Well, I do have a nice bottle of Alentejo......

But seriously, I have hopes for Willy. I really hope he does well during the tournament. It's a big chance for him.

Yes, it is his big chance. If he performs well enough then at least we'll be a little more confident with the depth we have up top.

Willy...king.gif Ever since dst put me on to there being a facial resemblance, and then he scored against Juve(the winner)...I'm totally wub.gif about this kid.

*sigh* Kaka-Gourcuff
Pato-Willy

The team for the next decade.

Ok now I wake up.

2-1 for PSV

Posted by: zdrossoneri Aug 3 2007, 08:46 AM

@jefri91

Nah! really?!

=-=-=-=-=-=

I think Milan will ease past PSV. 3-0 to Milan. Pirlo will score a free kick. two others from Kaka!

We have a great defense, I'm sure we can keep a clean sheet today.

And our defeat... who gives a sh1t? we even didn't have a striker to score goals.

Could it be that our defeat was pre-programmed just to avoid Madrid!?

Unfortunately I couldn't see the match.

But I think it's clear we do need another striker, one that can score goals, I'd rther have Cassano than nobody. What happens if we have injuries in the season? We're f*cked.

I'm only messing. I really think we have a great chance of becoming the first team to retain the European Cup in it's current form. We proved everybody wrong when we won it last year, and now we have R9 to improve our CL squad and I'm hoping Gila will find some decent form for longer periods this year.

If I had to bet though, I'd put my money on Inter. They're going to win it eventually, it's just a matter of time, I think this is their year.

Personally, I prefer CL to Scudetto. it's definitely the most prestigious competition out there and if Inter haven't been able to win it for more than 40 years (!), but we just keep winning it, it's because no matter what signings the make, they are not a prestigious club. period.

I think it's better not to put you money on Inter, especially in Europe, because they will be kicked out of the CL as always. wink.gif maybe they will be able do a bit better in Serie A, but I believe it's finally Milan's turn to stick the Scudetto badge on its shirt.

I prefer the Champions League to the Scudetto also, but only because of Milan doing so well in it. I know I'll get tonnes of disagreement on this but.. The Champions League is easier to win, in a way. It's very hard to be consistant for 38 weeks, whereas in the CL you can play very poorly and still go all the way. Just look at our run, in general we were awful in the group stages, against Celtic in both legs, same with the first leg against Bayern and the final itself. In my opinion we played maybe 5 good games in the whole competition, we had a few nice performances in the groups, the 2nd leg against Bayern was okay and then the 2 games vs United. You can win a CL with a few good performances and a bit of luck. In the league, you need a whole lot more than a few good perfromances and luck.

Just my opinion, Champions League is easier to win than Scudetto. I wouldn't say it's more prestigious though, the Premier League is far beyong the European Cup, I would say Serie A is also.

I don't get what people are saying here.

Why would you not want to play Real Madrid? Every game and tournament matters.

We were dominated by PSV today without Farfan and Alex. Its nothing to shrug off. We lost our first real game of the pre-season. This is pretty bad if you ask me. The fact that we already have forwards, that is all of our forwards having little injuries to miss a game here and there is pretty alarming to me.

Well, you're right somehow. but I wouldn't say it's 'easier' to win the CL. in fact It's easy for Milan, but Inter are yearning for it for forty years. if they have the better team than us for winning the league, why can't they do the same in Europe? they must be lacking something. (the same goes for Madrid / Barca).

I think to win the Italian league you need more of a diligent and young team, whereas in Europe having a quality and experienced side is a must. so I think Milan will be Italy's front-runner in Europe as alway (but I'd never say we're definitely going to win it even if we had the best team in the world).

It's harder to pick the favorites for winning the Scudetto. but one thing is for sure, Inter will not be able to dominate the league and break as many records as they want this time. because Juve are back. Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina are not point-deducted. Inter are facing much bigger tests this time, even when facing newcomers Napoli / Genoa.

QUOTE
Milan took third place in the Moscow Tournament on penalties after a 3-3 draw with Lokomotiv Moscow.

The tie was eventually decided on spot-kicks – just as their first encounter of this competition with PSV Eindhoven earlier this week – but this time the Rossoneri emerged 8-7 winners.

Once again Carlo Ancelotti’s men were clearly tired from their pre-season training regime and almost disinterested in the game during the first hour.

Lokomotiv Moscow were given a helping hand to take the lead, as Dario Simic accidentally nodded the ball into his own net past the stranded Zeljko Kalac.

Kaka was the liveliest of his squad and managed to draw level, beating former Roma goalkeeper Ivan Pelizzoli with a solo effort sparked by Cristian Brocchi.

However, before the break the Russians were able to score another couple of goals through Ivanovic and Odemwingie left totally unmarked.

Kalac also made way for Nelson Dida after taking a knock to his right ankle during the first half, while Willy Aubameyang – the only striker at Ancelotti’s disposal – missed at least two sitters.

Milan fought back with a late flurry of goals to make it 3-3 practically on the final whistle, when the tactics had been reshuffled so much that Marcos Cafu was playing upfront!

Clarence Seedorf gave his teammates hope and 90 seconds later Brocchi sealed the six-goal thriller, both goals set up by Marek Jankulovski.

So for the second time in this tournament, it went to penalties. Massimo Oddo, Jankulovski, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta and Brocchi all successfully converted their kicks, but Dida’s one save on Kontsadelov proved decisive.

PSV 2-1 R.Madrid

PSV won the trophy. Madrid were better, specially on the 2nd half but Gomes made some brilliant saves there. Saviola scored once more.

We should go for Gomes as Dida replacement in 2 years. He's still 26.

Brocchi's 90' goal was brilliant... great 1-2 with Janku.
