (80% the time atleast).

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Such a sad summer. Such painful years have gone by. Hopefully the future would be promising.
(...maybe we're just delusional)

Still - Forza Milan to the end of time! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Things like this are the reason why Italy can wave good-bye to the 4th CL place. "it's only a friendly" doesn't really work, it was only a friendly for Bayern too.

I'm scared for this season.

I think the biggest problem at the club is also the hardest one to change. It's president.

These aren't friendlies. Everybody says this crap. These teams want to win. Barca played it's youth squad against Tottenhams full squad and they looked better than Milan. These big clubs want to win everything and preseason is showing a team that wants and has the quality to win. Has Man u lost and Barca lost. If they lost 4 preseason games in a row heads would roll.

And hey minimi bluesSummer was on this forum when Milan lost to Liverpool. Just like you we thought the same thing back then oh come it's not that bad. Let's be optimistic It's Been a disaster ever since and let's tell you Milan didn't win our last champions league. Kaka won it. Now we lost our Maldini of the new generation and the new Zidane gourcuff(I don't buy he's the new Zidane but that's what people say). If you ever been to San siro it's some of the most passionate fans on the planet they deserve better than this as well as the rest of us.

Bluesummer was saying let's rebuild two years ago like I was and we were right. I remember saying at this rate Kaka will go to Madrid everbody said no Kaka is true milanista yeah Milan spoke bad about Madrid for years and jumped on that cash like an addict on crack

Unless I'm very much mistaken, April 2006 is a good several months after the loss to Liverpool in Istanbul.

Speaking personally, I wouldn't call Athens 2007 a disaster. And I don't think Kaka was the only Milan player to do anything positive for the club during the CL campaign.

I also disagree that it's been NOTHING BUT DOOM since Istanbul.

Not going to get further into the Kaka discussion because I suspect the rest of the board would slaughter me.

And finally, speaking as one who goes to the San Siro more regularly than most of the people on this board, I'm well aware of how passionate the local Milan fans are (and no, I don't count the Curva Sud as fans, not after what they did at Milan-Roma. They're a bunch of thugs). They're not happy right now, or so my friends in Milan tell me. I'm not happy either. This preseason is a mess -- too many games in too short a period, far too much time spent on long haul flights for anything to be effective. The coach is totally inexperienced and I'm personally starting to worry about his ability to lead the team. The transfer market hasn't really been good since the team brought in Nesta and Rui Costa and that's been a good few years.

I don't agree with what Berlusconi is doing with the club - and he's calling the shots on the lack of transfer funds, etc. But I do still love the club and have tremendous respect for the players. They deserve support even if everything else sucks (not Locke's) donkey balls.

So, in short, I don't see the need to go on extended rants. I try to look for what few positives we can see (this summer, the recovery of Nesta is a big one and Abate has also been good when fielded) rather than focus obsessively on the negatives.

yeah you will see the san siro empty. It will be a very tense environment in Milan where no player will want to come. It will just keep getting worst unless we start changing. We can use the squd is tired line all day but come august 8 and we are still playing like this, either 2 things need to happen. Leo needs to be sacked or we need to sign players. I think signing players is what we need because even a worldclass coach like ancelotti struggled with this team.

Meanwhile, Fishdoll (IMG:style_emoticons/default/realmad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/realmad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/realmad.gif) because he has been misquoted!

It's we suck (not Locke's) donkey balls!

And yeah, today we did.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Sorry, forgot about Locke's donkey!

I think you guys are all wrong! it's good we're losing every game! because that's the only way the management will accept new top players are needed - and will do something about it. and I mean THE ONLY WAY. if we had won all of our friendlies, do you really think they would have thought about reinforcing? no way! they would have fed us the famous line, we are fine as we are.

As for our problems, I agree with Kurt. it's Berlu. I don't care if he can't or doesn't want to invest anymore, as I've said before, the day he sells the club to someone who's willing to spend £££ will be a very happy day for me.

I'm not a fan of this club because of Berlu. I don't care if he sells it to someone who's ready to make it great again.
