AC Milan - Milanfan.com _ Other _ Letter to Galliani
Posted by: Tennie Sep 23 2007, 10:12 PM
Hi all,
Below is a letter I've drafted on behalf of milanfan.com to the club. Mike has reviewed it and has given me the okay to send it.
Please note that I drafted it before Saturday-- when the Curva did cheer and when there were...disagreements...here on the website -- but I think the letter expresses something worthwhile and that it's still worth sending.
If anyone has suggestions for edits or changes, please either respond or send me a PM. I'll be sending the letter off in a day or two.
------
Dr. Galliani,
(Mi spiace che devo scrivere in inglese; puo parlare e leggere italiano, ma e per me difficile scrivere in italiano. Mio nonno e calabrese e ho imparato italiano a casa, non alla scuola.)
I am writing on behalf of the members of milanfan.com. Milanfan is a website dedicated to AC Milan and its thousands of members come from six continents. We are a diverse group of individuals who are united in our passionate support of the team. I know of few other places where, for example, people from Israel, Kuwait, Nigeria, Venezuela, Malaysia, Malta, Croatia, Canada, Greece, Australia, the United Kingdom, Portugal, the United States, and many other countries come together in common cause. Geography, politics, culture and language may divide us, but Milan unites us.
We were all saddened and dismayed to read the news reports in the past few days about the lack of support for the team among the tifosi in the San Siro. It isn’t right that the fans go to games and refuse to support the team; if they don't like the Amati decree, then they should protest to the /government/, not at the games. The players deserve better.
Please, please let the players and staff know that even if the tifosi in Milan are silent, there ARE thousands – if not many, many more – of fans all over the world who are supporting the team every game, whether Milan win or lose, no matter what. Only a handful of us have ever been to a Milan game, as we are located all over the world. I know that if we could, we would all be there at the San Siro, cheering our hearts out.
Forza Milan!

I hope he reads it...
Posted by: kurtsimonw Sep 24 2007, 12:43 AM
A great idea.
I think it sometimes gets lost with all the fighting on here, but we ARE all here for one reason, and that's Milan!
P.S. You called us United Kingdom and not Britain, you rule, Tennie.

And a BIG thank you to Milanista 1899 who translated the entirety of the letter into Italian for us all.
I'll add Germany, India, and Iraq to the list of countries. Sorry about the unintentional exclusions!
And I'll send the letter off today. Hopefully it'll get read!

How do you Milanista 1899 hasn't just translated it to read...Dear Mr.Galliani....F@ck u bald piece of shite....?
Cr@ppy jokes aside, it's a good thing you sent it in Italian...otherwise judging by the skill of the translators Milan have(as is obvious from the official site), it will be next season, before they figure out what the letter actually meant.

Hee hee. I sent two copies of the letter - one in English and the other in Italian so hopefully someone will read it!

Oh, that part's in there too. But it's prefaced by 'Jack from India asked me to say'
Joking aside, the letter's off and should get there sometime Thursday. I've got a tracking number so I'll at least know when it's signed for.

Touche.....I'd have liked that if you'd put it in. I wonder how they'd translate and put it up on the official site?

Nice 1!
I guess this is the closest we've come to actually speaking to anyone from the club
How come he/they replied in English? (or something that loosely resembles English) I thought you sent it in Italian?
Posted by: Tennie Oct 11 2007, 03:03 AM
I sent two copies of the letter: one in Italian and one in English. My guess is that they chose to respond in English because of where I live.
Thanks again, Milanista 1899, for your lovely job translating!
And thanks to everyone for their kind words.

Oh and we'd all go for cheaper than R10.

If I had to, I'd rob a bank if it meant I could see that game. (I'd have to befriend some scousers to pull it off though) To see dst get sent off for a foul on his own teammate. (unfortunate use of the word "mate" there!)

Ha-ha! The chance to play next to Kakha... a dream come true!! Oh, I'd love it... I'm going to smash his head on the post so hard that it will fall off... then I'll make it a football. When it can be kicked no more I will rip out his intestines and create a swing off the crossbar! I'll smoke the San Siro grass and I'll swing happily ever after!
"We made it Chucky... "
Oh my God... look what he's done to me!

Nice... I never thought they would respond. But after all Milan is Milan. We have always been a classy club

Sorry, I didn't read all the posts as I had no interest in reading them, but someone said "fish doll". It wasn't just aimed at Tennie (who I respect by the way!) there's nearly a full page of off-topic posts collectively made by various people. Not to sound like anyone's "Mom" as someone else who noticed this was called by someone. I know I'm not an admin or anything, just pointing something out.
