QUOTE (ganney @ Nov 22 2009, 12:29 AM) *
the truth is video replay in football already exists, for instance on a weekly basis in the EPL tha FA watch replays after appeals against red cards, many times these appeals are successful and the red cards are then rescinded why can't there also be a system where teams can after the game appeal against the legitimacy of dubious looking goals and such goals simply get chalked off.
i just don't understand why today replays are only being used to determine if .....adebayor's goal celebration against arsenal was excessive+ didn't adebayor bag a 3match ban for his stamp on van persie which the ref didn't see? why should'nt henry also get a ban for the handball?
eduardo also got an ECL ban for diving which was detected after video replays

FIFA don't really wanna rid this beautiful game of controversy

+1 if we use the video replays in time the game is running i would think im watchin a tennis game ... barca last year did not deserve to be in the final .. chelsea deserved it ... but why didn't they give chelsea 4 goals from the penalties they didn't get ..(IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ?(IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) because this is football ... without these tricky thangs that happen on the court and the refs bad decisions the game won't be anymore exciting ... for the fans other then seeing ronaldo or ronaldinho or pato or kaka or messi or ibra dancing with the ball in front of the defenders ...

i think the game is more exciting without these technology thangs ... so if they start using it ... in each game we would have at least 4 goals from penalties ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

RONALDINHO: “I WANT TO PLAY UNTIL I'M 40”
In an interview with La Repubblica newspaper, the Brazilian star talks about his good run at Milan, personal issues and even the Brazilian National Team
Happy with the current scene at Milan – a month of invincibility, goals and assistances in decisive games –, Ronaldinho Gaúcho knows that he has to continue working hard to maintain the expected level. In an interview for Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the ace didn’t duck any questions and spoke of personal issues, the Italian Championship Serie A, the Champions League, World Cup and Brazilian National Team.

Ronaldinho, you celebrated the penalty against Real Madrid in San Siro Stadium pointing towards the heavens: why, was it the end of a difficult period?
“No, it just happened. I’m Catholic, but I don’t go to church everyday”.

It looked like a gesture of thanks: in the last 15 days the season has changed for both you and Milan.
“Thanks to the victory in Bernabéu. It gave us a lot of confidence. If we end this round of games well against Lazio, we have a break afterwards: training we´ll improve even more”.

Even shocking Inter Milan?
“It’s worth trying. For the history of Milan, this is an important time”.

For the new hyper offensive model?
“The system of the game has changed. The coach was changed, after many years. Today, Milan is different. If we play well, a new cycle could begin for this group and for the new coach”.

In other words, Leonardo, like Tele Santana, would be a pioneer in Italian football, more than Ancelotti who put Pirlo, Rui Costa and Seedorf together?
“Our results prove that you can play with a lot of strikers, if the strikers are able to adapt to any position and help defensively. Speaking of (Tele) Santana, those in Brazil said no one would ever have played that well, even having lost later to Italy in the 1982 Cup. I was 2 years old, but I'm happy to play this way".

It's obvious: com Ancelotti you didn’t play and to a certain point with Leonardo too.
“I was unhappy in reserve. Now I’m having fun, I can do what I love most: dribble, make passes and assists”.

What about goals?
“Before anything else, I’m someone that makes assists. When I put one of my teammates in a position to score, well, it makes me very happy".

A month ago you weren’t: why were you shown more active in the nightclub than in training?
“The lies bother me. A professional knows what can be done during moments of leisure, without affecting on-field performance”.

In fact, Leonardo said he wasn’t concerned about the private life of Ronaldinho.
"And I’m not interested in his either (laughs). I’m just joking, we get along really well."

Fame does away with your privacy.
"I prefer it this way than not being recognized in the street. I’ve achieved my childhood dream without giving up who I am or what I like: playing the bongo, I love percussion instruments. I have three dogs, the most recent is a St. Bernard, Hanesh."

Leonardo said that you have a great opportunity to make your mark again like 3 years ago with the Golden Ball.
"I have never changed. But if the team doesn’t win, they massacre me. A great player is expected to prove he is the best every day."

What made you come off the bench? Pride or anger?
"Just the desire to respond on the field. Talking a lot is useless: but the truth is evident on the field."

However, today you wouldn‘t go to South Africa.
"I want to go to the Cup. I have a great relationship with Dunga. But I waste a lot of energy if I think about that. I’m focused on the present."

You make a pass and Pato scores the goal: is that how it will be in the National Team?
"I speak with him and Thiago Silva about that often: if we play well with Milan we’ll return to the National Team."

To beat Italy, like in the friendly in London and in the Confederations Cup?
"Brazil is very strong, but Italy has a great team. Anything can happen in the Cup."

Lippi will acquire a Brazilian: do you agree with Amauri’s decision?
"It is an individual choice. I’m lucky enough to have never faced these problems: I have played in National Teams, representing my country, since I was 15."

Barcelona is having trouble in the Champions League: are you surprised?
"I only think of Milan, where I’m very happy playing. Cafu, Leonardo, Kaká, and Ronaldo have all told me a lot about the Milanello family: They were right. Now that I speak more Italian, I feel a strong bond. My teammates, before anything else, are my friends. My family and I always enjoy learning about the culture of the country I’m playing in. Now, besides Portuguese, I speak French, Spanish and Italian. I’m proud of that."

But the Serie A is in decline: the best no longer choose it.
"I always see it as competitive: for a striker, with the strong defenses that exist, it’s almost like a graduation exam. Pato is learning quickly: he could become the best in the world, no one is faster than he is."

Who is the best at the moment?
"That’s easy, Messi: I saw him grow. I know, I know, he's Argentinean: even between the two all time best, with Pelé, I say Maradona. My brother Roberto (Assis, also Ronaldinho’s manager) made me watch so many of his games that he became my idol."

Ronaldinho, at the end of your career do you see yourself managing like Platini or coaching like Leonardo?
"I haven’t thought of that: I want to play until I’m 41, like Maldini. And who knows, like him, always in Milan."

i think pato was the MOM ... but ronaldinho was the most feared player by real madrid's players and fans ... and this why sergio ramos sucked because he was still living the 2005 ronaldinho match !!! RONALDINHO'S GOLDEN FOOTPRINT
10/12/2009 8:30:00 PM
Montecarlo called and Ronaldinho responded: the Rossoneri champion is the winner of the Golden Foot 2009 and left his footprint on the Champions Promenade. Compliments Gaucho!

MILAN - The splendid Champions Promenade near the Monaco beaches 'called' Ronaldinho and he responded. The Brazilian champion, in fact, is the winner of the Golden Foot 2009. The Gaucho was rewarded today during the ceremony held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Ronaldinho left his footprint on the Champions Promenade of Montecarlo. Tonight the Brazilian playmaker will be the guest of honor of Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Ronaldinho thereby earned a place in the Hollywood-style Walk of Fame at Monaco thanks to the votes of his fans. The famous road, which attracts tourists from all over the world, near the Grimaldi Forum and the beaches of Monaco, is constellated with the footprints of history's champions and from this year, there will also be the indelible 'signature' of Milan's number 80.

The Gaucho beat the competition of nine other champions: competing with Ronaldinho were also Juventus players Buffon and Trezeguet, David Beckham, who was a Rossonero from January to June, Figo, Gerrard, Giggs, Henry, Raul, and Roma captain Francesco Totti.

The Golden Foot, prestigious international prize destined to footballers of at least 29 years of age who have distinguished themselves both as players and as symbols of their teams, has become a fixed appointment of the summer football agenda. The title is assigned annually on the basis of votes from the public, who can choose between ten candidates chosen by a jury composed of journalists from all over the world. The votes are made on the official website of the event.

Many world-class players have already had the honor of leaving their footprint and in particular Milan remember Andriy Shevchenko. The Ukrainian is part of a gallery of exceptional number ones, including Roberto Baggio, George Best, Gianni Rivera, Ronaldo, George Weah, Dino Zoff (who, as a goalkeeper, left his handprint). The last editions were won by Alessandro Del Piero (2007) and Roberto Carlos (2008).

perhaps not at club level, but i think we've yet to see the best of kaka on the international stage. he's in the spotlight for the selecao, not in the shadows of r9 and r10.

i think robinho is doing better than kaka for the selecao ... but what im not understanding is why kaka is doing gd next to cr9 and robinho ... and when he was next to ronaldinho he went to the media and said ronaldinho is not making me play my best (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) ? ??? YES!!! THIS WILL MEAN ONE OF TWO THINGS, EITHER E BUY A NEW SUPERSTAR, ORGALLIANI COMES OUT AND SAYS HOW GREAT A CHAMPION SEEDORF IS AND HE WILL LEAD US...

if he wants to retire he will do that after the WC ... so retiring this season before the wc doesn't make any sense ... i think it's just a report from goal.crap as alwayz ... im starting to hate that site ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

I think a good way to compare would be if Kaka can single handedly destroy Barcelona at the Camp Nou and have the Catalans applauding his display, then yes, he is as good as if not better than Ron at his peak.

+100000000000 this is the true comparison !!!

You would have thought we would have learned the lesson by now...

Berlusconi said he bought him for the fans...

Ronaldinho is currently on 7.5m a season and is our highest paid player. The other players look to him when we are in trouble hoping for a bit of brilliance yet he's nowhere to be seen! No wonder they've given up on him. And as for being the leader wasn't he the one who stood on the table and proudly boasted "I will lead the team" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

What makes me laugh the most is that lots of people were saying that Kaka was underperforming in his last two years!!!! Kaka is ten times the player that ronaldinho is.

ronaldinho never did that .... it was a report and he told the media that that never happenned but you (and the media ) want a lil' bad thing from ronaldinho to start critisizing ... heh it's alwayz bullshit

i think we have to play ronaldinho on the wing ... so we play the 4-4-2 formation ... with the usually defenders ... 2 dms ... ronaldinho on the right/left ... pato on the left/right .... and inzaghi - huntelaar up front ... with some tactical thang about ronaldinho and pato ... i think the team will be better ,,,

Well that's what you think ... i think you will regret what you're sayin .. maybe not ... we'll see ... you keep hatin on ronaldinho i don't know why ... on his prime he was better then kaka on his prime... but now things change ... and ronaldinho changed from exellent to very bad ... last season he changed from very bad to bad ... and now he's changing ... i hope if it's not from bad to exellent ... it's from bad to very good ... because if he even is half what he was at barca he can lead milan to success ... and btw kaka didn't single-handly took milan to success ... he had pirlo ; inzaghi ; shevchenko ; cafu ; gattuso.... and all these great milan players .... ronaldinho took barca to winning trophies after 6 years without winning anything ... !!! now he is with milan ... and he can do the same he did with barca but instead of 6 years it's 2 or 3 years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

I don't know what to think.. are Argentina (and their coach) too bad or Brazil have become too good. Dunga's team played awful football about 1 or 2 years ago but now they beat Argentina 3-1 at Rosario... with Fabiano double! I think it's actually both. Brazil have improved but Argentina also suck (or should I say Diego).
-
Looks like Kaka is still the only recent Ballon d'Or winner who regularly performs for his country. Portugal are on the brick of n losing out on the World Cup and they say Captain Ronaldo's anonymity (compared to what he was at Man U) hasn't helped them any and Messi is still too inconsistent for Argentina to work his magic.

How I wish we still had Kaka

ronaldinho will be next to kaka beleive me and they goin to lead brazil to a 6th world cup !!! Now we wait and watch dinho leading milan first ... maybe some haters ... or some anti-ronaldinho fans will say that's bullshit .. but we can wait and see !!
