Sobis: "I'm ready for Milan"

Brazilian starlet Rafael Sobis has confessed he is on the verge of signing for Milan and cannot wait to get started in Serie A.

“It’s true, the negotiations are advanced and I can’t wait to run to Milan,” the Internacional striker told the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’.

“I have to admit that I am very enthusiastic about this adventure. All day I have been surfing the Internet so I can find out everything about Milan. I already knew the team, but I’m discovering more about the city itself and it seems perfect for me. I hope everything can be concluded as quickly as possible.”

Sobis would be the replacement for £30m Chelsea man Andriy Shevchenko, joining other Brazilians such as Marcos Cafu, Ricky Kaka, Nelson Dida and Serginho.

“I have heard of everyone in the side, but I’ve not personally met any of them. I am in a tricky position at the moment, as I know talks are progressing well, but there’s nothing official yet. We follow Serie A games in Brazil and know Milan are one of the best teams in the world. My style is very different to yours, though, so I’ll need some time to settle in.”

It’s possible that the Rossoneri will let go of Marcio Amoroso, who arrived in January and barely set foot on the playing field, but he could prove useful as an introduction for Sobis.

“I like to move around off the ball, come back into midfield and make the most of my pace,” continued the youngster.

“What I love the most is running into the box and trying to score. I am a centre-forward, a born finisher. If you want a comparison, then I suppose you could say I resemble the early Amoroso, or perhaps Lyon striker Fred.”

Meanwhile, reports in the same newspaper suggest the road to Ronaldo’s door is still open, as Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani rang the Real Madrid star.

The key to bringing in the £10m rated Fenomeno lies in their Champions League qualification. That will be decided on Tuesday, after the second leg of the preliminary round tie with Red Star Belgrade.

I hope he's just being unassertive ...
He'll be anounced on Wednesday I think!!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yeah that was the part that got me, I don't think he is anything like them, (barring I don't know what the young Amoroso was like) he said himself that he likes to get the ball from the midfield and run into the box with it. ie dribble past defenders, I heard that he can even play as a winger or in Kaka's position.

And I hope you're right and he'll be announces soon, maybe then Braida will say something about if there might be more moves in the transfer market

His agent says "With Milan the things are almost done. Only few details that can be done via fax"

"But Valencia made a equal offer (to the Milan one) and I'm gonna meet the spanish agent next Monday. There's a possibility that Sobis can go to Spain"

I can predict next Tuesday on papers "Valencia signs Sobis. Milan miss Crespo, Ibra and Sobis... no market for the Rossoneri". (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Amoroso was the leading goal scorer in the scudetto at one point, so lets be optimisitic about his comparison to him.

From the videos he has a really sharp finishing ability. Some of his goals were quite amazing.

He will face the Italian defensive challenge. Its probably the toughest place to be a stiker, but with our midfield and his finishing ability we should do well.
